There are several posters on here from Steubenville, myself included, that take offense to your garbage.

If it takes a week or two longer than some hope so be it.
They need to do what they feel is right for the young men playing ball there.

Don't get me wrong I am not turning into a fan I am trying to look at it as if this was my team and what I would want them to do.
Lou Holtz was hired in one day...

Don't all you Domers claim to hate the skunkweasels just as much as we Buckeyes do? I've heard scUM plans to start claiming ND as their BIGGEST "rival" game. They tried to do that with MSU when they couldn't beat the Bucks anymore and then when Sparty spanked 'em twice they looked around and decided they better claim either you guys or Central Mich. and Central looked like they got alot coming back next year...so tag you're it! I'm crackin myself up right now!

I've clinched As in all of my classes this semester, so now I just sit in lectures with my laptop and filter through "Bob Stoops to Notre Dame" articles. Years from now doctors will tell me I am obsessive compulsive with Notre Dame football; minutes later I will ask why that's a bad thing.

I guess I'm so anxious because I feel, wholeheartedly, that a stellar coach is the only thing Notre Dame needs to rise to the top again. I will state right now it's a big "only," as it's a huge piece of the puzzle. But it's the only thing the program lacks. Are the academics too tough for kids? Maybe for some of the dipshits other schools pull in, yeah. I have no interest in them anyway, and it's good that Notre Dame doesn't either. It's not like Golden Tate is a Molecular Biology major, and he doesn't need to be. Players don't need to be 4.0 students to play at Notre Dame, you're a fool to think that's the case. Recruiting is not a problem, in fact Notre Dame enjoys some of the best recruiting advantages in the country when things are looking bright for the Irish. It's not facilities either. When Lou was there it was an issue, it isn't anymore. The facilities are as good if not better than anywhere else in the country. The Gug is amazing, as is Notre Dame stadium itself.

It's a coach, plain and simple. All of the people out there saying "ahhh gee well Notre Dame just can't do it anymore," and "they aren't what they used to be" are complete idiots. "Can't" and "haven't" are two different things, and the typical idiotic fan simply can't quite grasp it, and never will.

With Bob Stoops at the helm you'd more than likely see Notre Dame in the national championship picture annually, and I think a lot of Buckeye fans are either reluctant to see that or are afraid. I don't know why they'd be afraid, Ohio State is probably the fifth most successful program of the decade, whereas Notre Dame doesn't even crack the top forty.

I'm done talking in circles for the night. It's going to be another fun day tomorrow waiting to hear some new Bob Stoops news.....
What an incredible post. It will be on the the wall soon of my Notre Dame office. It should be in the ND AD's office as well.

It will happen again. Trust me.

Then we'd find ourselves complaining about the lack of a "dislike" button for all of the threadshitters on here. :s

I vote that athlete gets on here and give us some details. I demand (read: beg) it!

Hi to everyone on free huddle since this is my first post. I'm not a ND "fan", but nor am I a "hater" either. I do feel that a competetive ND team is very good for college football as a whole. Having the Irish mentioned in the Top 10, occcasionally being in the NC hunt, is to me what college football is all about. I hope they get a great candidate that can resurect the program so they can compete with the better teams in the NCAA.

That being said, ND's biggest problem is on defense. Offensively, they were pretty good this year. However, when I watched a few of their games, I saw on a regular basis things like players dropping their heads right before a tackle, not wrapping up, overpursuing, poor angles, being out of position etc... If they could have corrected those defensive problems, you're probably looking at a 10-2 team this year.

The job is a prestigous one, and the coach who can turn it around will become legendary whether anyone wants to admit it or not.
