Yup...always someone else's fault why they lose "we keep out playing these teams but can't win!" Maybe you're not actually out playing them then huh?

Did you watch the game asshole? Yes, those goals should have never happened, there were clear cut penalties before each one, but hey, you should know since you watched the game, right? Click on the link I posted, Melrose seems to agree with me that Pittsburgh outplayed Tampa Bay last night. Do us a favor and go post on your NHL thread you dunce!

Rock trying to get off track again I see.

Anyways back to the topic, Trapping was mentioned earlier as a way to defeat the Pens if you get up on them in a game. I'm wondering if Crosby will help fix this in the playoffs, of if its a by product of their system they're runnning in Pittsburgh.

Interesting point you bring up. Crosby might help a bit, but when he was playing the Pens lost in the same fashion. All their games vs the caps especially the dominance of the winter classic is a prime example of this.

Tampa isn't exactly a defensive juggernaut. Stop making excuses with every loss, you must be shocked they don't go 82-0 every year.

Anyways...should be interesting how the penguins close out the year. With their lack of goal scoring it might be hard to hold on to 4th let alone catch philly.

The Devils game from last week when it went 0-0 into a shootout. Bylsma decided to use a neutral zone trap. It wasn't the most exciting game to watch, but it was effective. Bylsma has always struggled against the Wild and Devils.

With a three-point lead with four games to play (five for TB), I think the #4 spot is reasonably secure. If Tampa was super-hot, I'd be worried, but even after last night, they're only 4-3-3 in their last 10 (11 points), compared to Pittsburgh's 6-4-0 (12 points). Especially considering Pittsburgh's final four opponents are against four the five worst teams in their conference. To put it simply, if they fall to fifth with their remaining schedule, they're in BIG trouble coming into the playoffs because either (a) they're horribly slumping or (b) Tampa just got super-hot.

I don't look at catching Philly as being realistic. If they'd won that recent game with them, yes. But now...they're 4 points behind with 4 games to go, with Philly having one more game to play. They'd have to run their schedule and the Flyers would have to completely collapse.

    Solid points.

LOL......COA and Raw Dawg holding a one person coversation!

What's been hurting the Pens the last couple of months is the horrendous power play. The Pens will not go deep into the playoffs unless it's totally retooled and THEY START GETTING THE PUCK TO THE NET MORE.

Who's making excuses dumb ass? They outplayed the Flyers and the Lightning, you keep opening that mouth of yours and you didn't even watch either game.......shut the fuck up!

Pittsburgh is creating a ton of chances, OUT PLAYING the opposition for long stretches of the game, they just can't score goals right now and I believe I have said that quite a few times here recently. Man you're a worthless douchebag troll!

Totally agree, with the way they create chances at full strength one would think that the PP would be smoking but that's simply not the case. The other thing that kills them with the PP being so poor is not only scoring goals but teams will totally disrespect their PP to the point where they think they can take liberties at will and not have to worry about giving up a stupid penalty because Pittsburgh can't cash in, especially in the playoffs.

A -4 goal differential would say otherwise.

hmmmm seems strange they can outplay teams so often and still lose....what a weird phenomenon

    You are clearly blind.

Bylsma record against trapping teams is 4-11.
