The Tribe was very patient and made him come into the strike zone. But, he was frustrated too after giving up the two 0-2 walks in a row. You could see it in his body language.
WKNR had Laporta on the other day and R&R were discussing how the Tribe batters were working opposing pitchers deep into the count hence getting to their bullpen early. Laporta said that when you are seeing the ball better you can afford to let strikes go by and wait for "your pitch." -
wes_mantoothIf the Tribe can somehow pull it out today...this will be one of the best west coasters in recent memory.

It's just nice to know they only have 1 more to go. I haven't paid much attention to the rest of the division's schedule but I feel like they have at least 2 more west coast trips to go.
Nice to see Verlander throw a no-hitter too. Anyone else realize the last time Verlander threw a no hitter, the Tribe won the division? Hopefully it's another good omen. -
TBone14Haren came back down to earth a bit in his last start in Boston. No reason he can't have a bad one today. Fausto has been terrible in day games though, hopefully he can buck that trend today.

OQBLet's Go Tribe
-
Laley23Good start for Fausto. Throwing strikes.
-
iclfan2Santana with a lead off walk, then Hafner looks at a fastball right down the middle to strike out.
-
iclfan2LaPorta is terrible on tying to hit balls way outside when he gets 2 strikes on him. Runners on the corners with 2 outs.
-
Laley23Kearns finally helps the Tribe!!!!
-
iclfan2Kearns! 1-0 Tribe.
-
like_thatIt's going to be nice to see these guys play against weaker pitchers. How many singles have they hit since this west coast trip?
-
iclfan2I don't really get why you're resting Hanahan or Brantley with an off day tomorrow. Not questioning Manny, just wondering.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Though, from my own travel experiences, no matter how short...today is NOT an off day. Traveling is tough haha.
Not to mention, it is with 2 righties. I dont know the numbers for Haren, but with that splitter, I gotta believe that lefties hit him better. -
iclfan2Fausto with 3 k's through 2. Starting strong.
-
iclfan2Haren has 6 k's through 3.
-
Laley23The trivia question:
I go:
Nolan Ryan (obvious)
Vida Blue
Sam McDowell
Tom Seaver or Bob Gibson??? Maybe Gooden?
Im pretty sure the first 3 are correct, stuck on the 4th. Probably an obvious guy, Im not thinking of. -

We are just working the pitch count. All part of the gameplan -
BR1986FBFausto is pitching well. Would like to see a few more runs though.

Thanks Grady ! 2-0 on a Sizemore dinger... -

Can you ask for a few more runs before every at bat for the Tribe please???
BOOM, Grady with the 401 foot HR (just clearing the 400 ft wall). -
iclfan2GRAAAADY! Solo homer - 2-0 Tribe
-
september63Fausto usually pitches really well or gets knocked around early. His pitch count is down and throwing strikes. A complete game is not out of the question today, as I post this in the 5th inning.
-
BR1986FBNeed a double play here...
-
iclfan2Whew way to get out of that inning Fausto. Nice throw out by Santana.
-
OQBGood game so far!
