Game of Thrones: Season 5 SHOW Thread (No Spoilers)

No comments? Really? Solid, solid premiere. Pumped for the season.

What stood out for me was Hot Slave Girl's hopes and dreams smashed :RpS_love:

Thought it was a solid episode.

I just hate throat slicing scenes. Ugh
  • Classyposter58
Yeah definitely a terrific season premiere

My roomie was in an uproar and all "omg" during that scene. I don't see the big deal.

I thought it was pretty hot. I got half-a-chub.

As a straight male it's gross. But so are a million other things like throat slicing, Tyrion puking, guy getting burnt to death, etc. That's one of the reasons people watch GOF, it has a shock factor.

Any comments on this week's show? Pretty fucking sweet Drogon scene. Not enough n00ds this week, but at least there was no man ass.
  • Rotinaj
I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes and only have 1 small complaint. Not a single scene with the White Walkers. Hopefully we see something soon.

    I thought Ep2 was slow....bit of a transition. Danny's story was good.

Impossible to tell, but it seemed like maybe Drogon is no longer much bigger than the other two dragons....I don't know, maybe he's as big as a house and they're as big as a bus (for some that may be a distinction without a difference).

Haha, fair enough. It was a boring episode - Tyrion drinking (as usual) and riding in a carriage...Arya riding in a boat....Briene riding a horse...Danny standing around talking.

I also wondered if that giant iron statue is anatomically correct - because I think it would be hilarious to pass under and look up to see a giant iron **** and balls.

Agree the episode was a little slow. Wasn't one of the worst GoT episodes but still not a great one.

This is great feature Grantland does every week. Readers ask questions about the previous episode, and this guy does a great job of explaining back stories without any spoilers.

Haven't seen the show discussed in a while - figured I'd bump since Sansa getting raped has been such a big issue. I think it could've been implied instead of actually listening to her scream while Reek watches. Unless Reek or Sansa kills Ramsey it seems like a pointless scene since we already know Ramsey is a lunatic.

I like the show, but I think it has way too many story lines for a 10 episode show. There is way too much going on.

I agree with your last sentence. It's pissing me off.

As far as the Sansa rape, it mirrors the book in a way, however it doesn't happen to Sansa. I'm riding the fence on it, as it was her wedding night. She bent over... she didn't say no. It was just brutal on his part. She was shocked, but she did not fight it. No different that Dany getting "raped" in season 1.

I didn't think of it as a rape scene but i could see how you could say it was.

This season has been kind of annoying to me. A lot is just not happening. Normally I'm okay with that in this show but something about this season. So many story lines I'm just so bored of.

What's currently happening on this show is a reason why I would love to see either longer episodes, or an elongated season, say 15 eps.

    - Winterfell - Sansa/Ramsey/Reek, Brienne/Pod, Stannis on his way, The North Remembers, etc.
    - King's Landing - Cersei being Cersei, Tyrell's being bitch slapped, Tommen being a *****, sparrows (or whatever the fuck they're called)
    - Dorne - Dorne
    - Braavos - Get on with it. HOBaW, Meryn, etc.
    - Mereen - Dragons, Pits, Dragons, Tyrion/Jorah/Herp, Dragons, Unsullied, Dragons
    - Wall - Stannis is gone, John heading north, John bouta get [edited], etc.

WTF else am I missing beside WW north of the wall?

This times 1000. The Arya storyline is drawn out and kind of boring and how does a show with dragons have them be such a lame story line? Also, the scene in Dorne was a big let down to me. I think there is just so much going on that details and depth are sacrificed.

I considered it a rape scene only because it's give it up to Ramsey or say no, then most likely get beaten, and give it up to him anyways. Either way, was pretty brutal listening to her scream while Theon just cries and does nothing. I think it'll just lead to Ramsey dying though.

Tyrion and Jorah. Also, is Varys still just roaming around looking for Tyrion?

I had Tyrion and Jorah mixed in with the Mereen storyline, but you're right... they deserve their own.

Can you edit my quoted text? Didn't realize I had a spoiler in there. See my original for the edit.

How is it rape if its their wedding night and every single wedding night is followed with a fuck
