We did a 3 day van tour out of Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye. It was pretty cool. Went to a lot of small towns with hole in the wall pubs, and the countryside was amazing. It was by a company called Rabbies. We were only in Scotland for a week so besides that, another tour to St. Andrews, and spending time in Edinburgh we didn't do much else. Liked it a lot.

SA only redeeming quality is the river walk, but that is a really nice quality. The rest of the city I never need to see again.

Also, not sure where to post this...but just sat next to Wendell Pierce (aka Bunk from Wire). Funny guy. Said his cigars were for character and he hates smoking them, and producers were cheap, so bought him $2 cigars and kept reusing the nicer labels lolol.

Yeah, the river walk was cool. But the food options weren't great. We went to a Mexican restaurant and it wasn't very good and it was one of the better rated places.

    Got out just in time:

San Antonio police officer Miguel I. Moreno, who was hit by gunfire during a Thursday shootout in downtown San Antonio, died of his injuries on Friday, the department announces.

went in January and I bet the riverwalk is awesome in the warmer months. Was disappointed in the food as well. The Alamo was cool but sround it too touristy. We went to another Mission that was much more impressive than the Alamo.

    Question for all of you:

An annual meeting you typically attend where you act as a company rep (not solo) in scheduled for Seoul. Your company doesn't require you to go. Do you go or not given the status of North Korea or do you not care because you wouldn't be in NK?
  • iclfan2
Paid for? I'd go anywhere company paid for except North Korea or some terrorist Middle East place. I'd have to do research on how safe it is though.

I would go. My friend goes to Seoul all the time on business and never has issues.

If you are asking simply because of the security I would say don't be a ***** and just go. If it is because you have gone before and it is more of a been there, done that and you don't want to go again I would say.....Don't be a ***** and go for the free trip

    Easy decision, go.

Tons of friends (my wife's and I) live in Seoul. They love it.

    No way would I go.

On a related note, my company is trying to send me to PHX for a few days this fall. Told them no way would I go. You know how close that is the border with Mexico? Yeah I know. No thanks.

So, I have a very random question:

In Colmar, France...went into an old bookstore and found a 1924 paperback copy of Oscar Wildes "The Portrait of Dorian Gray". Anyone know what that might be worth? It was on sale for 380 euros. I took some pictures, but not sure how to post from phone.

Also bought some original water paintings of the town in 1944 and 1957 for 70 euro total.

Thinking about buying an original poster from Reagans visit to Strasbourg in 1985. It's in French and basically says, Welcome Ronald, to Strasbourg!!

A quick google search says it is not worth 380 euros. The Reagan poster sounds legit, I would get that.

Thanks. They also have a few Shakespeare ones that seem old as hell (my guess is late 1800 or early 1900, but I can't find a publishing date (maybe a sign of how old they are lol). But, they are super pricey. Romeo and Juliette is 1,200 euro...which I can't part with. Plus it's in French so I couldn't even read it if I ever wanted to lol.

Some book value website called Biblio says a paperback copy in fair condition from 1930 is worth $120.

If Rebecca from Pawn Stars has taught me anything, it's that book's usually aren't worth money and if they are it better be first edition in excellent condition.

Lol, I'm a moron. It's a hardcover. I'd say very good or better condition. So maybe it's listed about right.

    Flying to Barcelona this afternoon!
