agreed...personally i liked both of the hulks better than the avengers/transformers franchises. I didnt mind thor or the first iron man but clearly the batman reset way better. i didnt care for sin city, but i liked road to perdition and i def didnt know it was a comic book.Commander of Awesome;1439407 wrote:I'm with you on Avengers. Fun decent mindless action movie with terrible dialogue and plot. Fun for what is was, but not even in the same category as Dark Knight, which was a great film.
Dark Knight and Batman Begins are the only good super hero movies. The rest have been fun mindless action films.
There have been though, other great comic book movies: Sin City, 300, Road to Perdition as examples. -
wes_mantoothMy two favs are Batman begins and V for Vendetta. I, unlike most, was just ok with dark knight
-
gport_tennis300 was awesome. One of my favorite movies
-
Raw Dawgin' itI thought Iron Man was pretty good and two just sucked ass - i probably will wait for video on 3. I agree with CoA, the first 2 batmans from the reboot were great while all other superhero movies are shallow plots/acting with decent action.
I just saw Silver Linings Playbook, I really liked that movie. -

Sin City and 300 were so overrated, it's not even funny. Sin City might as well have been Hell Boy.Commander of Awesome;1439407 wrote:I'm with you on Avengers. Well we just don't have the same tastes in movies SB.Scarlet_Buckeye;1439424 wrote:Sin City and 300 were so overrated, it's not even funny. Sin City might as well have been Hell Boy. -

V for Vendetta was an EXCELLENT movie. Definitely one of the most "forgotten" comic-book movies.wes_mantooth;1439415 wrote:My two favs are Batman begins and V for Vendetta. I, unlike most, was just ok with dark knight -

Silver Linings Playbook was done very well. Very much enjoyed that film.Raw Dawgin' it;1439417 wrote:I thought Iron Man was pretty good and two just sucked ass - i probably will wait for video on 3. My wife loved V for Vendetta - I thought it was manipulative and cheated the audience with V being damn near invincible.Scarlet_Buckeye;1439427 wrote:V for Vendetta was an EXCELLENT movie. Definitely one of the most "forgotten" comic-book movies.
Sin City continues to be my favorite comic book movie. I appreciate The Avengers for what it was - fun entertainment, certainly would never win an Oscar but I can rewatch it, and Chris Evans was better than I expected. -
Fab4RunnerI thought The Avengers was entertaining, but not nearly as great as eveyone had made it out to be. Definitely better than Iron Man 3, though.
I am a Batman girl. Love the original and love the Christopher Nolan trilogy, both for very different reasons, obviously. Comic book movies don't get any better, IMO.
I am very much looking forward to Man of Steel. It seems to be a bit darker, much like BB, TDK and TDKR. -
Crimson streakI'm really curious how Nolan does with man of steel.

yeah, me too. Honestly, Superman is the superhero i was always least interested in as a kid...not sure why. But the new one looks promising.Crimson streak;1439579 wrote:I'm really curious how Nolan does with man of steel. -

I'm with you Fab. Superman is a dbag, but I love the realistic feel it has (being a Nolan flick). Dark Knight is the best super hero movie ever.Fab4Runner;1439442 wrote:I thought The Avengers was entertaining, but not nearly as great as eveyone had made it out to be. Sort of a Nolan film, I'll wait and see. Superman was never one of my favorite comics because you couldn't identify with him. He was too impervious and his only weakness was a maguffin.Crimson streak;1439676 wrote:Yeah I always thought superman was dumb but since It is a Nolan film ill watch it -
Gblockare they starting from the beginning with superman as a baby or is this a continuation of that last one?

This movie actually looks pretty sweet. Like the concept -
Commander of AwesomeSaw Place Beyond the Pines last night. Was decent, sort of depressing and really long. Acting was top notch, Eva Mendez was hot, but something keeping it from being great.

Scarlet_BuckeyeWatched 'Argo' for the first time. Thought it was good; in fact VERY good. Personally, I'd definitely put 'Django Unchained' ahead of it, but then it'd be a tough debate as to where Argo falls in place against 'Silver Linings Playbook' and 'Zero Dark Thirty.' Part of me wants to give the nod to SLP, because it was an original storyline (although, one could argue it was just another love story). As great as ZDT and Argo were, I think they get docked a little (IMO) because they were historical events; therefore, there wasn't any creativity in coming up with the writing. Instead, both just equally told the story well (dare I say brilliantly). Argo definitely had the better acting than ZDT.

Agree with all. Thought all were excellent movies. Love ZDT, mostly because I love war movies. But SLP was very very good. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. -
ohiobucks1Going to The Great Gatsby at 1030 tonight. Hope it is as amazing as it looks!

I'd give it a B-. It was just OK IMO. I thought it was kind of boring, honestly. Leo is the man, however.Fab4Runner;1440967 wrote:Currently halfway through the book and am hoping to see the movie in the near future. -
GoPensFriend of mine said Gatsby blows, although he thought Avengers should have won best picture. Haven't heard GREAT reviews of it, mainly average but I'll probably still go see it.
