Yeah, shit is definitely gonna go down. I haven't read the books so I like being clueless.SportsAndLady;1730166 wrote:I like how things are unfolding but eventually something has to full on happen lol. There seems to be a lot of good "build up" but in the past it's been an episode or maybe two of build, then in the next episode shit goes down. This whole season has been a build up. Just ready for some shit to go down.

I'm glad the Bran storyline is MIA this season, it was boring. On the contrary, Sansa's, which was lame, is now getting good. -
gutEhh, I think some things are unfolding decently enough (Jaimie and Sansa). Danny and her dragons have done shit for like 2+ seasons. And Tyrion's journey is a bit dragged out, some medieval version of planes/trains/automobiles. Arya's plot is also dragging. Tommen/Cersei and Jon Snow haven't done a lot.
Honestly, the last 4-5 episodes have moved at a pace typically covered in 1-2 episodes. Besides action, the other thing missing is great dialogue. -
AutomatikNo action?
What about Unsullied vs the Sons of the Harpy? That was insane. -
ernest_t_bassWhat I've read on another site...
The first three books were action packed, therefore, the series had plenty to keep audience glued. The last two, plus waiting on fat man to finish WOW, is drawwwwwwwwwn out. Apparently they've cut a ton of shit out of the books, and if they didn't, it'd be 10x worse than it already is.
I'm enjoying this season for what it is... but if they pull freaking sand-snake shit again... that was the worst. -
bases_loadedIts been kinda nice not losing a favorite character. It seems like its really building up...I will be let down if shit doesn't hit the fan the last couple of episodes.
-
AutomatikI'd like to see Ramsey get what's coming to him. Sick bastard.
-
Laley23The rest of the series did not have just a single episode. Hell, last year we had Joffry death, mountain vs oberyn and the battle at the wall.
This year, nothing of note. It's had some decent stuff, but nothing in comparison to other years. -

Benny The JetMaybe I missed an explanation at the end of Season 4...but have the touched on Bran or Hodor? Or are they just acting like it never happened? I don't remember them trying to tie it in at all this season. Last I remember they were at a tree.
-
AutomatikIt might have been said here, but I think he's hiding away learning mind control or some shit like that.

No, they have not. They're just leaving it at that. Wights got Jojen, they're at the Weirwood with the three-eyed crow/raven, etc.Benny The Jet;1730195 wrote:Maybe I missed an explanation at the end of Season 4...but have the touched on Bran or Hodor? The new Manhattan Buckeye everyone! He just can't resist.ernest_t_bass;1730192 wrote:Wait for it...
Plenty has happened this year - Harpy fight killing Ser Bariston, Tyrion getting kidnapped, Faith militant taking over Kings landing, etc. It just hasn't been that entertaining, and based on past episodes the stakes have to be ridiculously high to get viewers to perk up. -

I agree. I'm fine with what has happened this season. I don't care for the whole Sparrows shit, though.Zoltan;1730202 wrote:Plenty has happened this year - Harpy fight killing Ser Bariston, Tyrion getting kidnapped, Faith militant taking over Kings landing, etc. It just hasn't been that entertaining, and based on past episodes the stakes have to be ridiculously high to get viewers to perk up. -

There's nothing crazy in the books of note, not like the first 3. I'm not going to spoil anything but the 4th and 5th books are more developmental than the first 3.Laley23;1730189 wrote:

Yeah. The way it went was that Martin had a lot of shit for book 4, so that regular book-binding wouldn't be humanly possible. So book 4 got divided into 4 and most of 5 (the last 1/3 of 5 was essentially how 5 probably would have started). For the most part, that's where the show is right now. Which wouldn't be horrible in itself, but like you said, this part is the "world-building/calm between the storms" part of things overall, so to have it get so bloated in writing did make those two a bit more of a chore to get through, depending on the character and how interesting I found their exploits.lhslep134;1730215 wrote:There's nothing crazy in the books of note, not like the first 3. I couldn't give two shits about the book and would have no problem if they stopped following it.Heretic;1730221 wrote:Yeah. They seem to be doing that more and more as time goes on. A lot of the newer plot arcs have not been implemented yet, and with how the main characters have essentially danced past where they'd intersected with many of those, they probably won't be. And by putting Sansa with Ramsey, they took her away from essentially doing nothing for an eternity to being right in the middle of the action (by putting her in the place of a much less important character). To me, it seems like they're doing a good job of cutting through stuff that would be tiresome and streamlining things nicely.Raw Dawgin' it;1730233 wrote:I couldn't give two shits about the book and would have no problem if they stopped following it. -
AutomatikTyene Sand. Yes please.

Looks like Missandei has competition for best body in the show. But I still give the nod to slave girl.Automatik;1730890 wrote:Tyene Sand. Yes please. -
RotinajSo, only 3 episodes left and nobody special has been randomly murdered yet. Any guesses? It better not be fucking John Snow.

While no murders, I think the imprisonment of: Jaimie, Bron, Cersei, Margery, Loras, Jorah, Tyrion, basically Sansa... those are all pretty big.Rotinaj;1731074 wrote:I'm talking about a big name, not the advisor of a big name. -
Raw Dawgin' itI may wait until the next 3 episode air and watch them back to back to back. I think this show is better binge watching than watching week to week. I actually haven't enjoyed this season, but I assume with 3 episodes left there has to be some loops closed. There is so much left open right now and each episode only raises more questions. I've said before, I'd have no problem with the writers of the show just throwing out the books and have them push original plots, especially when the books gets slow like this.
