Takes away a win over top 10 team

It makes their best win a little less impressive but also makes TCU win look better also.

Now 11 teams still with a prayer

They'll have wins over something like #13 and 15 instead of #5 and 23. There's not really any net gain or loss.

I love how rivalry week has been condensed down to the two days after Thanksgiving as opposed to how it used to be with the week before and then this week. So many huge scenarios today

Pretty much correct. If you are touching the ground when striking the pylon, you do get goal line extended.

    Lee Corso is brutal today.

South Carolina with a TD and a two point conversion. Cuts leaf to 3.

Seriously thought they would have trouble....Clemson not known for their clutchness.....Dabo good but unproven for the next step

Losing this would be the ultimate Clemsoning.

Damn UNC put up 35 in the first quarter against NC State. They are definitely going to give Clemson a game...if shitty ass South Carolina can score 30+ on the Tigers.

Does everyone agree that with a win tonight, Oklahoma is in the final four? Would be outright Big 12 champs...

No I wouldn't agree. Lack of a title game leaves them expendable.

True, I guess it depends who wins the championship games. However, if Notre Dame loses, I don't see Oklahoma isn't a lock given they are conference champs and the Pac 12 won't have less than a 2-loss team. Assuming Michigan State, Florida, Alabama and North Carolina all win?

    Alabama (11-1) vs Florida (11-1)
Michigan State (11-1) vs Iowa (12-0)
Clemson (12-0) vs North Carolina (11-1)

I guess Ohio State would have a chance if Notre Dame loses...and then say North Carolina or Florida win their leagues. Although, I think it would be hard to deny a Florida SEC Champ and a North Carolina team who has won 12 in a row. Some interesting scenarios...

Definite should be interesting. And who knows what the committee actually values.
  • Azubuike24
    Worst case scenario for Oklahoma.

    Clemson wins out
    Iowa wins out
    Alabama wins out
    Notre Dame wins out

I think that's the only way they get snubbed.

Florida has absolutely no claim to the playoff. They would need to beat FSU and Alabama by three touchdowns each. I've watched every game this year and they are not a top team.
  • Azubuike24
Absolutely they aren't, which is why I caution discussing it. However, they aren't out of it.

I'd like to see them lose though...they only muddy the discussion.
  • GOONx19
But I suppose the SEC name would get them in if they finished with just one loss. They just aren't good. And they're playing their worst football now.
  • Azubuike24
They were done after losing Grier. Wouldn't be shocked if they lose two straight by double figures. Their offense is brutal.

    i agree

Love how the SEC announcers Daniels and Lundquist are attempting to play up Auburn's defense. Only one team has scored more than 30 on them!!!

I also like the complete lack of notoriety of how good the B1G is this year. Iowa, MSU, and OSU all are having undefeated/1 loss seasons and even UM is solid even though they have 3 losses now. There's also been a hell of a lot of close games all year from supposed bottom feeders.

Whoever wins the B1G will probably be the favorite in the CFP.

I'm hoping for chaos personally. FSU beats Florida, Florida beats Alabama, Stanford beats ND, Okst beats Oklahoma. Let's put 3 B1G teams in the final and pull an SEC.
