And my point is this isn't an independent screenwriter developing the plots. George R.R. Martin is a little bit crazy, very slow in his writing, yet hired good lawyers and protected his product well. He allows NO fan fiction at all, NO trademark violations of his works, and if HBO continues it needs his blessing at every turn.
This is a guy so nuts in his will he boasts that if he dies (which could likely happen given his age and weight) he won't even allow a ghost writer to finish the story.
So the tv show and books are more linked than your average show.
Is that clear?
Yeah its clear..ly fucking irrelevant as shit.

MB Just wait for it..if you remember when you were reading the books this was the most exciting part. they will get what you are saying in about two years from now so just let them enjoy it and then when everyone starts bitching because they have no idea who anyone is and every charachter they ever liked is lets just say no longer featured then you can cut and paste these comments. i actually just hope he leaves the storyline from the books at some point at least with some charachters.Manhattan Buckeye;1442663 wrote:Yeah it is clear.

Really? But then what will Brandon Sanderson do with his life now that he's done ghostwriting the end of Wheel of Time after Robert Jordan died?Manhattan Buckeye;1442663 wrote:This is a guy so nuts in his will he boasts that if he dies (which could likely happen given his age and weight) he won't even allow a ghost writer to finish the story.
THINK OF BRANDON SANDERSON!!!!! -
gutI actually appreciate some background from the books. Seems like there will be a lot of unanswered questions that we'll be left waiting to find out about next year.
I could read the books myself, or be lazy and ask a few questions here. Nice thing about this show as opposed to others is if you really get frustrated over a cliff hanger you can go pick-up the story (sort of) in the books. -
Laley23It is annoying when people complain about the TV show because of what they know about the books.
We are watching TV. We dont give a fuck about the books. We dont care what is going to happen, didnt happen, was left out, what will or wont translate well to TV if they follow it or ANYTHING. I have yet to be dissapointed in the TV show. If I read the books, I might be, because I would know shit I wouldnt want to know regarding the TV show.
So seriously, it makes NO SENSE to bring up the books. It doesnt matter if its an adaptaion. To 90% of the people watching, it is a BRAND NEW show and we dont know what we are missing etc. Its all new and its all awesome. -

Yeah. Do the good guys ever win in this thing? Bad day to be a Stark. Guess that's one way of closing a story line, though.ptown_trojans_1;1451739 wrote:Holy ****.....

George RR is truly ruthless with his characters...But people have to die or it wouldn't be GOT, would it?
Sadly, the hottest chick in the show is gone, but at least they finally got her naked last week. -
SportsAndLadyWow...I don't even want to watch this show anymore lol
That's just retarded. What a terrible episode? -

Are you asking? I thought it was a great episode.SportsAndLady;1451757 wrote:What a terrible episode?

Idk...I made that post seconds after finishing the episode so I was kind of upset lol I just didn't like how they have Rob Stark as the leader for 2 seasons, prepping for a war; then they just kill him and his mother off by some old fuck.TedSheckler;1451764 wrote:Are you asking? It was a really, really great episode up to that. I hope dragon lady hurries the fuck up and fucks the Lannisters up. -
gutWell, if you really think about it, makes sense. The Starks were good guys...Khaleesi is even better. They both couldn't take the throne.
What's unsatisfying for the fans is there's no one left to avenge (at least until the "little Stark bitch" grows up"). I guess that's the brilliance of the plan. -

Yeah that's very true.gut;1451774 wrote:Well, if you really think about it, makes sense. The Starks were good guys...Khaleesi is even better. They both couldn't take the throne.

Hope Frey gets it bad, very soon. -

I've debated tackling the books. Tonight's episode REALLY makes me want to pick it up. I'm not patient enough to wait for 2+ yrs for HBO to wrap some of this up.SportsAndLady;1451775 wrote: Hope Frey gets it bad, very soon.
Show is amazing, though. Especially when you realize Tyrion wasn't in a single scene tonight and every minute still kept you glued. Teased the viewer the whole show with Stark mini-reunions.
Although if I may nitpick, the whole thing with Khaleesi taking the city was kind of cheap. "They laid down their arms". WTF, that's not what the first 30 or so did. -
AutomatikI suspected something major was going down, maybe Robb getting off'd, but I had no idea THAT was coming.
I'd like to know what's going on with Edmure Tully and his new wife. -

BigAppleBuckeyeStill in shock over that episode! Actually went to bed and that damn scene had my mind racing -- definitely the product of an amazing show and unforgettable episode. Love the mind games, from the Starks almost reuniting (in some capacity, anyway), the foreshadowing of a mistake by Khaleesi only to be rewarded with a successful risk, then the complete mind-f-ck of the wedding scene. Bravo HBO ... Bravo.
