I gave my opinion on the topic, then you steeler "fans" got your panties in a bunch bc I didn't think they would win, for stated reasons. Thus I was talking about the topic then you brought up a season from 8 years ago, even though you got the season mixed up because you don't know your team well. -
Automatik
Um you're the one that brought up past games Einstein. I was just replying. Good god...do you even know the definition of hypocrite? Google that shit!Commander of Awesome;593462 wrote:I gave my opinion on the topic, then you steeler "fans" got your panties in a bunch bc I didn't think they would win, for stated reasons. So if you would like to discuss my points and not bring up the 2002 playoffs I would happy to, but I dont think you cable of intelligent conversation/discussion.
I'm hoping for another repeat performance from OchoStinko.....a non existent performance. -
killer_ewokWait, who mentioned 2003 first on this thread?
-
Commander of AwesomeNope I used the game which I attended as evidence to my statement bc I know you steeler "fans" would get all pissy about it saying I didn't know what I was talking about.

Hypocritical is pissing and moaning about people trolling on your team's thread but turning around and doing some subtle trolling of your own on another team's threads. Predictions aren't trolling, but bringing up past games and ripping fans from a nearly decade old game and discrediting a team for a win is exactly what it looks like. You're not fooling anybody. Maybe yourself, but that's it. -

Saying stuff on another team's thread to get a reaction from their fans.
Sure sounds like trolling to me. -
killer_ewokAnyways, I am worried about this game. This is big because if we win this division game, we can afford a loss to NY and then just take care of business vs. Carolina and Cleveland. #2 seed and a 1st round bye - I'll take that every time.
-
THE4RINGZwe need to work on the running game in this one. Establish the running game sets up the play action.
Pressure Carson and control the air game
However we cannot overlook the Bengals
Play every game. Control your destiny -
AutomatikI very much want a bye.....we sure as hell need it. I honestly don't know how they are going to overcome all the injuries to make a decent run. Whats the word on Aaron Smith?
-
THE4RINGZWe do need some time off to get healthy. We need to keep piecing it together to get to that point.
-
NonThe way the NFL is, something is likely to go wrong.
Or at least it will be nailbiting even if the Steelers take care of business and win the remaining games they need to win.
I don't think there is any question there will be a let down this week. The atmosphere is different at 1 p.m. compared to primetime, it will be a little bit of a lazy feel. -

I think the earliest that likely has the potential to happen is the first week of the playoffs, assuming they stay in the 1-2 seed zone. They and Baltimore are 1-1 against each other. Pittsburgh currently is 3-1 in the division and Baltimore is 2-2, so the Steelers have a one-game lead and the tiebreaker. If Pittsburgh wins their next three (Cincy, Jets, Carolina), one loss by Baltimore would mean the division is clinched. That is possible. But if either half of that doesn't happen, beating Cleveland would be crucial to staying ahead of the Ravens. Also, depending on what New England does, the Steelers may have a slim chance of winning the home field advantage if they go all out in that game. Unlikely due to the one-game lead plus tiebreaker, but you never know, especially the way this season's gone. -

Agreed. The Steelers need the bye.
I don't think they have the team that can make a long run but they might be able to win that divisional playoff game at home and then they'll be in the championship game, and then who knows.
Tomlin said in his press conference that Aaron Smith has been officially cleared to start lifting weights. But Ed Bouchette said that Aaron has already been working out, unofficially, if you will.
It sounds like he's on schedule to return for the playoffs but probably won't play in any regular season games. -
NonI think they'll get a pretty big charge from Smith returning. He's a player the others all like and respect, aside from the fact that he's good and will free up the linebackers to make more plays.

Maybe Pittsburgh will get a break from the officials......well, maybe not. -
Commander of AwesomeGetting Smith back would be a boost, remember last year, they didn't look like the same team without him. I haven't noticed the drop off on the defense this year with his absence, would you attribute that to role players improving, or Troy staying healthy this yr?

Both, but mostly Troy's presence. -
NonYeah, I was going to say that teams are probably looking to pass more on the Steelers because their secondary is weak but they have played some decent running teams like Oakland and Baltimore with Smith out and they've been able to shut down the run. Ziggy Hood has played better this year in his second year.
-
Commander of AwesomeBe interesting to see who they target this year in the draft. I would think a CB to play opposite of Taylor, or even a 3-4 Dline prospect like Heyward from OSU who I think fits their system/what they try to do would be a nice fit. That or some oline help.
-
NonI would say OL or CB.
Mike Pouncey would be a good fit at RG. And then they'd have the kissing brothers playing alongside each other.
Not sure which CB would be worth drafting. Rashad Carmichael from Virginia Tech is somebody that I noticed early in the year but not sure where he'll go, possibly 2nd round. -

After they snatch Larry Fitz from Arizona they should spend every pick on olinemen. -

davekiller_ewok;591870 wrote:Why "should" the Bengals win?
i can see that shield bothering ben. steelers are really beat up. bengals always seem to win meaningless games late in the year. -
Heretic^^
That last one does seem to be true in every year the Bengals don't go to the playoffs. They'll utterly suck for most of the year and then pull off this late-season win streak that gives people that (false) hope they are turning things around and will be in position to contend next year.
