The closer, the black mamba, the MVP...

Did you watch last year's conference finals? Lebron REFUSED to shake any Magic players hand and walked off, but instead of being labeled as a guy with fire or competitive drive, he's labeled a poor sport.BR1986FB;381636 wrote: I'm SO sick of all of these "ballers" having to be "boys/buddies." Bring back the time where Larry Bird would prefer to punch Jordan in the mouth versus shaking his hand. Pussies....
If Kobe would have done this, he'd of course get all the praise in the world "He just wants to win and has a killer instinct" LOL
The double standard is really funny if you are aware of it, but its cool, I'd rather be the best player in the world than be baby'd by the media. -

Yeah, Lebron walked off the court without shaking hands. So what? One persons "competitive fire" is another persons "pouting fit" in that case. Sure looked like a pouting fit, when it happened, to me.
Lebron doesn't have the balls to stand up to and CALL OUT his teammates when it's ALL on the line. He'd prefer to lose a golden opportunity versus stand up and do something before it's too late. God forbid he'd "rock the boat" and have someone on his team NOT love Lebron. I'd rather be loathed and win than loved and lose. -

Lebron has class, but you've clearly never watched a Cavs game, he's barking at his teammates almost the entire game.BR1986FB;381700 wrote:Yeah, Lebron walked off the court without shaking hands. I can't win with the haters, and neither can Lebron, and you'll have that for as long as he's in the league. -

I don't think anyone is saying that obviously, especially since that series went 5 games and was largely uncompetitive. Apples to oranges.
My point is that if the Celtics win the fact is that neither LeBron nor Kobe could beat them....one just had to play them earlier than the other. -

You obviously have me mistaken for someone else. Been a Cavs fan since you were probably an itch in your daddy's shorts. I just don't fawn all over Lebron and slobber on his nuts like some on here do. I SEE the flaws and I have a newsflash for ya, right now, Kobe Bryant is the BEST in the game. Thought Lebron had taken over that title but nope, still Kobe. -

Delusional.
When you're only argument is based on useless intangibles, it's very sad. -
SQ_CraziesYou thought LeBron had taken over until when? Until he put up 27, 19 and 10 in the last game of the season?
Read those numbers carefully old man, put your glasses on--27, 19 and 10, against POSSIBLY the best team in the game. -
sleeperI wrote this somewhere else, but maybe it will help you understand a little about who the best in the game is. Basically sums up the entire Kobe v Lebron argument.
No one even bothers comparing stats anymore, Lebron dwarfs Kobe in all categories. The rings argument is the only thing Kobe fans have left. First, it was "Kobe is an elite defender, and Lebron only plays on one side of the ball"; 1 year later Lebron gets put on 1st NBA defensive team. Second, "Kobe is the MVP, clearly the best player in the league, Lebron zero MVP's", now Lebron has 2 MVP's and Kobe fans say regular season doesn't matter. The next argument was "Kobe is a better jump shooter, Lebron can only dunk"; now Lebron not only shoots a better FG% but also a better 3-point FG%. Then we had the "Kobe is more clutch, the black mamba"; now any logical fan realizes that Lebron leads the league in 4th quarter scoring and has the 2nd best "clutch" shooting %(behind Carmelo).
They've ran out of everything else, and when Lebron wins his first ring and his first finals MVP, they will find something equally as pathetic. -

Delusional? Why? Because like 99% of the observers of the NBA NOT located in Ohio riding Lebron's nuts I'd rather have Kobe Bryant on my team to close out a game? -

Lebron shoots a better clutch FG% LOL facts. -
sleeperThe whole "closer" mentality is ungodly overrated as well. Kobe makes some tough game winning shots, hits them, and puts chills down your spine. But he also misses a shitload of them. It's simply a product of him being the best player on his team, and when it becomes crunch time he's going to have the opportunities to make those type of shots. He hits it, Lakers fans are all over the place, he misses, Lakers fans don't whisper a peep about it, and he misses way more than he makes.
-
SQ_CraziesBron's been the best in clutch stats for the last 3 or 4 years.

And you? You're just a fucking CLOWN who thinks he knows EVERYTHING when he doesn't know shit. When backed into a corner your usual choice responses include "you're a fucking idiot" or "suck my dick." You rip on the rest of the posters for claiming their IQ's are below 60 when you're the biggest numbnut dumbfuck on here. You're nothing more than a LEBRON JAMES fan, not a CAVS fan. You want to slam peoples intelligence? Try picking a fucking team between the Browns & Steelers who you claim to root for (both isn't possible, retard).
"27, 19 & 10?" If you're the fucking GREATEST player on the planet, score another TEN points (Cavs lost by 9) and WILL your team to victory. Who gives a fuck about his numbers? They LOST. -
SQ_Crazies
Yep, the MVP.
Where the fuck is Sage? The guy who said Griffey was overrated because he had ONE MVP, yet sucks Kobe's nuts because he has 4 rings....what? -

His 19 boards are his only "untouchable" stat of those three, though. The 10 assists were nearly balanced out by his 9 turnovers and his 27 points came on 21 field goal attempts (38.1 percent from the field). It was still a really good game, but had enough flaws to it that I wouldn't use it as validation of his status as best in the game. I know a number of people here are quick to mention things about Kobe getting his points on a very high number of shots taken. -

EXACTLY. Because it's a team game you fuckin' douche.

thedynasty1998I don't even know why you buys bother even responding to SQ? I honestly don't know if I've ever seen him make a valid point in one of his arguments.

Uh oh, dynasty is here. I'm out, can't question his basketball intellect. Just can't question it. Did you guys know he almost played in the NBA?
Don't question him....don't do it. -

Scottie Pippen? -
BR1986FBSportsAndLady;381774 wrote:Scottie Pippen?
I know he had Pippen but if the Bulls needed Jordan to elevate his game to a different level, he did. Seems like only a few years ago Lebron did that in a magnificient game against Detroit in the playoffs. Sometimes the other guys don't have "it" on a given night. That's when the superstar has got to take it upon himself to get it done.
