This is true he does have a long career a head of him. Also helps he's on a solid team. I can only imagine how much better players like Rick Nash and Jerome Iginla would be if they were playing with guys like the sedins, malkin/crosby or St. Louis. -

Maybe tampa can steal home ice, and Stamkos can make a last minute case for MVP. Pens lock up the 4th seed at best with a win today though.
Stamkos has been ice cold for the past 20+ games. I actually prefer a match-up with TB b/c their defense and Roloson can't be very shaky at times. -

The thing with Nash is that, he seems to not show up every night. He only plays his best hockey on the international level and (Members of HFboards can agree with this) he's needs to start playing up to his 63mil contract. For a cap hit of 7.8mil he needs to do more. -

Rolo is definitely hit or miss. -

Would you with that team? It's hard to bring it every night when you know you're not going to the post seaosn -

Thats bs, the best players play their best regardless. I hope he isn't dogging it on a nightly basis. -

If i were him I'd pull a Carson Palmer. There is a reason they aren't picking up good players through trades and FA, no one wants to go there. I'd rather play for Edmonton or the Islanders, at least they have good young talent and will be good in a few years. -

He's the face of the franchise he needs to be going balls to the wall more than just a couple nights a month. Hell, Vermette had more points than him last year and only had 65 points.
He currently has 66 points but, like I said before he needs to actually earn that contract. With his cap hit he needs to be a PPG player or better. -

Do you know when his contract is up? Is another guy with a long term deal like Ovie, Hossa and Kovalchuck? -

Another gem! Way to go dude! Back to discussion again...rock_knutne;729858 wrote:Thanks for looking in to your crystal ball.
I agree. I would expect a thug NBA player to half ass it every game, not a NHL player though.The_Crosby_Show;729854 wrote:He's the face of the franchise he needs to be going balls to the wall more than just a couple nights a month. If i were him i'd probably be frustrated by the lack of talent being brought in -

I still dont understand how Broussard isn't living up to his potential. I thought he was going to be awesome when we drafted him. -

Talk about wasted potential.... -

From Cap Geek:
He has a cap hit of 7.8mil until the 2017-2018 season.
He signed an 8yr/62.4mil deal. -
rock_knutne2-0 Tampon Bay after one period of play. Two goals that should have never been, Rupp gets crosschecked in to Fleury on the first goal and then Letang was blatantly held right before the second goal. Garbage fucking officiating!
-
rock_knutneStill 2-0 after two periods. Pens out shot the Tampons 13-6 in that period and once again, they just can't put the puck in the net. James Neal has been a beast again but yet again, he can't score. Eventually the tide has to turn and these pucks are going to start going in. Pittsburgh's PP is pathetic, they can't even get set up in the zone. They better get it together before the playoffs, wish Crosby was out there.
-
rock_knutnePens lose 2-1. Mike Rupp scored a fluke goal for the Pens' only score early in the third period. Another tough loss to swallow after the Pens got it together and yet again outplayed the opponent for the majority of the game. I hate to beat a dead horse but this power play has to improve, maybe when Sid returns they will get a spark but it's painfull to watch right now. The other dead horse is the lack of goals, for all the chances the Pens create they can't put it in the goal. I guess if they keep playing this way eventually they will break through.
They can't fuck around these last four games, need points to secure that 4th seed. -
End of LineOnce TB got the lead, they trapped.

Yup, has been the Pen's achilles heel all year. -

It doesn't matter, they were beating that picket fence time and time again to create a ton of chances. The bottom line is they need to find the back of the net.
They seem to go through these kind of scoring droughts every year and not having Crosby or Malkin can't be used as an excuse, they're getting their chances, good ones too. I'll stick my guns, eventually they will break through and start scoring in bunches. -

It honestly has been.
The reason the beat the Devils last week was b/c Bylsma decided to trap as well. He ran a 1-4 fore-check. -
