    Isn't Fifa 14 essentially a reboot of 13?
  • Automatik
I would say that for '13 compared to '12. FIFA 13 = FIFA 12 with glitches fixed.

14 is introducing the "Ignite Engine"....whatever that is.

Aren't all sports games basically a "reboot" of the previous year's game?

I like everything updated and like the tradition of it. But, I'd be happy with updates instead of buying discs all the time.

I know it was talked about before, but with the win the US is up to 13th in the world rankings.

    Highest ranking in 3 years.

Mexico drops out of the top 20!

Wayyyyy too high for the US...but hard to argue against it, at least on paper.

I know nothing of the Columbian team. How are they so high?

FIFA rankings are purely a mathematical formula, right? It's just a combination of who you beat, not opinion related I believe.

It's not like you can fault a team for being ranked according to a formula.

But I get what you mean, it's odd to be ranked ahead of a team like England. And I don't watch enough soccer to accurately evaluate how the rest of the teams are strength wise. But when I look at the current rankings I don't see too many teams that I think it's a joke for us to be ranked over (I see France is below the US but they haven't been doing well recently.

France and England blow right now. France might not make the WC (then again, Uruguay might not either).

USA just beat Germany and Bosnia, who are topping their groups in qualifying and are tops in CONCACAF qualifying which is, imo, the 3rd toughest region. I think the USA is a top 15 teams in the world right now, so I think the ranking is accurate.

A team like Colombia is not a top 3 team in the world...they are ranked to high.

They beat Germany's B team, let's be real here.

Group H in UEFA qualifying is crazy. 4 teams could essentially qualify, or at least place 2nd and get a play off draw. Would be crazy to see England not qualify. There are going to be some tough playoff matchups in november for UEFA. France doesn't have Henry to save them with a hand ball this time. There are going to be some pretty damn good teams left out of the World Cup. I would love to see England, Portugal and especially France left out of the WC.

I know we beat their B team, but offensively it was still impressive. We looked like a real offense (and have for the last 6 months). That game kind of solidified my beliefs that this group of players can do some serious damage with a good draw.

I would like to see England make the WC, cause its more fun when they fail there and I dont mind them should they do well.

France and Portugal are 2 of my more despised national teams, so yeah, I hope they miss out.

I think Uruguay is safe at this point.

Probably safe to at least make the playoff. But they have Ecuador and Argentina as their last 2 games. I think they need to win one of them.

It's great to see France sucking! England needs to be good, but they are getting close to being in the same situation as Mexico -- wipe out everyone from the top down to the equipment manager.

    Colombia has Falcao! :)

And we didn't have all of our starters either. So?

We needed the momentum. The USMNT isn't in a situation right now to say, "we can take certain friendlies off because our national team is top tier." The Germany friendly came in the middle of Hex matches. Keep the momentum going. Keep the attack up. Keep the fans in it. Set the tone for what the USMNT can be.

Jurgen has done more for new players and player pool than ANY other national team manager -- to my recollection. I never saw any previous coach bringing players through the system like Jurgen has done. And...the USMNT had a 12 game win streak going. That says some positive things -- regardless of "B team" opponents. Funny thing is, the previous USWNT coach (Pia) played a cupcake schedule of friendlies and she never got too many criticisms of her W-L-D record.

Forlan is done. Going to Brazil for club ball sealed his retirement.

This. Did brilliant to fight it off, and he should have gotten his first goal of the season. Ref blew his whistle too early.
