Hitchhiker: You heard of this thing, the 8-Minute Abs?ernest_t_bass;1495387 wrote:I'm getting sick of these fucking posts on Facebook where fat-asses "got ripped, 6-pack abs in 30 days!!!" People fall for this shit?
Ted: Yeah, sure, 8-Minute Abs. Yeah, the excercise video.
Hitchhiker: Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 7... Minute... Abs.
Ted: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you're going.
Hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin' there, there's 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?
Ted: I would go for the 7.
Hitchhiker: Bingo, man, bingo. 7-Minute Abs. And we guarantee just as good a workout as the 8-minute folk.
Ted: You guarantee it? That's - how do you do that?
Hitchhiker: If you're not happy with the first 7 minutes, we're gonna send you the extra minute free. You see? That's it. That's our motto. That's where we're comin' from. That's from "A" to "B".
Ted: That's right. That's - that's good. That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you're in trouble, huh?
[Hitchhiker convulses]
Hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
Ted: That - good point. -
ernest_t_bassRe: Cardio
What are your favorite types of cardio? Wife and I just got a membership to the local (small) gym, and I bought it specifically for cardio in this treacherous weather. This morning, my routine was:
10 min - Walk briskly (warm up)
20 min - Row machine
10 min - Crossfit machine
10 min - Walk briskly (cool down)
I dress with layers, so I worked up a pretty good sweat. What this particular has for cardio, includes:
Arm bike (lol)
Bike
Sitting bike
Treadmill
Crosstrainer/crossfit
Elliptical
Row machines
Some weird ass sitting bike/arm thing
Step machine
As well as some nautilus equipment
What is your favorite cardio exercises, and given the list, what is suggested that I do? -
ernest_t_bassI've found this website useful for "Workout for Dummies."

My routine would consist of varying sessions of HIIT or low intensity/long duration. Treadmill or stepper.ernest_t_bass;1571127 wrote:Re: Cardio

I'd consider my workout this morning as: LI, H/M I, H/M I, LI -
like_thatAnyone else take BCAA's? What is in them that gives you energy?
-
Azubuike24Nothing. I prefer a complete amino over BCAA's. BCAA's only consist of 3 aminos that are required for protein synthesis, but aren't going to assist in triggering muscle building. This is why proteins are always going to contain these 3 aminos, but rarely a complete amino. As for the energy thing, I've never heard that. It's either a placebo effect or there's something else in the BCAA "drink" like caffeine, Beta Alanine, Arginine, etc...that may give you that feeling.
I will usually do my pre-workout mix of Caffeine, Beta Alanine and Carnitine, or just a generic PWO drink if it's around. During the workout, I'll sip on an essential amino drink and then post-workout, hit the whey protein along with a few extra grams of BCAA's. -

Nice, been doing an Insanity twice a week, weight being P90X three times a week.Gblock;1571134 wrote:been doing insanity dvds for about 24 days in a row...just getting to the point now where i can finish a workout for the most part without stopping
For those wondering, Tonya is still bringing the energy! -

There's gotta be something in the BCAAs that I'm taking that gives me an energy boost. I workout in a fasted state, but ever since I have been taking BCAAs I have noticed a dog invent difference in energy.Azubuike24;1571172 wrote:Nothing. I prefer a complete amino over BCAA's. AutomatikNone of the stuff Azu mentioned in the product? Caffeine, Beta Alanine and Carnitine
Beta alanine makes me nutty when I first start taking it.
I think I'm going to purchase a Magic Bullet. My diet has gone to shit and I'm not getting enough veggies. I'm going to try the blend and chug method over cooking.

i like both...one thing about the insanity is its a shorter workout...im getting tired of it already tho...i am in the process of downloading the t25 to mix in and may also rotate the p90 yoga because it really helps my flexibility which is a weak spot for meSonofanump;1571173 wrote:Nice, been doing an Insanity twice a week, weight being P90X three times a week.

sleeperSupplements are for poor people.

vdubb96Been doing the 10 minute torchers and Gladiator dvd's from mens health to change up the p90x boredom. There a decent 30 minute workout especially if you're working out twice a day. I think you get can them on free 3 week trials still.

ernest_t_bassLiking the looks of the Focus t25.

My mom and younger brother are both doing it. They both seem to like it. Everything is getting condensed into 1/2 hr or less segments. If the intensity is ramped up and there are short to no breaks it's great to get it done that fast.ernest_t_bass;1571224 wrote:Liking the looks of the Focus t25. -
Azubuike24You say you're working out in a fasted state. How long are you typically fasting? Like 8-12 hours (like an overnight fast, workout in the morning) or longer? Also, what type of activities are you doing? Even furthermore, what does your diet look like leading up to the training and how often are you training?
For instance, Carb backloading has become ever popular, but the source of the carb backload and the time of training is going to really vary from person to person. The ONLY thing I can think of is that in a long enough fast, BCAA's and moreso, EAA's are going to prevent burning muscle tissue. -
rrfanany thoughts on P90x3? I have been doing it for about two weeks and I do like it. Wanted to see any other thoughts...

Ironman92Just doing the old fashion treadmill. I walk an hour everyday slightly increasing my speed, incline for about half, total distance and calories per day.

A lot of people giving it high praise just like T25. Everyone loves a quick workout. They seem to be pretty intense.rrfan;1571248 wrote:any thoughts on P90x3? I have been doing it for about two weeks and I do like it. Wanted to see any other thoughts... -
AutomatikI've been browsing mixers/blenders today because I'm about to jump on the smoothie bandwagon.
Magic Bullet, Nutribullet or Ninja Bullet are my options. What say you OC?
I'm leaning towards the Nutri.
