College Basketball Random Chatter 2015-2016 Season

I still have horrible memories of that game against Duke. That was my freshman year and my friends and I went down for that game. Anthony Myles was so dominant in the first half. And then to come out of the break and pick up a few quick fouls completely changed everything.reclegend22;1783134 wrote:Xavier is a bona fide basketball school. In a year where almost anyone could cut down the nets on the first Monday in April, it would be pretty cool if the Musketeers were to win it all. Had Duke not narrowly escaped the Musketeers in the Elite Eight in 2004, Lionel Chalmers and Romain Sato probably lead Xavier to the national championship game and once there who knows. That was a great team by the time spring rolled around that year.
I really like watching this team. -

It's ok the next game all of us Duke fans have terrible memories as well. Still cannot believe UConn came back and won.sherm03;1783221 wrote:I still have horrible memories of that game against Duke. MulvaUtah is up 30-2 on Arizona State.

wildcats2044-10 at half.

MulvaGrayson Allen with another intentional trip tonight? I'm shocked.
-
Azubuike24The Ivy actually has 3 pretty good teams this year. Columbia at Princeton tonight. Yale leads at 9-1, they split with Princeton, who is 8-1, while Columbia is 8-2 (with losses to Yale and Princeton). Basically, if Princeton beats both, we would have a true, 3-way tie, for the first time in forever. The last one was 2002, but the teams didn't have the same record. I'm not even sure how it would work but it would possibly end up being a Saturday with like 4 Ivy League games.

Needs suspended 2 games and just stop it.Mulva;1783346 wrote:Grayson Allen with another intentional trip tonight? I'm shocked. -
Azubuike24Lots of debate whether he meant to do this one. From the video, I guess it could go either way.
-
wildcats20Lol there is no debate. That and the other one were 100% on purpose. He knew what he was doing.
-
Laley23Ive played many sports...especially soccer...and that was intentional lol. Leg going backwards like that? Come on.
-
wildcats20But he got a reprimand from the ACC. So all is ok.
-
SportsAndLadyI love how we keep hearing from former Duke players that K will take care of him, the Duke way.
Uhhh what's that? Nothing? -
reclegend22It was an act of stupidity. If for whatever reason Allen suffers from some sort medical condition that won't allow him to stop tripping people, then his legs should be amputated. I am all for talking smack -- like it or not, it is part of competition at the highest of levels -- but sticking a leg out and tripping somebody is a punk move by any standard of "dirty" play.
Having said that, a Louisville player slams Grayson's head against the floor, resulting in a bloody lip, and is presented a dead-ball technical foul. No suspension -- or public outcry -- follows. Are we saying that because Grayson's act wasn't properly dealt with by the officiating crew that he somehow deserves retribution after the fact just because it was missed the first time? The trip was on purpose and deserved a technical, not a suspension. -

How many times has that Louisville player been involved in a similar incident? Because that is Allen's third.reclegend22;1783508 wrote:It was an act of stupidity. Ironman92It's Busch League...suspend him a couple games and at least act like you don't condone that behavior

Problem is Grayson has a history of doing shit like that. When you're a repeat offender you don't really get to fall back on the "it was an act of stupidity" excuse. It just kinda becomes your thing.reclegend22;1783508 wrote:It was an act of stupidity. Ironman92Lol at J Will

friendfromlowryDayton has really looked awful past week or two. Down by double digits at home to Rhode Island. Needed overtime to win an ugly game against St. Louis earlier this week and lost twice last week.

Honest question - what's his history? This is his second (or third?) time tripping? What else has he done?SportsAndLady;1783521 wrote:Problem is Grayson has a history of doing shit like that. wildcats20Hell of a comeback by G'Town.

reclegend22Reports indicate that Georgetown to sign John Thompson III to a lifetime contract on the heels of almost beating Butler.

Your hatred for JTIII is the best, Rec. -
ironman02Anybody get to watch Carolina/UVA?
Looking at the box score, it seems like FT shooting and turnovers killed the Heels. Tough to win at JPJ, but I was still hoping they could pull it off.
The ACC race is very interesting now. -
SportsAndLadyXavier going down to Seton Hall...does anyone want to be a 1 seed this year?
