It's killing me that I can't get out and play right now! Countdown is on for our N. Myrtle golf trip in February! Thinking about buying these irons as well.

What would you suggest in the $200-250 range? I obviously want to get the most club for the money.

What's the max...lol?? I've only been playing for a couple years, and really haven't been serious enough about it to figure out my handicap, but I'm going to get more serious about it this year. I want to get a decent set of clubs and get everything fitted.

Do you know he paid $700,000 for it?!....from 35 it looks like a $200,000 home with a lot of land.....but it's about triple the size it looks and has the works......his wife's family is all over that part of the county.

Didn't know how much he paid, but I knew it was a good size house. I have family that used to live back in there, and built a couple of those houses.

Decided to go visit my cuz in Nashville in a couple weeks. Weather there is trending toward the 60's, gonna take my clubs just in case!

My flight to Myrtle leaves on February 3. Five nights and 4 rounds of high-end golf. Can't wait.

Looking at a putter in the 100-150 range. I'm about an 18 handicap. Any suggestions?

When you realize that you make more strokes with the putter than with any other club, it makes sense to buy a really, really good one and stay away from the fads and gimmicks out there. I tried a bunch of them until I realized that my Anser was, indeed, the answer (pun intended). I had a Super Stroke FatBoy grip installed and my putting immediately improved.

And I know a scratch golfer who uses a putter from WalMart.

Everybody claims to know someone who has shit clubs and shoots par golf. My point is this: If I have a certain amount of skill, I'm going to invest in the right equipment and maximize that skill. Anyone who claims that the new equipment doesn't enhance basic skill is only fooling himself. When I was younger I used to make my clubs, went the Golfsmith route. Once I realized that I couldn't make them significantly better than the manufacturers I gave it up and began buying what I needed to help improve my game.

They'd probably be on Tour if they had a nice expensive putter.

We're leaving out one of the most important elements of game improvement. Lessons. I would guess that most weekend golfers dismiss that idea pretty quickly, but they do help.

I think putter perfomance is a mental thing. If you think it will make you better, you'll probably see some improvement because you're more confident. It all comes down to read and stroke, no matter how expensive the putter, imo.

I've had the same putter since my sophomore year in 1989. The Ping Zing 2....it was $55 then and it will be my putter until I don't play golf anymore. Constantly changing putters is asinine. Get something that feels good that you do well with and stick with it.

I know a lot of scratch golfers and none of them use a putter from walmart. One uses a ping from the 80's though.
