They are doing this because the event itself, an officer killing an unarmed black citizen, is extremely rare that in order to keep the facade going they protest no matter what. Just last night, some well-meaning people decided to call attention to themselves and disrupt the Columbus city council happen. One classic soundbeat on TV this morning featured a small girl - 7 or 8 years old, cute as a button - who said in a small voice that she was now afraid to go outside because the cops will shoot her.
Where does she get that idea? From her parents, community members, and others that have fed her a false narrative - that her skin color alone will result in her being killed - not her behavior. Now I don't know anything about her or her folks, I prefer to think she's on the straight and narrow., and is just being fed crap by others who are blinded by their own failure to acknowledge where the problem is, and who is causing it. -

What you should teach them, in this situation, is to sit in the car, roll down your driver's window and put both hands on the steering wheel when the officer comes up to your door. If you have a weapon, disclose this while both hands are on the steering wheel.....DO NOT get out of the car, root through your glove box, etc.
Do this and you will not get hurt.

If my friend would have shut the fuck we would have never been in that situation. Furthermore my black roommate was just recently pulled over in DC (high black population if you didn't know) and he somehow was treated fairly. Crazy, I thought all cops were going out of their way to pull out their guns on black people.
