Braves @ Reds - Game 1

Strangely, I figured Prado would single up the middle if they put Uggla on anyway. Letting Gonzales get on was the killer.

That's what Brantley thought he was thinking, but he thought that was a mistake as Prado is "locked in"! Then he says they came out and told Masset you better try to get Uggla out instead. Then the 2 run HR!

This was a scheduled loss anyway. They won their last game.

Lol...the Reds don't use scouting reports...that's been painfully obvious this year.

Ball game! Reds already had their inning that they scored more than one run. Recent history has told us that there will not be another multi-run inning as the bats tend to go away.

Reds and Bengals are sharing scouting departments it seems.

haha, Gomes is going to bat instead of Ramon, Bruce, Edgar, Leake, etc

That along with the Stubbs wrist play and the butchering of the home half of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings when the lead-off batter got on! I still can't get over calling that suicide squeeze on a 3-2 count when you've got one of your few hitters that have a clue and is proficient in getting runs in from 3rd with less than two out, and don't let him do his job! If they walk him, you just hit and run from 1st with Hanigan and you get a run on an infield grounder and still clear the pitcher, and that should be worst case.

Agree, lewis not moving runner to 3rd with 0 outs, and failure to get the run in the 3rd (would have had game 3-1 Reds). Little things this team does not do well. Its the bigs, the margin is too thin not to execute.

Stubbs goes 1-4, 3K hit a homer, cost a homer

That will improve his WAR but he didn't help the team

You just have to laugh at a Jonny Gomes AB.

shit I forgot about him, that's probably the best option of em all.

Braves announcer, "Bull Rides last longer than that Gomes at bat."
  • mhs95_06
Kimbrel throws a perfect pitch for strike 3 to Stubbs, but with Stubbs you don't need a perfect one!

And they wanna trade for him. Stoooopid

LOL, the Indian chant by some of the Braves fans in attendance.
  • mhs95_06
Gomes helpless! But Hanigan at least makes a bid!

I will pray tonight that doesn't happen. Although to be fair he'd be brought in to face LHP. Braves are worst in MLB in that category.

Reds stole two bases on the P & C to put runners on 2nd with none out twice, only to have Stubbs and Lewis fail to move them to 3rd. And also when Heisey led off the 3rd with HBP, Cozart lets HRs in his two previous ABs in GABP go to his head and is also tainted by other team members bad examples of plate approaches, and tries to hit a 400' 2 run HR, but instead ruins the inning with a 5-4-3 DP! Once the Braves tied it 4-4 it was their big advantage with their great bullpen, even though they were on the wrong side strategically by being the visiting team.
