You should know this non, you're a Steelers fan...their good football gives u intelligence.
Too early to be left with one more challenge the rest of the game.
0-0 score, midway through the first
There's so much that can happen.
But if they saw that back camera angle which showed it clearly, then it was a good challenge.
The first look when Gruden and Jaworski were questioning whether it was tipped or wobbly was not clear. That's what I was going off of. -

Your point wasn't whether the challenge would be successful...it was because it was only a matter of 4-5 yards (which was completely untrue). -

too early, Bears weren't even at the 50 yard line
you have to be sure you'll get the call -

Stupidity -
Laley23
That ridiculous. A chance to get the ball back versus a first and ten. you have 2 challenges, and 3 if you get them right. I dont know what you saw, but that ball was tipped in live action. Jaws said it immediately. The replay we saw showed it. It was a great challenge.Non;929523 wrote:my point was you can't risk losing it there

The live angle didn't show it was clearly tipped. You're just saying that now.Laley23;929531 wrote:That ridiculous. Jaws said he thought it must've been because Cutler throws the ball so well.
Then they all looked at the replay and nobody was sure. It was inconclusive.
The back angle when they showed several different ones confirmed it was tipped.
You don't put that much stock into one possession like that early in the game. Coaches do that all the time they'll challenge one early first down catch and it won't mean anything to the outcome. -

chicago510The thing is NFL teams have TVs where they can watch the replay to determine the "challengeability" of the call
Well, maybe the Bears don't -

Does a first half timeout really mean that much to you? lolNon;929538 wrote: You don't put that much stock into one possession like that early in the game. -
Laley23How many games a week does a team use 3 challenges? Id guess less than 15%
-
Non
You only get two challenges per game. It's not about the timeout.SportsAndLady;929546 wrote:Does a first half timeout really mean that much to you? lol
If you miss that one, you only have one left the rest of the game.
More often than not being haphazard with the challenges will come back to haunt you.
That's not the case here because I realize they must've saw the conclusive angle. -
NonAlright. It's no big deal.
I'm not going to argue about that play the whole game.
The essence of the point has been made and you know I'm right. -

you have literally everyone arguing against you. I'd say you are wrong in this instance.Non;929562 wrote:Alright. It's no big deal.

Watch the rest of the year and you'll see games where coaches will challenge a short pass/trap play and lose a challenge and then later on they'll be out of them in a pivotal situation.DeyDurkie5;929563 wrote:you have literally everyone arguing against you. I'd say you are wrong in this instance. -

Thats the Jay Cutler the Bears paid for! His best drive of the year. -
NonThe Lions got the challenge but still have let the Bears go up and down the field and they trail 10-7
That situation didn't mean anything in hindsight.
Whether it was first down or 3rd and 13. -

Laley23You are so arrogant its insane. It didnt mean anything because the dumb Lions committed like 4 more penalties to give them first downs. You have the chance to get the ball back, you take it. To argue otherwise is ridiculous. Plenty of times in a game a play that early can be the difference. Id be stunned if Detroit needed 2 more challenges tonight.

Think about it, right now at this point that did not mean anything.Laley23;929593 wrote:You are so arrogant its insane. So if they had lost it, all they would've done is lose that challenge.
You understand?
People overreact to a first quarter situation. As it happens they think it's bigger than it is. Better to be cool and let the players play out the situations unless it's a really pivotal play. -
Hb31187Lol this argument is still going on? Over something completely and totally irrelevant lol

Terry_TateStafford has been pretty inaccurate so far minus the deep bomb.
