Good post...repsGOONx19;1463726 wrote:. I just don't want to see this site lose any more posters, because when there's only 50 active posters every one counts. I personally love what the OC offers. A good mix of sports and bull****, and it's way easier for me to keep up to date on current events by just scrolling through the front page than to find it elsewhere. But when people start leaving, the impact is exponential. -

I'm saying it shouldn't have been said in the first place. It did NOT help you in anyway. I took it that way due to all the previous posts concering your actions in this thread. I'm guessing more people 'read into it' the way I did, as opposed to what you say you meant by it.Fly4Fun;1463714 wrote:Exactly, I said what I said. Then you go onto say right here that because I said it, it backs up what some people have said... that's exactly what "reading into it" means. You are reading something else into my statement that was not actually in my statement.
None the less you did drive off DA, a good contributor to the site. Keep up the good work and hopefully you can drive off more !!! -

He added on his reputation IMO. When you deal with difficult posters that can't follow simple rules, what is a mod supposed to do?
The few people understanding the complaining are the few people that were the problem. -

Curly J and DA have never been part of the problem. Also, do you not have the quote feature on your Asian interweb?Manhattan Buckeye;1463740 wrote:"Okay, F4F, he read too much into it. Maybe you are right. I'll miss DA's contributions there. I'll also miss COA's and Like_That's input there too if a certain Mod has his way.vdubb96;1463685 wrote:Curly you need to get back over to the "beer snob" thread, your getting a bit too serious over here! -

Make it personal I guess.

Glad to know I've been the problem. Way to generalize.
I said before I never had an issue or complained about F4F, that was until his posts in this thread only backed up what others were saying about him. Then him being the reason another poster decide to take a 'vacation'. That was enough for me to draw a conclusion and speak out on the matter. -

Yeah, this whole thing didn't turn out like we talked about on day one. It sucks that people can't just bullshit and have a good time to make time pass -

And we have an admission of what all of this brouhaha is about. You acknowledge you're an asshole. Some folks don't mind dealing with trolling assholes...others would prefer not to. You and the others complaining can't seem to tell the difference.like_that;1463653 wrote:It was a hypothetical example. SMFH. I am not the only one who does the "/mb" jokes.
I tell you what, I will stop being an asshole when you stop being a smug ass. Deal?
And just for the record, other than a few posters I can set the bullshit aside. I do actually enjoy your posts in the politics thread.
Why does MB's "smug ass" necessitate you being an "asshole" to him? Sure, it seems douchey to me that he sent PM's when you ribbed him for his posts wherein he comes off like a douche but doesn't even know it with the whole /MB'd thing (or whatever that controversy was about) but the question is...why does it bother you to the point that you just must "be an asshole" toward him?
Maybe ignore him?
I spar with MB regularly on the politics forum and some of his posts personally make me SMDH but what is the utility in "being an asshole" to posters who clearly aren't interested in that type of banter? He's called me a douche, an idiot, etc. but do I constantly badger him? No. We debate, maybe throw in a diss here and there and move on with our lives. It's not difficult.
It's like you just have to troll the MB's and Fly4Fun's of the world when you know they're going to retaliate or don't appreciate it. If MB or Fly4Fun or whoever else has indicated that he/she doesn't appreciate your "ribbing" why is it so consequential to your experience on this website that you continue to do so?
If posters get "hurt feelz" why does it make sense to continue to troll those posters? Why does it matter so much to you that you have to troll them? There is an ignore function. It is not that complicated.
Maybe just act like a well-adjusted adult male who's life doesn't revolve around teh internetz, get over the fact that you don't like certain contributions from certain anonymous internet posters and stop letting it affect your life in any tangible way whatsoever...Hows about only levy insults/rib at other posters who you are on good terms with and make it clear to the mods when it is mutual ribbing...stop trolling alleged "overzealous mods" and then "QQing" when they do exactly what you expect them to do...moderate/ban/levy infractions against the posters that constantly troll them.
I don't see how the constant "QQ4Fail is a douche" every time he posts helps the case in making him be more lenient towards you and others. Just ignore him.
I personally find the contributions of you and those who don't like Fly4Fun entertaining for the most part but it's not hard to see why you guys are singled out for moderation.
Sleeper and Isadore are classic examples. While I found their posts entertaining they both consistently and incessantly trolled LJ for one and it is not hard to see why they eventually received bans, etc. Mods and other posters are not required to deal with incessant trolling...even if it is entertaining.
I find trolling entertaining for the most part but it is not hard to see why a moderator would not when one of the targets of the endless trolling is the moderator. Troll people who don't care about trolls. Avoid trolling people who don't take kindly to it.
And finally, even if we accept the fact that some of the complaints you guys have w/ regard to moderation are legitimate...that Fly4Fun took things personal and held vendettas, etc...from where I'm sitting the crowd complaining threw the first stones and should maybe consider trying to break some bread instead of just doubling-down on the trolling????
Fly4Fun...for whatever kind of sensitive douche he may or may not be... never infracts me or lots of other people. There is a reason. -
