What is it based on then?Azubuike24;1764428 wrote:Sagarin is not based on voters. Nobody is voting to come up with these rankings. -

Maybe they could drop Charleston Southern for a home and home with a quality northern opponent.sportswizuhrd;1764412 wrote:So they should decline invites to play USC at Jerry World (or whatever he calls that damn place) or FSU at the Georgia Dome to play a home and home series against someone like Louisville? Why would anyone do that? -

To reiterate this, Michigan has the following home and home series coming up in the next 12 years...SportsAndLady;1764413 wrote:Who said anything about Louisville?
Ohio State, Michigan, notre dame, etc. all big time programs they could schedule home and home series.
Arkansas
Virgina Tech
Washington
UCLA
Oklahoma
Texas
They're also playing Colorado(Big 5) in 2016, but I'm not sure if they're going to Colorado AND Florida in Arlington in 2017. B1G has always been willing to play other Big5(6) conferences. -

Winner plays Ferris and that unreal QB. I see him playing TE in the NFL.redstreak one;1764427 wrote:Ncaa II playoffs this saturday at noon Ashland (Ohio) vs Grand Valley State for first round. Lets Go Eagles! -

Yeah, JVL is a beast. Not real happy the Ncaa put all 3 Gliac teams on the same side of the bracket.Sonofanump;1764495 wrote:Winner plays Ferris and that unreal QB. I see him playing TE in the NFL. -

sherm03Dream scenario:
FSU beats Florida last week of the season. Then Florida beats Bama in the SEC championship game.
SEC shut out of the playoffs. I'd laugh my ass off. -

In that scenario, somehow Florida or someone random like LSU will be put in.sherm03;1764587 wrote:Dream scenario:

sportswizuhrdWorst case scenario for each of the big 5. IMO,...
P12
Already have reached it. Need upsets to happen to get a team in and they need the conference champ to be Stanford. A win vs ND and P12 title along with the upsets, and they could be in.
B1G
OSU beats MSU
Nebraska beats Iowa.
UM beats OSU
UM beats Iowa.
SEC
See Sherm's post
ACC
NC St beats UNC
UNC beats Clemson
The Big 12 I am stuck on. They won't have a 2 loss champion. I guess it would be OSU going undefeated and still not getting a team in.
Notre Dame
Any loss.
Each of these scenarios are only based on no other upsets happening in any other conference. While not likely, it's not far fetched too. -
sherm03
Is that how the B1G would shake out if it played out that way? MSU beat UM, OSU beats MSU, and UM beats OSU. The tie-breaker goes to UM?sportswizuhrd;1764612 wrote:B1G

UM beats Iowa.
I would think OSU would have the tie-breaker since all 3 would have 1 division loss, but UM and MSU have 2 losses total. So OSU would have the better overall record with only 1 loss and get in the Big Championship game. -

It would be 2 way tie with UM/OSU. MSU already has a conference loss.sherm03;1764616 wrote:Is that how the B1G would shake out if it played out that way? MSU beat UM, OSU beats MSU, and UM beats OSU. The tie-breaker goes to UM?

sleeperLOL @ UM beating OSU. It will be a 30 point blow out. Michigan isn't "back".

You're right...my bad. Brain wasn't working right. So OSU eliminates MSU by giving them their second conference loss. UM beats OSU...so they each have 1 conference loss, and then UM gets the tie-breaker because they have the head-to-head against OSU...even though they have a worse overall record. Do I have that right?Al Bundy;1764620 wrote:It would be 2 way tie with UM/OSU. MSU already has a conference loss. -

wildcats20If it were a 3 way tie, with Sparty not losing to Nebraska, it would come down to CFP ranking. Which we wouldn't even know until the Tuesday after the OSU/Michigan game.

I wouldn't be shocked if PSU eliminates UM this week.sleeper;1764638 wrote:LOL @ UM beating OSU. It will be a 30 point blow out. Michigan isn't "back". -
wildcats20Houston is set to pay Tom Herman $3 mil a year to keep there.

I bet Herman gets more elsewhere. He's the hottest coach in America right now and some big time program will offer substantially more.wildcats20;1764673 wrote:Houston is set to pay Tom Herman $3 mil a year to keep there. -

Also gets a $1m bonus if they reach a NY6 bowl, and if a Major conference offers Houston a spot (Big 12) it's an immediate $5m.wildcats20;1764673 wrote:Houston is set to pay Tom Herman $3 mil a year to keep there. -

Crimson streakSome good news for ND... Jarron jones will be back for the post season after they thought he would be done for the year. Would be a huge boost to the d line

You may have to wait a week longer than that.
"The College Football Playoff selection committee is taking the necessary measures to ensure Navy's success doesn't complicate bowl season. The final College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings are scheduled to be released on Dec. 6, however, should Navy win the American Athletic Conference (AAC), the selection committee will wait until after the Army-Navy game on Dec. 12 to release all the rankings, according to a statement obtained by USA TODAY.
The Midshipmen's final game of the season counts towards their yearly evaluation, but happens after Selection Sunday.
If Navy wins the AAC, it will head to the conference championship game and join a group of six candidates for the Group of Five slot in the CFP New Year's Six. ..."
