Well yeah, you can talk about the Steelers in this thread, durr.Non;930040 wrote:random NFL chatter
read the thread title next time
But when someone's talking about the Jets and Patriots, and you just respond by bringing up the Steelers, it's pretty stupid. Tehy weren't talking about the Steelers, u just joined the convo to talk about them..stfu -

New conversations are starting up all the time on a full season "random NFL chatter" thread.
You're totally wrong on this one. -

Every now and then, sure. But you do it every time lol you can't have a conversation wtihout bringing up the Steelers.Non;930494 wrote:Random means random.

John: "The Lions look great"
Sarah: "Yeah they do!"
Non: "Yes, they are good..but I don't know if they'll be Super Bowl contenders. The Steelers looked good this week. They'll definitely be in the Super Bowl hunt. Just one of those teams that you know will be tough to beat."
See how annoying that can be when you say it over and over and over and over -

You're just making that up. I really don't pump up the Steelers too often. Actually pretty even pointing out the positives and negatives.
I was making a general overview of the league so far, saying the Packers are clearly the best and then Ravens and Patriots in the AFC. Then mentioned outside of those teams I still think the Steelers are capable of throwing a wrench into things come playoff time. A lot of people were saying the same things last year and they made it to the Super Bowl so it's not that far fetched.
In a thread based on constant random chatter, it makes no difference whether you join an existing conversation or make your own points. Then others have the option of ignoring or making a counter point, which happened in this case. That's how it works. -

I'll bet you 100 dollars that the steelers don't make the playoffs. I'll bet you 500 dollars that they don't win the super bowl. You are delusional. By the way, who the fuck cares about what they did 5 years ago? This is a completely different year and team, the steelers look awful.Non;930290 wrote:Maybe not better at this point but I think they'll evolve and pass up the other teams like San Diego and Buffalo by season's end. Houston has some talent but I just think the Steelers would win the next meeting in the playoffs.
I'd say 1) Baltimore 2) New England 3) Pittsburgh in terms of which team will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. When it's all said and done. -

They're coming off a complete performance last week. Not every team that wins or makes a deep playoff run looks awesome and together the first few games. There's precedent for the Steelers turning it on late in the year. They're adjusting now and putting guys at different spots and playing some younger guys. Sometimes it takes time for a team to come together. But with the coaches they have and still many good players and the commitment, it's very possible they can make another run IMO.DeyDurkie5;930502 wrote:I'll bet you 100 dollars that the steelers don't make the playoffs. The schedule sets up well. If they beat Jacksonville and Arizona, they'll be 5-2 going into games against New England and Baltimore. If they can play well and win one or both of those games, there is an opportunity for them to go on a roll and be 12-4/13-3. They'll be favored in probably every other game. In 2004 they beat New England and Philadelphia -- two undefeated teams -- in back-to-back weeks around midseason and that propelled them to a 15-1 regular season. There is that opportunity this year the way the schedule sets up. -
friendfromlowryDamn I am so sick of hearing about Denver and their quarterbacks. Orton, Quinn, and Tebow all fucking suck and none of them should start. But since someone has to, just pick one of them already and stick with it. I've never seen such a commotion over a 1-4 team. You would think they are actually good.

I think it will be tough to get past the divisional round because Baltimore is going to win a lot of games, maybe even better than 13-3 which will send the Steelers on the road.
If I had to make the call today I say the Steelers make the playoffs, win the wild card round and lose a heartbreaker on the road in the divisional round. -

You just said you feel they will make another run, since all their younger parts are being fitted in. So man up and take the super bowl bet.Non;930676 wrote:I'll bet you $100 the Steelers make the playoffs.

NonWay too early to put a label on them as "not good this year" or "awful this year" after a couple bad games.
When you consider the high expectations and the pride factor with the Steelers coaches and still some quality veteran players.
They're not just going to throw up their hands and figure the season is over. That might be how the Browns operate but the Steelers will go back to the lab and figure out the right formula. -

They'll be in the mix. I consider making it to the divisional round a strong year.DeyDurkie5;930681 wrote:You just said you feel they will make another run, since all their younger parts are being fitted in. So man up and take the super bowl bet.
I think they'll lose to Baltimore like 23-20 for example in the divisional round but be close to making it to the AFC Championship. But they might win with a little luck. -

dude, I could give two shits what the fuck you think the gay steelers will do. I want to know do you want to make a super bowl bet or not since they "could get lucky" 500 bucks straight upNon;930693 wrote:They'll be in the mix. I consider making it to the divisional round a strong year.

Laley23Raiders had only 10 men on field in final play (interception by Huff in endzone) versus Texans. Just imagine if they had lost lol.
