I'll be in Northwest Atlanta, Cobb Galleria Centre, next week for a few days for a work conference. I have never been. Does anybody have any places, food wise, bars, etc. to see while I am there?

Just got back from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge on Sunday. Had a good time. Not the most flashy of destinations, but still a cool place.

Definitely the best way to put it. I like the area too. Been awhile since I've visited, but I've wanted to take the family for the last several years. Cabins in the mountains are typically real nice.

When you are in the middle of nowhere without trees and hills/mountains, that scenery is missed A LOT!

Definitely. Also get to miss the post election news cycle, I'm envious. Have a great time over there.

Being in Ireland during this election has been awesome.

Trying to limit my social media exposure.

It's also cracked me up, probably a dozen Irish people, after they figure out we are American, have said in an exciting voice, "hey Donald trump, congratulations!" And my gf is a huge Hillary supporter and was practically in tears hearing the news trump won. Lol

She's going to murder someone soon.

Yeah, we rented a cabin from Cabins For You. It was actually in Sevierville(sp?). About a 5 minute drive to Gatlinburg once you get down from the cabin to Parkway.

We didn't do too much, which was fine with me. We spent the day Friday mainly on Gatlinburg. Did some wine and moonshine tastings. I was there as a little kid and the only thing I remember is the Medieval Times style dinner thing we did. But I didn't see that this time, not sure if it's gone or what?

We will probably make a return trip in the coming years, as it's easy to get to and relatively cheap.

I'm staying at a house in the middle of the Nantahala Forest in NC for the next 4 days. No cell phone service, no television, and 30 minutes to the nearest (small) grocery store. Going to do a lot of hiking during the day and drink a lot of alcohol by the fire pit at night.

Booked a house for Stowe, VT over MLK weekend. I've never been, looking forward to it.

Still deciding on a trip for late spring, definitely somewhere warm.

Hour 4 of 16 for us. Going to try to drive straight through I think.
  • Iliketurtles
16? Damn no way I'm doing that straight through. I have to drive 10 hours and that almost all I can do.

Fuck driving anything over 5 hours for me. I rather fly. Props to you road warriors.

8-9 is my max. My dad lives outside of Raleigh and the drive there is about all I can handle, which is about 8.5.

Headed to Vegas from the 14th to the 18th of next month. It'll be my first time trying out AirBnB. Got a condo just off the strip for a friggin' steal.

Anyone else used them? Any bad experiences? Good ones?

We would too for sure. Have two dogs now that we didn't want to board for 10 days.

I've used it in Nashville, Miami, New Orleans, and Gulf Shores. Never had an issue. The Miami condo was a hell of a deal, ended up being essentially a penthouse South Beach shoreside for 4 nights, $1500 split three ways.

Otrap-bnb is great. I've never had a bad experience with them other than what I've done and they just charged me for it. For example, not taking out the trash, drinking their liquor, etc

I pretty much only use Bnb now.
