rock_knutneBreaking news.........both Carter and Gagne of Philly will under go surgery for a broken foot. Gagne will be out three weeks, Carter is done for the season.......OUCH. I hope Philly goes back to gooning it up when/if they meet Washington in the next round, might be their only chance.

ptown_trojans_1Ouch, I can't believe the Flyers just dominated the Devils like that. I can;t stand the Devils, so I'm not complaining, but just thought the Devils would go far.
Pens and Sens in OT at 3
Hawks up 1-0 in 1st. -
ptown_trojans_1Hawks cruising, up 3-0, near end of 2.
-
ptown_trojans_1Awesome game with the Pens and Sens. 2nd OT.
Hawks up 3-0 in 3rd.
Avs and Sharks just started, 0-0. -
ptown_trojans_1BTW, good for Pascal Leclaire, former CBJ goaltender. He has played a solid game so far.
-
ptown_trojans_1Hawks tie the series at 2 by blanking the Preds 3-0.
Avs and Sharks still scoreless, 6 left in 1st. -
ptown_trojans_1Sens get one by, staving off elimination. Pens lead series 3-2.
Avs and Sharks scoreless in 2nd. -
ptown_trojans_1Sharks get one earlier in the 2nd and the Avs goaltender Anderson slips and falls on a Sharks PP, Sharks score from. 2-0 Sharks.
8:30 left in 2nd. -
ptown_trojans_1Sharks cruise to a 5-0 win and takes the series lead 3-2. Avs's Anderson was really, really shaky all night.
Tonight could see two more east teams end their series.
Habs at Caps, 7:00pm, Caps lead 3-1
Bruins at Sabers, 7:00pm, Bruins lead 3-1
In the West both series are tied at 2.
Wings at Coyotes, 10:00pm, tied at 2
Kings at Canucks, 10:00pm, tied at 2
I see the Caps sealing it tonight
The Sabers staving off elimination
The Wings take control
and the Kings keep things rolling -
KnightXC1Very inspired effort from the Sens last night and my God LeClaire was good last night. Standing on his head all night long.
-
gorocks99Vanek is likely out again tonight for the Sabres:

LeonardoMontreal leads Washington, 2-0 with 12:37 left in 1st
Buffalo leads Boston, 1-0 with 12:09 left in 1st -

Yeah, he played a hell of a game. The Pens fired 102 shots of which 59 of them found the net. In fact, one could say that was goaltending duel because Fleury made numerous ridiculous saves to keep the Pens alive.KnightXC1 wrote: Very inspired effort from the Sens last night and my God LeClaire was good last night. LeonardoBuffalo def. Boston, 4-1 and they'll play a game six in Boston on Monday night.
Montreal def. Washington, 2-1 and they'll play a game six in Boston on Monday night. -
Heretic^^
I don't think Montreal and Washington will be in Boston...
So far, the NHL has definitely had more entertaining first-round match-ups compared to the NBA. The lower seeds are far more consistently challenging the higher ones and the games are far more tightly contested. That 3OT Pitt-Ottawa game was about 15 heart attacks wrapped around a KFC Double Down (aka: 2 more heart attacks). -
Swamp FoxIn other Hockey news, the Red Wings took the bull by the horns and won a decisive victory over Phoenix to take a 3-2 advantage into their next game in Detroit, where they can clinch the series and move on. Being the eternal pessimist when it comes to Detroit sports, I will be rooting hard but if Detroit falls behind in game six, I may just take a drive and turn back to the game later. They seem to do much better when I'm not watching.
-
KnightXC1^^ They have played 2 very good games in a row and Howard has been spectacular since his awful game in game 3. Phoenix just does not have enough to generate any offense. Wings must continue to play hard and grind against the Coyotes and be patient with the puck. Once you get a lead on Phoenix, it's very difficult for them to recover because they have to abandon their system and takes risks, which so far haven't paid off. That and a 3-25 on the power play will kill any team.
-
ptown_trojans_1The Wings are now starting to get their shit together and play really well. I don't think the Coyotes have the talent or leadership to win another game.
Also last night the Canucks just took the Kings out to the woodshed, winning 7-2 taking a 3-2 lead in the series.
Games today:
On right now on NBC, Game Five: Preds at Hawks, series tied 2-2. Games scoreless 5 minutes in.
Game Six: Pens at Sens, 7:00pm. Pens lead series 3-2.
Game Six: Sharks at Avs: 10:00pm, Sharks lead 3-2.
I see the Hawks, Pens and Sharks winning. -
ptown_trojans_1Preds just get one in, David Legone gets one in from the circle.
1-0 Preds. -
ptown_trojans_1Andrew Ladd of the Blackhawks ties the game at 1. Still 1st period.
-
ptown_trojans_1Hawks just score again, 2-1 Hawks, 4:20 left in 1.
-
End of LinePretty good game so far between the Hawks/Preds.
-
ptown_trojans_1Great flurry of action there.
Good stuff. Still 2-1 in 2nd. -
ptown_trojans_1Hawks score and then the Preds pounce on a Kane mistake and score a short handed goal.
3-2 Hawks, 1:30 left in the 2nd. -
slingshot4everBlackhawks sent the game into OT with a short-handed goal by Kane with only 13 seconds left in the 3rd period.
