Donald Sterling banned for life by NBA

I hope he fights the NBA until he fucking dies.

While I understand that Adam Silver simply made the decision today that was best for his own welfare (to keep the race-baiting leaches and the growing lynch mob at bay), the guy just came across as a spineless coward. It still baffles me that he pretended not to know that Donald Sterling had ever been considered a racist. An embarrassing moment for an organization (the NBA) that was scrambling under pressure to placate to the African American mob squad.

Remember how quickly Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Stephen A. Smith were on flights to Durham, North Carolina, to get the Duke lacrosse program shut down and its players imprisoned, over an alleged gang rape of a black girl that in the end never happened and the girl admitted to making up? Lol at these fucking race bullies and their scare tactics. People like that will never change and, as such, racism -- the very thing they are apparently trying to end -- will never truly die. Like others have said here already, guys like Al Sharpton and Spike Lee are every bit as bigoted (if not even moreso) as someone like Donald Sterling or Marge Schott.

And how racist a guy actually is who hired a black head coach and openly fucks African-American/Latino chicks is up for debate.

    Wow that's delusional haha

Are you pretending to be extremely ignorant or actually being serious? He was convicted of literally discriminating against minorities in housing. It's not up for debate how racist he is LOL

Back to al sharpton when things get tough eh

I added that last part more tongue-in-cheek. I've already stated several times that Sterling is a racist. That's not really a mystery. Did you read the rest of my post? About Adam Silver being a coward for feigning ignorance about Sterling's past transgressions? In fact, I was one of the first ones here to point out the comments he made regard to his practice of not renting out rental properties to black people.

I think I've made it clear in my posts that I understand and believe that Donald Sterling is a racist (which is why I find the commisioner's decision today so hypocritical). That comment was sort playing off another post above. It wasn't intended to be serious. Probably just didn't word it right.

I don't know if it's been posted or not, but this happens in a matter of days (the banning, fine, etc.) due to private conversation (of which I do not condone) but...the NFL has went how many years with a blatantly racist mascot with Dan Snyder and Washington DC's football team.

Clearly there is something wrong with where these two leagues are at.

Rec's last paragraph aside, I agree with him.

honest question... would this be still in the news and would the NBA ban him if he told his gf to quit hanging out with Jews or Catholics?

Read that earlier, very well said by Kareem.

Taping somebody without their consent is creepy as fuck.

    Probably not.

For example: Adam Silver comes riding in on his white horse today to proclaim, "The views expressed by Mr. Sterling are deeply offensive and harmful. That they came from an NBA owner only heightens the damage and my personal outrage."

Lol what about when Sterling, uncovered in court documents more than 10 years ago, compared African-Americans to vermin? Where was the outrage then? Swept under a rug because there wasn't an audio tape playing around-the-clock on the news. Again, this just makes the NBA look stupid and their outrage completely phony.

You keep making the same point, and it continues to make no sense. That people knew he was a racist X years ago and did nothing has no bearing on the fact that they did the right thing today. None.

Only if the majority of the league was Catholic or Jewish. If so, it absolutely would.

So who is the next to go down?

I mean if the nba wants to make pillow talk actionable, and something they are willing to inflict punishment, who is the next one to be video taped without consent for the sole purpose of leaking it to TMZ?

Not everyone is politically correct in the confines of their own home.

Really? Do you make comments about ANYONE as disgusting as those he made? If so, I've read you wrong.

I don't agree.. its very acceptable in this country to degrade Jews and Catholics. The big difference... they dont care.

Social media is different. Now everyone can voice their opinion. I think that's a huge difference.

IOW, the commission of the NBA attempted to protect the league aka did his job.
