I rewatched the entire series as I've watched season 5, and I've watched every season 5 eps. at least twice. It has made the storyline make a lot more sense, and I have been able to piece things together a lot better. It's made Season 5 a lot more bearable.Raw Dawgin' it;1731088 wrote:I may wait until the next 3 episode air and watch them back to back to back. I think this show is better binge watching than watching week to week. I actually haven't enjoyed this season, but I assume with 3 episodes left there has to be some loops closed. There is so much left open right now and each episode only raises more questions. I've said before, I'd have no problem with the writers of the show just throwing out the books and have them push original plots, especially when the books gets slow like this. -

One thing I do is read a recap of the episode which helps keep names/faces straight, and bring everything together. And I've mentioned it before, but the "Ask the Maester" weekly feature on Grantland is great to help explain things as well without any spoilers. For instance, this week he explained who Aemon was, his life, family tree, etc. It's amazing how detailed the backstory is on all characters.Raw Dawgin' it;1731088 wrote:I may wait until the next 3 episode air and watch them back to back to back. I agree with those being big events that have happened but have nothing to do with the question I asked. I was looking for opinions on what big name/s people think is going to get killed off because we all know a main character is going to die before the season is done.ernest_t_bass;1731084 wrote:While no murders, I think the imprisonment of: Jaimie, Bron, Cersei, Margery, Loras, Jorah, Tyrion, basically Sansa... those are all pretty big. -

gutI guess Winter is finally here.
No idea what happened with Jon and his sword there - Valerian steel forged with dragon fire maybe? -
Laley23Good to see Thrones remember how to be the best show on TV.
That was awesome. -

The scene with Dany and Tyrion was great, as well.Laley23;1731762 wrote:Good to see Thrones remember how to be the best show on TV.

The more Tyrian dialogue the better. Same with Jon Snow in general. Those are by far my 2 favorite characters, which made this episode amazing.gut;1731767 wrote:The scene with Dany and Tyrion was great, as well.
Just nice to finally be moving forward. -

Yeah, I've lost interest in most of the other stories, or they've just gone stale. But they did advance them all with classic GoT efficiency tonight.Laley23;1731770 wrote:The more Tyrian dialogue the better. Same with Jon Snow in general. And I really thought for a minute there Jon Snow was a goner - you never know with this show.
But, LOL at Dany making Tyrion her adviser. A drunken, unshaven and scarred dwarf of the people who killed your family shows up and you decide "hmmm, this is the most qualified candidate!" Or probably just Tyrion interviews a lot better than I do. -
Classyposter58That show was incredible. Best part about this episode I think is the sense of impending doom the white walkers put in you. Yeah there's wars for the throne but the white walkers are by far the most terrifying thing in the show

AutomatikNo one should be complaining after that one.

I think it's a combo of that, and the fact that Jon Snow has the blood of the dragon(Targaryan), or at least that's what I've assumed from the big ass hints they've dropped.ernest_t_bass;1731791 wrote:It's a Valerian steel sword. AutomatikMy two fav parts. The giant asking the crow "wtf you looking at?"
And of course when the dead rose up and the boss man stared down Jon Snow....so badass. -
Laley23Jon Snows look of absolute terror at the end was fantastic.

I watched that scene again today and I don't think that white walker was actually trying to kill Jon. He came up behind him and easily could have killed him but just threw him across the room. Then he had another clear shot and just hit him with the butt of his weapon.gut;1731771 wrote:And I really thought for a minute there Jon Snow was a goner - you never know with this show.

I think that's just "Hollywood" with the bad guy easily killing off randoms then when a main character steps up to the plate, it seems like the bad guy could kill him multiple times but won't.
