Donald Sterling banned for life by NBA

You have to look at the merits of this on its own. I mean is it good enough to not act like a racist?...or does a person have to have pure thoughts too? These comments of his were obviously not meant to be public, but were exposed by treachery, deceit and unlawful recording. There are a lot of reasons why a person of his age could harbor some racist tendencies...is a man liable for thoughts...or actions?
It's certainly crazy that the recording of a private phone conversation has led to all of this. Not a legal expert, but I imagine -- and hope -- that Sterling will attempt to ruin this gold-panning tramp to the point that she begs for mercy. As far as I know, it is almost always illegal to secretly record a phone conversation (although there might be certain scenarios where it is not; this seemingly not being one of them). The damages suffered by Sterling are fairly grave..

    Only in 2 party states.

Ohio for example, if I call you, I can record the call without telling you. Unless law has changed here recently.

^^^pretty sure you have to notify. "This call may be recorded for XXX purposes"

I did find David Alridge's unbelievable emotional pregame report about his seven-year-old son asking if daddy was going to be allowed at the Clippers game since he was black extremely sentimental. I'm cynical as fuck, but that story almost sounded made up or embellished to me. But as I said, I'm a very disillusioned individual and skeptical of most people's motives.

Ohio's wiretapping law is a "one-party consent" law. Ohio law makes it a crime to intercept or record any "wire, oral, or electronic communication" unless one party to the conversation consents. Ohio Rev. Code § 2933.52. Thus, if you operate in Ohio, you may record a conversation or phone call if you are a party to the conversation or you get permission from one party to the conversation in advance. That said, if you intend to record conversations involving people located in more than one state, you should play it safe and get the consent of all parties.

No problem. Been a few years since I've had to have a working knowledge of that, so wasn't sure if it had changed.

I would imagine Sterling will get every dime the woman made by "leaking" the recording. She will be bankrupt, because she is not worth what he has lost do to this.

All that said, I still dont understand why people cant wrap their heads around why the NBA is getting rid of him.

Have an image to uphold, Silver had to make a huge impression to define himself as well.

Ha-ha! David Alridge exposed for the fraud that I believed he is.

Prior to the game Alridge reported about some somber story about how the Clippers were set not to play tonight unless Donald Sterling was removed from power.

DeAndre Jordan after the game tonight, when asked by Alridge when the team decided it was going to play tonight: "We were always going to play."

    Idiot.

when all else fails call black people animals in a last ditch effort to get someone to call you a racist so you can go on your weekly rant about how everytime a white person says something critical of blacks they are racist. epic fail.

Indirectly yes. The chances of us "nobodies" having something said in private come back to haunt us are significantly less, and we are going to have fewer entities that care about what we say on our own time.

I kinda laughed at the reports yesterday of clippers players set to boycott the game if the suspension of sterling didn't happen.

    Riiiiight.

It doesn't make it any better, there's just less people looking to hold people like us to an elevated standard because we don't do shit like own a professional sports team

    I'm not disagreeing with that.

My point is no one can talk shit about what kind of person he is b/c we all do the same thing.

That being said, there are consequences in life and he's going to deal with them now.
But don't act for one second like this man is any worse than you.

The public and fans should demand that the "N" never to be used ever again in the NBA by any and all players. This will be reason for being ban from the NBA for live...... What’s good for the goose is good for the gander ….

You don't see it as the same level b/c you don't see it that way. I've said man i hope those jehovas witnesses don't come to my door again. Most people wouldnt think anything of it. How bought if I said man i hope no blacks come to my door today.. is that level of hatefullness higher?
Bingo. Hatefulness is defined by liberal group think nowadays. The thought police have taken over. Heck we just had the CEO of Mozilla forced out because years ago he donated $1,000 to California Prop 8. So, if you are a Catholic and believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, you can now be stripped of your livelihood for your views. This isn't the United States of America anymore, that is for damn sure.

i heard it would cost him 200-300 mil in taxes to transfer ownership to his family before he dies because of the value he paid and what its worth now. so most likely he will remain banned and fight this until his death. he may last long enough in courts to live out his life as the owner
