Laley23Holy shit! What a shot by Giovanni!!!
I hate Mexico. -
raiderbuckAnyone khow how long OT is? Stupid Insight cable doesn't carry FSCHD, so I'm watching it in Spanish on Telemundo or whatever
-
hoops23Oh man. Tough shot but Bradley missed a wide open goal

lol, we aint having no OT. Getting our asses handed to us.
But it would be two 15 minute halves (no sudden death). Then PKS, if still tied. -
Terry_TateMan I thought that was in by Bradley. Would have been huge.

It's 4-2 Mexico, there will be no extra time lol -
Laley23We will score here to make it 4-3, just so the ending is more gut-wrenching for me.
-
raiderbuckMy bad...I'm used to it counting 0-90 min. This station counts two 45 minute halves. I thought it was end of regulation at 45:00. Brain fart.
-
hoops23Gotta find a way to get Dempsey more touches near goal. I forgot he was even playing tonight. Smh
-
hoops23Adu's night is done, but holy cow is he back. Will be huge for Team USA moving forward.*
-
Laley23Well, if there is a positive that came out of this tournament it is the return (emergence??) of Freddy Adu. Im not wiling to say he has learned and isnt the same player, because he has only played around 100 minutes so far. But if this is a sign of how he is going to play going forward, or offense becomes MUCH more lethal. Really elevates the play of everyone in attack when you have 3 creative midfielders.
Side note: I think Bedoya shouldve been on the bench and Aguadelo as the lone #9 today. We always try Landon and Clint up top for the USA, and it never seems to work. -
hoops23If we can ever get a solid back line, we'll instantly be 10x better.
-
patriots34Great foul by Keljstan!
-
Laley23I hope Argentina wins or loses to Brazil in the Copa America so Mexico has less chance to advance out of the group. I know the Euro team will be stacked (along with Spain for winning the WC). That would be:
1. Brazil
2. Argentina
3. Spain
4. Other Euro team
5. Mexico
Tough no matter the group. -
Laley23PS: We are hosting the tournament, and we werent smart enough to play the final in Columbus, or Seattle, or Philly, or something. Some city that isnt anywhere near a Mexican dominant area???
-
hoops23@DrewfromTV: The FSC announcers need to slow down about how great our defense had been, considering who we've been playing. #GoldCup

lol, EXACTLY. I was thinking te same damn thing. We pretty much gave Mexico a home game in the final. -

Yeah. Not only had teams we had been playing suck at offense, but we STILL gifted them goals. They were just that inept lol. Truth be told, we are lucky to be in this game. Concacaf is so weak. Truly only has 2 teams, US and Mexico. -
hoops23All this soccer makes me want to pick up FIFA 11. How much better is it than FIFA 10?

I was wondering the exact same thing when I saw it was at the Rose Bowl. Couldn't believe they didnt put it further away. Figured Seattle would have it as I've just heard they do a great job with soccer. -

We usually play Mexico in Columbus, but thats also during the winter cause they hate it. But at the same time, it might still be in their heads despite it being hot out this time of year. But at least in a northern town or Columbus (Philly, NY, Seattle, and Columbus do the best with soccer that isnt near Mexicans) we wouldnt have had to deal with an away crowd, on our own turf.
And I dont wanna hear about it being a tourney so you cant predict the teams. Everyone knows if you play this 100 times, its Mexico-USA 99 times lol. -

THIS.
Why put the final game in the epicenter for Hispanics for this game? (not being racist)
Would have made more sense to have in Seattle or Philly.
I only like to see the USA/Mexico game in Columbus halfway through February b/c they dread the cold, lol. -

I know. But maybe it is all mental at this point. They play so poorly in C-Bus in the winter lol. -

I'd be willing to bet even if we made the Finals and Mexico somehow didn't, there would have been a large Mexican contingency there rooting against us lol. -
Laley23This pretty much sums up the game....no joke.
F Freddy Adu, 8:Adu was by far the best American on the night. He had a big hand in both goals with strong service on the corner that set up the first and good hold-up play to help create the second. He was the only player on U.S. side who could match the Mexicans' technique.
D Jonathan Bornstein, 2: Took over for Lichaj on the left after he moved to right to replace Cherundolo. Bornstein was dreadful, failing at all his defensive tasks.
