Reds vs Brewers OPENING DAY

  • Terry_Tate
I'll be there Saturday night and Sunday day, so if they lose both of them, you'll know who to blame.

And I went to the game with my company, but I'll still concede on any derogatory things you say about me for leaving early. Went to the National Exemplar before the game which was really good. Wish the weather would just be like it was last year, not the year before or this year. By the middle of the game if you were in the sun it wasn't too bad though.

Unsure what the National Exemplar is.

Think there is a new place, The Holy Grail, in the banks now. Radio said it was packed.

Would love to go to OD...one day I will I imagine and probably would make it an every year thing. Weather can realyl suck that is for sure. I am no pussy when it comes to weather and sports. I prefer to go to steelers games in december and january, in the snow, the cold and such but baseball...that is a warm weather sport!

It's a restaurant over in Mariemont. It's apparently highly rated but the prices weren't bad at all, and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend it. I'm a west-sider but can appreciate the east side.

I've been lucky enough to be in a company where the owner takes all of the higher ups to Opening Day, so I've been to the last three. Never left early before this one, and they were both losses. Maybe I should have left both of them early. ;)

The Holy Grail looked insanely full, but I might try to go there this weekend. Will definitely be nice to have a place right by the stadium to go to.

May have to check it out sometime if I get to Cincy. Can always appreciate a good resturant and the prices dont matter if it is worth it. What type of place is it? What kind of food?

Went to a seafood place in Dayton last weeend, spent 160 bucks on just two of us and lets just say the food, although wasnt bad, really wasnt spectacular. I have tasted better salmon and steak at many a places before, for MUCH, MUCH less cost. It wasnt bad, but I would expect the food to be better than I can get at any place that offers seafood.

but since this is areds opening day thread......wow. What a game. I was listening at work...and right when the bottom of the 9th comes on some guy and his wife walk in. He has reds hat and sweatshirt on. I turn down the radio and he asks "What game ya listening to'. I answer 'Reds game' and to my disbelief he responds..."oh, I didnt know they played today".

    I almost fell over.

It reminds me of times we go to steelers games. On the way home we always stop in columbus at a taco bell usually. Almost like clockwork someone will be there with a steelers shirt or hat on. See's us with our jerseys and steelers gear on and asks..."did they win today?"

WTF....if you are a fan.....how can you NOT know it is opening day, and how can ya not know if your team won today?

No but I did see someone weaeing a shirt with that picture of Charlie Sheen wearing the Reds jersey smoking a cig on the front. The back said "WINNING!" I tried to get a pic but was unsuccessful.

If you want to be successful about something, be successful in getting me a vCash Pirates game thread. Using vCash bets, I will lead them to prosperity this year! Or bet against them virtually every game because the law of averages will be in my favor and I'll be "WINNING" Justin's grand prize.

THAT'S what I was looking for!! I was actually kinda bummed that I was watching the game on TV after Ramon's jack because I wish I could have heard Marty's call.

Couple years ago FSN was replaying Tom Brownings perfect game. I do not think it was broadcast on TV as about the only camera angle they used was from high behind the plate. They piped in Marty and Joe for the game call. I taped it and recorded his call 'and Tom Browning has pitched...a perfect game!' onto my phone and it was my ringtone for quite awhile.

I don't know how I keep doing that. My buddy sent me the link and I used it and heard Marty. I still must be using the wrong one. My bad, couldnt check it from my iPhone so I just posted it anyway.
