Notre Dame's new coach

I really like that you're standing by your info through all of Stoops' non-denial-denials.

I know you said that the announcement was supposed to come Wednesday or Thursday. Do you know if Stoops' grandmother passing away throws a wrench into that plan?

I gotta be honest...the people over on uhnd.com have completely given up hope on Stoops. I find it funny that all these news outlets and media are counting him out based on that conference call yesterday. They keep quoting him saying that he's going to be at Oklahoma next year...but they leave out the part where (after Stoops side-stepped a question about whether or not he'd leave for ND) the reporter says, "Why won't you just say, no?" And Stoops STILL wouldn't do it!

I also find it interesting that Stoops was supposed to release another statement in a press release today...but has yet to do so.

I swear, people cannot look any dumber than when they insult someone and have grammar flaws. It's alumnus, alumni is the nominative plural, not singular.

Yeah, because Moeller is the only High School in Ohio with "Crusader" as their mascot/symbol.

I've still never heard anyone explain how ND makes college football any better. I don't believe that for one second about any single score or even traditional powerhouses collectively.

Every year has its own kind of interest and outside of a person's favorite team, do people really think during the season, "boy, this season would really be better if (insert team) was doing good".

When ND is good, ND makes a lot more money. When they are bad or not quite so good, they are usually preventing someone else from making better money. That is good for ND, but does not improve college football in any way.
Agree. To be honest, other than the year Notre Dame had Brady Quinn and they played OSU in the bowl, ND football has not been really good for the past 18 years or so. I would say interest in college football in the past 18 years is at an all time high. Notre Dame is currently not good. It is therefore not bad for college football when Notre is not good.

I don't win games for Notre Dame you stain. "I" don't PLAY for Notre Dame. 'I', did not attend AM. "I", am not responsible for anything on this website, or as to what happens in South Bend.

But, since you said, "I", tell us who you are in "your" program. A coach? A player? An admin.? A HUGE booster? (This is me laughing at you!)
    I think not.

"You" are a laptop cowboy with no connection to "your" program other than drooling on your couch every time they play. hows the Natty?

Guys like you are the reason why county lockup is always full after "your" games. "You" could not pick a football out of a field of cowpies in Obetz.

It boggles my mind how Notre Dame fans, or level-headed college football fans cannot have a civil discussion about the next coach without ncf or some other posting all star squeezing out a hot deuce right on the thread.

Nuthin' wrong with a PBR now & then. And crusader you didn't deny the Moeller slam so I pegged that right on the nob didnt I? And the Famine took place 1844 - 1848, so guess what... after 160 yrs, slight comical reference is permitted. So ND Potato Famine Fans, your Famine for Success continues.

Does that mean you can make fun of slavery now? How bout the Holocaust? Or is that still too soon? How long exactly after a situation/disaster that almost wipes out an entire race of people do you have to wait before you have the green light to make fun of it?

For the record, I got a chuckle out of the Potato Famine Fans comment...I just don't understand why it's OK to make fun of one race and not another.
  • killer_ewok
Again, Moeller isn't the only High School in Ohio with "Crusader" as their mascot/symbol.

    Think about it.

Amazing how this has totally gotten off topic.

Not saying that it's ok, but there is a huge difference between slavery and the holocaust (human caused suffering) and the potato famine.

Slavery and the Holocaust were sick human beings treating others inhumanely.

The potato famine was caused by a diseased potato (potato blight) and was not a human against human disaster.
  • Mr Pat
If he calls us "Potato Famine fans" is he trying to say we're fans of a Potato Famine? Do we call Cleveland Indians fans "Trail of Tears fans?"

Alright guys, minor delay. I had originally thought the press conference would be today or tomorrow to announce this but look for Friday to be the day. Be patient Irish fans
