    Note: They aren't.
What does it matter what the price is? You made the claim that high sales(AKA revenue) and high market value = superior product. These have nothing to do with each other.

I disagree as not everyone that buys McD's probably thinks it&#8217;s great or even good, it is just cheap and convenient! Not the case with apple, you pay their price which isn't cheap so it&#8217;s not a cheap alternative or even convenient!</SPAN>

What people think has nothing to do with the quality of the product either.

    Cop out.

For the record, I never said Apple made vastly superior products. I was just countering dlazz's dumbass logic....and I'm sure everyone can agree with that.

Cop out?? What is left to discuss, you are trying to compare two ends of the spectrum not sure what else there is to say? Like I said comparing apples to oranges. If you were trying to compare Apple to other Tech companies then perhaps we could find something to discuss but tech products and fast food not sure how you can make a comparison between the two companies? Comparing and discussing the reasoning for people purchasing from these two companies makes no sense.

We could compare Microsoft to Apple if you want, they slaughter them in volume.

We aren't comparing two different industries. We aren't comparing anything at all. How simple is your mind? The question is, do you believe market value and revenue = quality product? It seems you are arguing that it does, and there is no way that's true.

Does market value and revenue = quality, no and I think I pointed that out in my McD's thoughts.

    Ah, so we agree.

In an attempt to help get this thread back on track... let me "Tosh" out another question...

This Box.net thing... can I put music that I have that is NOT from iTunes on there? Or does it ONLY accept iTunes purchased tracks?

Just heard the iPhone is having some battery issues, although its probably a program glitch they can fix. or you can just buy an extra battery and swap out the dying one when it gets low....oh wait....

I haven't had any battery issues. It's MUCH better than my 3GS was.

    I didn't make that claim?

The fact of the matter is you guys are comparing Apple(premium products) to Wal-Mart (discounted store). There is no correlation, and that's why price matters with Apple. They are selling their products at a premium price and still outselling their competition.

Sleeper, how do you measure the quality of a particular product?

Once again, that was the initial argument. A claim was made that Apple has superior products because of higher revenue and higher market value. That was the point of the analogy. High revenue + high market value DO NOT = high quality.

I can't believe I've spent 5+ posts explaining a simple analogy. I guess I am dealing the general public.

Reliability, durability, etc. Apple is a company that consistently has to release a new product every 6-8 months because people are tired of the using the old product. For every story of someone owning an Apple for 10+ years there's 10+ for people who've owned them for less than 5 months. I don't have a link but its out there in peer reviewed studies discussing how Apple is marketing quality and delivering average value.

    Adjusting the time zone settings on the iPhone might help alleviate the issue. Reportedly, a bug within iOS 5 forces the phone&#8217;s location tracking feature to remain active far more than it should, which in turn drains the phone&#8217;s battery too quickly. Users can manually turn off the automatic time zone setting by navigating to Settings > General > Date & Time and toggling &#8220;Set Automatically&#8221; to &#8220;Off.&#8221;

Apple doesn't have any problems. Just ask users of Apple, they only buy superior products that never have issues and Apple Care is just necessary even though you will never use it.

    Link or GTFO.

I've often talked about how people that buy Apple products buy them to "belong" to a certain community. Of course its going to rank top in customer satisfaction. When you pay a 50% premium on a product, you better like it to the maximum, otherwise you're just trashing your own community. Apple has the best marketing department in history, that doesn't mean their products are worth the premium price.

You're just mad because the joy of your life is owning overrated products made by a hoodwinking marketing genius in Apple. Enjoy!
