Their dark lager has the same problem all their beers do. Really want more flavor.gerb131;909978 wrote:Nosferatu is good and its a kick ass looking label. I went with the new Guinness Dark Lager last night and was somewhat pleased considering Guinness usually sucks except straight out the tap. -

Hell yes it is, and Barrel Aged Boris is really badass, but a bit on the pricey side.I Wear Pants;909338 wrote:Is that a positive review then?
Today I grabbed my first 4 pack of DFH Punkin Ale of this year. Close to finishing my 3rd bottle and have a really nice buzz going. Good amount of pumpkin, lots of spices, and lots of alcohol. A very good beer, glad finally I picked this up, it's been a while. -

That burger sounds awesome (so does the beer)!Curly J;909963 wrote:I plan on having one of those today, at my favorite burger place. Probably for desert, after I have a Chocolate Stout Burger. I did have the burger, but not the BORIS. I had some Maumee Bay Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout on tap. Damn good stout !!! That's my first beer from them and I was impressed. (had 3 of them)BORIStheCrusher;910291 wrote:That burger sounds awesome (so does the beer)! -
I Wear PantsAvery - The Reverand tonight.

I Wear PantsLol at one of the bad reviews of it on BA
"The smell and taste are astonishingly bad, so there is just no drinkability here. It is so bad that I do not have an inclination to commit not-critical elemental observations as to the experience. In the interest of summarizing my objection to this brew, however, I will pontificate on this matter of sheistiness. There is a nasty wet hay element in the malt and a horrendously foul mushy pea aroma from the hop 'contribution'; the essence of the beer is putrid." -
justincredibleFinally enjoying my Pumking tonight. Good stuff.

bigdaddy2003I recall someone saying they had tried the banana bread beer but I couldn't remember who and I wasn't going to scroll through all of the beer threads to find it so I have a question. Is it any good?
Also has anyone tried Woodchuck hard cider or any other kind of hard cider? -

There were a few of us who said we tried the banana bread beer. Again, not bad but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be and I love banana bread. It was just okay.bigdaddy2003;913746 wrote:I recall someone saying they had tried the banana bread beer but I couldn't remember who and I wasn't going to scroll through all of the beer threads to find it so I have a question. I've had woodchuck. Tasty. More of a summer drink. Very carbonated and sweet. Pretty good at the right time of year but I can't drink more than a few at a time even then. -

Thanks for the reviews. I found a wine shop that supposedly sells all different kinds of beer. So I am going to check it out sometime this week.killer_ewok;913764 wrote:There were a few of us who said we tried the banana bread beer. justincredibleI like woodchuck, used to get a pitcher or two on Thursday nights in college. But it's too sweet for me to have more than one now.
I am digging in to my first beer from Curly J. The Lukcy 13asartd (Lucky Bastard). Fantastic beer. -

Your Welcome. Sorry I couldn't part with my Greg Koch autographed bottle of Lukcy 13asartd. If you never heard of it, here's the page about it. --> http://www.stonebrew.com/lukcybasartd/justincredible;914950 wrote:This might be the best beer I've ever had. -

justincredibleI wish it wasn't a one time brew. I want to stock up on it. Damn, it was fantastic.

bigdaddy2003I may give the Woodchuck cider a try. All depends on what I find at the wine shop.

Woodchuck should be available everywhere that has even a modest beer selection.bigdaddy2003;915430 wrote:I may give the Woodchuck cider a try. All depends on what I find at the wine shop. -

I'm hoping they make it a yearly brew like they did their Sublimely Self Righteous, which was their 11th Anny Ale. Or at least make it special each year. One can wish...justincredible;915333 wrote:I wish it wasn't a one time brew. I want to stock up on it. Damn, it was fantastic.
I'm glad you liked it. That one was a last second grab when I was putting that collection together for you. If you like that one then you'll really like the others...if you are into stouts. That one and the Stingo were the only non stouts I gave you.
Try a few different ciders. Woodchuck is on the sweet side, but they have a variety of flavors which is cool. Hornsby's is more dry which I prefer in a cider. Harpoon's is really nice and balanced with nice apple flavor and very crisp finish. Then there is Strongbow which is Strongbow...a nice traditional English cider. I find Strongbow a little more 'beery' which is nice at times.bigdaddy2003;915430 wrote:I may give the Woodchuck cider a try. All depends on what I find at the wine shop.
I'm about 'pumpkin beered' out, but The Wife isn't so the rest in the fridge is hers. I've went through 2 bottles of the Stones 15th Anny Ale over the past couple of days. I love that beer and got to get some more this weekend. Tonight it's a little wine then maybe that bottle of Three Philosophers that's chillin in the fridge. -
justincredibleI'm going to be brewing an apfelwine as soon as I break down and buy myself a carboy. It's basically Strongbow but the total prep time to get it fermenting is about 20 minutes. Apple juice, dextrose, wine yeast, done. Let it sit for 2 months. Total cost will be right around $20 for 5 gallons. And it'll get you fucked up right quick.

Yeah, Woodchuck is available at the grocery store I have been going to for my new beers. I'm just more interested in trying to find pumpkin beers or other beers I can't find at the grocery store over the cider.I Wear Pants;915440 wrote:Woodchuck should be available everywhere that has even a modest beer selection.
Sounds like I would rather try Hornsby's, Harpoon's, and Strongbow over Woodchuck and go figure Woodchuck is the easiest to find in my area. That is my luck with beer. I need to move.
