You are in luck. They do have (high priced) alcohol everywhere and it is needed.

I have one boy (8) & one girl (10). My son actually liked Hollywood Studies and Animal Kingdom more than the Magic Kingdom -less princess stuff and more boy stuff. Hollywood Studies has alot of the new Star Wars movie things at the park he liked.

We were just there last in June (way to hot of a time to go!). They now send you bracelets for your tickets, FastPasses, and also able to pay for everyting with them that is very cool. There is app and website now to book the FastPasses which you get 3 a day. Make sure you download the app/use the website to book the rides you want FastPasses for before you go as well.

My wife and some friends wanted to get Universal annual passes, so we've been there 4 times this year. I've found if you just get a beer every time you get off a ride (~hourly) the whole day is much more enjoyable. It's about $8 a beer for the 1 local IPA they have.

Drink plenty of Guinness and Beamish. The Guinness brewery tour is worth it. And I'm sure you'll find yourself at The Temple Bar.

Do you mean Charleston, SC? Never heard of Charlestown, NC. If SC, let me know if you need recommendations.

I'm going to Ireland with my gf and she has a ton of things planned (she's been there before and still has family there). So I know we have plans but not exactly sure what. I know it will almost all include drinking though..and I know we are doing the Guinness tour one of the days. I'm pretty pumped to go, it'll be my first trip overseas.

And wow no clue why I said Charlestown lol I will be in Raleigh, NC for a wedding.

I'm in the process of renewing my passport right now. I thought it was 6 weeks turnaround. Well it's fucking 8. I leave in exactly 2 months. Can't chance it, so I have to tack on another $60 to the fee.

Protip: If your passport has less than 6 months of eligibility left some countries can refuse entry. I had no idea about this until recently. My friend was leaving in 2 weeks for somewhere in the Caribbean and it was a place that would adhere to the 6th month rule. He had to pay out the ass to get an even faster version of expedited processing.

Gotcha. Cool town too, good beer and BBQ close by. You'll definitely have fun in Ireland. Bars everywhere and beautiful scenery.

I'll have to check out the bar in Ireland you mentioned earlier. I honestly know very little about Ireland other than I'm going to drink a lot of beer.

My wife and I got the TSA pre-check. $85 and good for 5 years. We have kids in Providence RI, Bedminster NJ, and kid and grandkids in Savannah GA. So we will be doing a lot of traveling and making it easier on us at the airports.

I live in Raleigh. Let me know what recommendations you'd like. And where everything is happening. I can give you lots of food and drink options (for a wedding, you won't want any other recomendations lol). Also, have a heat time overseas. Traveling to Europe is so cool, especially if you care at all about history. So much in every building over there.

A few years back we walked down to the harbor from that area (we were closer to Rogers Centre because we went to a Blue Jays game later that night) and took a boat tour through the Toronto Islands, it was on Groupon for half off. It was a nice way to blow a few hours.

Definitely not a 6 week turnaround. I just did mine, had it in 2 weeks.

Money grab. It takes like 10-15 days total.

I'll be in Vegas in a little over a week to watch UFC 202.

In April were going to another all inclusive but haven't decided which one.

Went to Lake Tahoe the last two days. Pretty awesome place and really close to Carson city so went and checked out the bunny ranch. Didn't go in, but drove up to it. I actually didn't even know what this was... my wife explained it.

Doing Vegas in December with our base softball team.

Then we move again in February so hopefully a nice across the country trip where we can visit places along the way.

Beginning of June, my best friend and I did a little road trip. I went from central Kansas to Dayton for a wedding. Stopped in Indianapolis to see a friend first. Then, picked up my buddy on a Sunday, started the road trip.

Sunday we went from Columbus to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Spent some time there. Then, drove across the interstate through Syracuse and Albany, shot north into Vermont. Stayed on the side of a road there. Woke up Monday to some beautiful scenery and a tremendous crab cakes eggs benedict. Went across Vermont through New Hampshire into Maine where we spent a few hours, definitely got a lobster roll (delicious). From there, we shot south to get into Boston, which was our original destination. Met up with a friend of mine, who is a Boston local. He took us around and let us crash at his place Monday night. Tuesday, got up, drove through Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut to get to NYC. Only reason we wanted to go there was for the 9/11 Memorial. Left NYC after a few hours to go to Philly for a few hours. Then, drove across Pennsylvania for a bit, got tired of paying tolls, went some other roads. Actually went to Hershey on our way to Pittsburgh. Stayed at hotel then headed back west (Columbus first then central Kansas). It was a looooooong road trip, but fun and worth it. Crossed off Vermont, NH, and Maine in my state list. Ate some great food.

It was a spur of the moment road trip, with really no aim but to see the states a little. We were shooting to go into Canada, but I didn't get my passport in time. It would have looked a little different than it ended up being, because we would have went to Montreal and down through Toronto instead of hitting Pennsylvania twice. Probably will plan a trip another trip with my buddy again next summer. He just went to Wisconsin for the first time last week, which is one of my favorite states to spend time in.

    That makes no sense.

The bunny ranch is the brothel that's I Nevada. I guess there was a tv show about it. Apparently I'm not the only person who had no idea what it was lol

Same here. Wife and kids had to get passports for our trip to Mexico last month and they got theirs back in 3 weeks.

I've heard it depends on the time of year. Now I'm conflicted.

Wait, why did you drive there if you didn't know what it was?
  • Midstate01
My wife did. She used to watch the show. We were in carson city and she wanted to drive to it.

She should have let you go in for your troubles of just driving there. Can I ask what you thought it was when she said you were going to "Bunny Ranch"
  • Midstate01
Haha I think she talked about the show first. Then said how it was close to us at Lake Tahoe. I literally had no idea prostitution was legal anywhere in the USA. Crazy though, these are mostly students or people who have other jobs but want to experience it and go whore it up. Probably make some crazy money too. I was just shocked.

I will likely be taking two trips out west per year, minimum. One into LAX and one into McCarran. So, that makes 10 trips in five years. This sounds like it might be worth it.

How long and time-consuming is it to get one? And what do you do at the airport once you have it?
