  • Commander of Awesome
From IMDB; "Plays conflicted, tortured-by-their-own-demons characters, who need to deal with their past" Leo. LOL pretty much spot on.
  • ohiobucks1
He was also awesome in Django as well

    My comments:
    I didn't see J Edgar so I guess I can't say every movie.
is spectacular in every movie he's been in lately.
The point we're making is he has been in good movies
SMH, coa. I didn't ever say ever movie he's been in has been great. I said he's been in good movies lately and that he is a great actor. Keep trying to prove me wrong, it's making me laugh.

Zomg, from imdb: "Few actors in the world have had a career quite as diverse as Leonardo DiCaprio's."

It's on Imdb so it must be true!!!

The Basketball Diaries was also really good.

It's almost impossible to argue Leo isn't an all time great actor. Just because you don't like his roles/movies doesn't change the fact. I openly admit I hate many, many Tom Hanks movies. I don't put him in my top 15 actors. But when it comes down to putting opinion aside and recognizing talent, there is no question he is up there with the best.

Leo to coa seems like Hanks to me.

    Thank you.

There are a lot of actors I don't particularly like, but I'm not going to call some of their good movies shit just because I don't like them.

I respect your opinions CoA but this just makes me SMH. I don't watch 1/10 of the movies you guys watch but that one was fantastic.

Just watched Zero Dark Thirty. It was good, but not great.

I thought he was good in Shutter Island. Awesome in Gangs of New York, The Departed, Blood Diamond and maybe my favorite acting job of his was Django. I really like a lot of his movies, definitely in an elite category among current actors, but I don't have him at the level of Tom Hanks and my number one Jack Nicholson.

Hanks though, with A League of Their Own, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Toy Story(greatest computer animated series ever), Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Castaway, Road to Perdition(underrated), Catch Me If You Can and Charlie Wilson's War. He was great in all of those

But when you look at Jack Nicholson who rocked in Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest(my favorite here), Reds, Terms of Endearment, A Few Good Men, As Good As It Gets, About Schmidt, and The Departed he IMO owns

I tried not to like him because of Gilbert Grape and Growing Pains. I think he is a very good actor and I like to be very critical of him.

Anyone catching Star Trek this weekend?

I just finished it. I really enjoyed it, and it had a few "twists".
  • GoPens
I enjoyed it. I realize it's not Academy material but it was a good way to spend a Sat. afternoon.

Saw Life of Pi and Broken City last night on my flight back home.

    Life of Pie
was surprisingly better than I anticipated. I figured it must have been worthy of a look since it was nominated for all those Academy Awards.

    Broken City
was pretty bad, IMO. I found myself disinterested throughout the entire film and wondering when it would be over. I've never walked out of a film, but I found myself HIGHLY tempted to change the channel and watch something else / possibly walk out if I was at the theaters.

I should have gone with Gangster Squad like I wanted to, but I decided against watching that because it was rated R and I wanted to make sure I saw a film like that without all the cheap video edits (like you would have seen on an airplane).

    Watched Gangster Squad this afternoon.

It was much worse than I had hoped when I first heard about the movie 2 years ago. It was much better than I had anticipated after the bad reviews following the release.

Why did you assume it would be bad two years ago?

Ah yes. Touche. It's been a rough morning. Ha. Have you seen anything new recently s&l?

I saw gatsby and loved it. I know a lot of people didn't.

I saw silver linings play book last week and really liked that. Saw savages too (very late on that one) and thought it was pretty solid. Blake lively is sexy.

Haven't been to the theatre too much since being in Chicago. It's either a 30 min walk, 7 dollar cab each way, or pay ten bucks to park your car. It annoys me.

I agree with you about those flicks and damn about the theater situation.

Watched End of Watch this weekend. Meh.
  • Scarlet_Buckeye
Saw The Internship last night at an advanced screening. It was pretty good... you could definitely tell they were going for the whole "Wedding Crashers" vibe. Definitely *NOT* on the level or quality of Wedding Crasher though, but it was still pretty entertaining. I'd love to know how much money Google shelled out for this movie - they had their name plastered everywhere.

    I'd give it about a 6 out of 10, maybe 7 out of 10.

Isn't the movie about them getting an Internship at Google? I would assume that you would see Google a lot then...

Getting dragged to see Star Trek tonight, pretty sure I'll dislike it. I didn't see the first one, anything I need to know?
