Game 2-Boston @ Cleveland, Mon. 5/3 8 PM TNT...Cle. up 1-0
-
SQ_CraziesThere isn't "nothing to worry about". But they'll make adjustments and I'm confident in their ability to do it. It's not like we should go into full blow panic mode like most of the people on here seem to be doing--it's 1-1 in a fucking 7 game series.

If they can't get fired up at home, after giving the MVP trophy to Lebron, I don't know how you can expect them to be fired up in BostonSQ_Crazies wrote: do you guys think the Cavs won't be? -
I Wear PantsCavs will lose the series if Lebron keeps playing like he is.

After 2 1/2 quarters, they were down by 18. After 4 quarters, they were down by 18. Nothing changed but a Celtics run and a Cleveland run. -

The game plan of being down at half is a shitty game plan.SQ_Crazies wrote: Actually the way they played at home this season has more to do with now than the Cavs losing 10 of the last 11 in Boston. It's not a difficult place to go in and win.
The Cavs are fine, the game plan is fine, just have to execute. They do most nights, had a shitty quarter tonight and didn't play well enough in the 1st 2 to make up for it--that's all. Freak out if you guys feel like that's what needs to be done but they're fine. You all talk about how fired up the C's will be on Friday, do you guys think the Cavs won't be? -

Yes, yes. You were right. With 6 minutes left in the 3rd, they had played 4 quarters.SportsAndLady wrote:

I'll agree with this....They are definitely fine, but I think the Celts definitely proved tonight that they still have something left in the tank and are capable of pulling off an upset. I'm not saying I think that upset will happen, but Cleveland fans should at least be a little bit concerned. Execution is definitely key and I think the Cavs will do that in crunch time.SQ_Crazies wrote: There isn't "nothing to worry about". SQ_CraziesThe reason I'm not worried is because missing shots is missing shots--it happens. But defense is just about effort, they didn't give it tonight. It's not something they have to pull out of their ass, just something they need to buckle down and do--and they will.

osu45804Rondo... That's all that needs to be said!! 13 points 19 Assists & 4 Boards....... You still wanna say he is overrated you better get your eyes checked.... Cavs are lucky Boston fucked up game 1 and stopped playing they did the same thing tonight they just had a bigger lead and didn't lose it and they HAVE to quit doing that... or they'd be up 2-0 heading home... Bostons defense is absolutely great so far this post-season

NonI agree with Sq Crazies this time.
I watched both games, which is rare since I'm not a huge NBA buff, but it seems like Boston has to play at a nearly flawless level and Cleveland has to struggle significantly for the Celtics to build a comfortable lead. Even in Game 1 when the Celtics were controlling the game it was only like 10 points and when the Cavs stepped it up just a little they were able to put together a mini spurt and bring it back to like four points.
I don't think the Celtics will have another game like this where they get it 20-23 points. Even if they continue to play well the games will be more like Game 1 than Game 2 and the Cavs can win down the stretch, maybe. -
SQ_CraziesLOL, Boston has blown big leads all season. The Cavs came all the way back from down 22 in that last regular season matchup...I'm still shocked that a C's fan just told me the Cavs were "lucky" that Boston gave up the lead in game 1. Shows me how big of a Boston fan you are.

hoops23SQ isn't worried because he's NOT a Cleveland fan.. He's a LeBron fan..
True Cleveland fans have seen this story FAR TOO OFTEN.. There's a reason why we haven't won a title since 1964.
I am going to agree with Footwedge regarding Shaq. He's not a key to this series, we need him to put a body on Dwight Howard (if we make it that far) not Kendrick Perkins...
JJ should be playing 25+ minutes against Boston. Nobody on Boston can stay in front of JJ or keep him from slashing. We HAVE to go small and RUN..
If Mike Brown does not realize this, we may go down 3-1. -

Still a 22 point turn around, good luck to the C's getting them down that much again.
But if you really want to learn something, watch the game. The Cavs got fucked by a few terrible calls that killed their chance to win that game. I'm not bitching about officiating, though it may seem like that, they get some wrong--Cavs never should have been down 22 in the first place in that game but the officials took it out of their hands at the end. -

I disagree. Defense isn't just about effort. I will agree that it doesn't vary the way offense does but teams certaily have on or off defensive games and it doesn't revolve simply around the level of effort a team is putting in. Simply playing hard doesn't make rotations any quicker, hands in passing lanes any more or less prevalent, etc. Some games, teams just operate as if on a string with everyone together. Others they don't. It's just not as easy as looking at a stat sheet and saying, "Well so and so shot 4-15." IMO at least.SQ_Crazies wrote: The reason I'm not worried is because missing shots is missing shots--it happens. But defense is just about effort, they didn't give it tonight. NonThe depth surprisingly might be a problem for the Cavs.
The Celtics did get some good bench contributions tonight but overall their main guys are smart and know what they want to do.
When you keep bringing in new players and they're trying to get acclimated to the flow and gameplan, I'm not sure that's an advantage.
It would be more of one if the pace was quicker but in just halfcourt possession by possession, the Celtics look more than capable of running their offense and knowing where to attack. -
SQ_CraziesHoly shit you guys are dumber than I thought.
JJ got fucking lit up all night tonight. He played terrible defense tonight. -
SageSq is a browns and a steelers fan.
I just want to put that out there. -

It's about effort when you're a great defensive team (check) and it was clear to everyone that you were just lazy on that end all night (check).cview wrote:

Did I say anything about this series being over? And yes Boston quit playing when having a lead it's all to familiar this year. Honestly if you can't see that the Celtics are making the Cavs play at our level and pace then you need your eyes checked.. It's only when we have gotten out of our game and stopped taking it to the whole and letting Rondo do his thing and let the Cavs dictate the pace we look very sloppy.... Do I expect another 17 point game from Sheed? Probably not, but Baby is certainly capable of doing what he did last year in the playoffs.... All I'm saying is we did blow Game 1 and almost blew game 2 by stupid decisions in the 4th.... If we can get both at home that would just be awesome!bulldog8 wrote:

HesstonNot sure how the Cavs could come out so flat.....they need a fire lit under their rear.
