End of Line
I consider him the most over-rated player in the league.chicago510 wrote: Big Buff moving back to forward on the top line has really rejuvenated the 'Hawks, especially physically.
Luongo might be an incredible first stop goalie, but he is trash when it comes to rebound control. -
slingshot4everHopefully my Blackhawks can take game 4 on the road tonight and finish the series at home.
-
ptown_trojans_1Bruins and Flyers are on right now.
Recchi with the rebound to the top shelf to put the Bruins up 1-0 in the 1st.
Bruins win, they advance. -
ptown_trojans_1Flyers just tied it, end of 1.
-
ptown_trojans_1Pronger with the shot, and its redirected in.
Flyers lead 2-1, a rare thing in the series. -
ptown_trojans_1Flyers score again after they stopped the Bruins PP.
So far, looks like a Game 5 is in order.
3-1 Flyers. 11:25 left in 2nd, still early though. -
ptown_trojans_1Haha. Bruins get a lucky odd bounce and it is pushed in and by Boucher.
3-2 Flyers. -
End of LinePretty good game so far.....
-
ptown_trojans_1Less than 40 seconds to go and Bruins Recchi hammers one, top shelf, in to tie it. Wow. Flyers thought they had one won.
Overtime. 4-4
Great game. -
ptown_trojans_1Flyers kill a PP and stay alive.
Great, great game.
6:30 left in OT -
ptown_trojans_1Hawks just scored, up 2-1.
-
ptown_trojans_1Flyers, with some nice passing, gets one close to the net and in.
They survive for a game 5. Great game. -
ptown_trojans_1Hawks are pulling away winning 5-2, Toews with a hat trick tonight. Hawks are getting the calls, but they are making the most of them.
2:40 left in 2nd. -
ptown_trojans_1Canucks respond, after killing a long Chicago PP. 5-3
-
chicago510Luongo gives up 6 and the Canucks continue to take boneheaded penalties costing them games.
The Hawks are just the more well rounded team. The Canucks D blows and Luongo is so overrated its painful. The Canucks are good despite him.
Look for the Hawks to close out in 5. -
End of LineCanucks are missing Wille Mitchell, who is their best defenseman, and I'm glad people are starting to realize that Luongo is overrated.
-
ptown_trojans_1Pens win 2-1 and the Sharks beat the Wings 2-1.
The Wings are done and the Sharks advance. Great for the Sharks, who have a horrible playoff record as of late.
It is also great to have the Wings out, so we don't have to sit through another Pens-Wings SCF. -
End of Line^^^^I wouldn't of minded a rubber match between the two
-
KnightXC1It's more frustrating than anything to see a missed call against SJ which should have given the Wings a PP, yet instead the Sharks score about a minute later. After all the talk and whining about going after shots to the head, they miss a blatant one in the middle of the zone on Franzen. Just awful, and all 3 games in SJ had the same thing happen either on a bad call against the Wings or a non call against the Sharks.
Wings deserved better tonight but faceoffs killed them in this series. Whether the Sharks were using an advantage or not, Wings lost this series on faceoffs and spotty goaltending in the first 3 games from Howard. If Jimmy doesn't allow that tying goal in game 3, they are coming back to Detroit Monday down 3-2. But that's how it goes.
For all the adversity they had this season with injuries, a rookie goalie, free agency, and everything else, to get to the conference semis as the 5 seed was wonderful. My fandom now goes to Boston, Montreal, and Chicago in that order. -
End of LineI counted them out during the season, and I was shocked they made it this far.
Knight, doesn't Franzen have a history of head problems, or is that Holmstrom. -
KnightXC1Holmstrom got knocked out by Pronger in 07 in the conference finals but other than that don't remember anything for him. Franzen had a concussion I believe during the Cup run of 08 but didn't miss too much time. Just a lousy missed call night.
-
ptown_trojans_1Agreed that I was surprised they made it this far. I've learned to never count the Redwings out. They are always dangerous in the playoffs and can be expected to give a team a tough series. It was just they ran into a better, healthier team.
But also, go San Jose. Given all their recent playoff troubles, it is really good to see them in the WCF.
I hope they play the Hawks, cause I think that would be a great series.
One game tonight,
Game 5, 8:00pm. 3. Canucks at 2. Hawks, Hawks up 3-1. The Hawks can close it out tonight. I think they do and set up the WCF.
Update of the series:
East:
4. Pens vs. 8. Habs, Pens lead 3-2
6. Bruins vs. 7. Flyers, Bruins lead 3-1
West.
1. Sharks. vs. 5. Wings, Sharks win 4-1
2. Hawks vs. 3. Canucks, Hawks lead 3-1 -
Strapping Young LadWonder if a 1 has ever played an 8 in the SCF's. I doubt it. But It's still possible for this year.
Also, anyone else pissed that douchebag changed the names of the conferences and division? What a dumbass. -
KnightXC1ptown - Wings were completely healthy for the playoffs, Stuart got banged up but played really well last night. Wasn't like last year where half the team was hurt throughout the playoffs or had surgery after the season and still got to the Finals. If the Sharks play the Hawks, I will take Chicago in 6 due to experience and the fact SJ will not continue to win only playing 2 lines basically.

End of LineI saw the replay of the hit from Murray on Franzen, and it was cheap as hell.
