2016 General College Football Discussion

Benny The JetI'm surprised more hasn't been brought up about Stoops and the university. Forget NFL,how was this dude still in college playing?!?! Having video evidence makes thsee situations so much more real, ask Ray Rice. Maybe sports radio and TV will go off on them on Monday since this was released Friday afternoon. I really hope they do though, Mixon and the university deserve to get destroyed for this

Azubuike24The same school that brought in Green-Beckham and who took on Westbrook from JUCO after seeing his past? They really just don't give a shit, it seems.

He broke 4 bones in her face.Azubuike24;1828939 wrote:Awful. Not defending it. She did strike him first. I don't know the back story. If that's another dude, it's not a "domestic violence" issue.
As for the drafted part...the league is full of players who did this shit. The NFL doesn't give a shit.
Look no further than one of the latest NFL buzz players, Tyreek Hill. -
wildcats20I don't care if she hit him with a damn baseball bat. You NEVER hit a woman.
-
wildcats20And a huge LOL to the Minnesota football team. They have ended their boycott and will play in the Holiday Bowl. And the 10 players weren't reinstated.

That's an absurd exaggeration. If some crazy ho hits a guy with a baseball bat he definitely has grounds to punch her in the face. Being a woman isn't a get out of jail free card from any sort of retaliation if attacked.wildcats20;1828967 wrote:I don't care if she hit him with a damn baseball bat. You NEVER hit a woman.

Sure it's an exaggeration, but there is no reason to hit a woman.iclfan2;1828969 wrote:That's an absurd exaggeration. SportsAndLadyLol obviously if a crazy woman randomly came after you with a baseball bat, sure you can justify hitting her.
But generally speaking, you absolutely never hit a woman. This guy is a POS, and so is the OU regime for allowing him to play. How the fuck do you watch that video and go, "1 year should be good enough!" SMH -

If a women wants to act like a man......they better be able to take a punch. But I am sure she was hitting for a reason. He likely deserved it.wildcats20;1828967 wrote:I don't care if she hit him with a damn baseball bat. You NEVER hit a woman. -

The fact that you are a school teacher is mind-boggling -
Con_AlmaRon Dayne's record is no more. SDSU's Donnel Pumphrey has become FBS' all-time leading rusher.
Pretty cool that as soon as it happened Ron Dayne publicly sent congrats and calls Pumphrey the GOAT. -

You literally just provided a reason with the baseball bat hypothetical.wildcats20;1828970 wrote:Sure it's an exaggeration, but there is no reason to hit a woman. -

I read that the NCAA did not count Dayne's bowl yardage. Not sure how someone can have a record if the guy that held it before has 700+ yards more. Pumphrey was allowed to count his bowl yardage.Con_Alma;1828997 wrote:Ron Dayne's record is no more. SDSU's Donnel Pumphrey has become FBS' all-time leading rusher.

That is true. You'll have to get some type of explanation from the NCAA. I've never seen anywhere why exactly that is.mcburg93;1829005 wrote:I read that the NCAA did not count Dayne's bowl yardage. Classyposter58One of the worst coaching decisions ever by UT. Down 3 late they take a delay of game to set up a 30 yarder instead of a 25 yard FG, so of course naturally the kicker barely misses it to the right. W/o that 5 yards it's a tie game
-
Azubuike24There's literally no difference between a 25 and 30 yarder. Some kickers would also argue that the angle matters a lot more depending where on the hash it is. Certain spots, a slightly longer kick is better because it's a better angle. It's easy to call "hindsight" and say he missed it because of the extra 5 yards.

iclfan2Fucking YSU!!!' If you didn't see it, the last catch was insane. https://twitter.com/brianmfloyd/status/810316647785500672

SonofanumpInsane is accurate to describe the ending of that game.

ernest_t_bass
What is the rulebook reference for that being a good catch? That's pretty impressive.Sonofanump;1829014 wrote:Insane is accurate to describe the ending of that game. -

No it went over the right upright. I guarantee he makes it from 25, that 15 feet would have allowed it to go throughAzubuike24;1829011 wrote:There's literally no difference between a 25 and 30 yarder. That's crazy and makes no sense! Definitely gonna look into that and see the NCAA's reasoning.Con_Alma;1829007 wrote:That is true. You'll have to get some type of explanation from the NCAA. I've never seen anywhere why exactly that is. -
Ironman92Grambling receiver had a better catch
-
ironman02Looks like the NCAA didn't start counting stats from bowl games until 2002.

You can have possession of the ball even if it is pinned against an opponent.ernest_t_bass;1829015 wrote:What is the rulebook reference for that being a good catch? That's pretty impressive. -

I just do not understand why they wouldn't include them before that time. They should have access to the game stats before that time. Just another thing the NCAA has screwed up.ironman02;1829025 wrote:Looks like the NCAA didn't start counting stats from bowl games until 2002.
I am happy for the kid on his great career.
