Maybe, but they've shown not to care at all about the Big 12superman;1765420 wrote:They will probably give it to Baylor to shutv the Big 12 up. -

If Oklahoma state beats Oklahoma, then I think that makes Baylor the big 12 champ due to their head to head win over Oklahoma st. Assuming they don't decide to have co-champs again.
IMHO Stanford and Baylor would have a pretty good claim to the 4th spot. I'm not sure which of them would be more deserving. -
slingshot4everOnly shot for OSU is to have PSU beat MSU so we can add another quality win vs Iowa.

sleeperOSU only deserves to get in if they win the B1G championship game. No other scenario would they be deserving.
In order for that to happen, MSU has to lose and we have to win this week. If that happens, we will repeat as national champions. -

I rarely agree with what you say but in this case you are 100% right. Only if they beat Michigan and get in the B1G title game and win do they deserve to get in the playoffs and get a chance to repeat.sleeper;1765475 wrote:OSU only deserves to get in if they win the B1G championship game. TiernanOSU is done even if that happens - no way do they let 'em in again.

IF Michigan State would lose to PSU, they would drop out of consideration completely leaving only 7 teams ahead of Ohio State. If, Ohio State wins against UM, that would give us a quality win, moving us up to at worst 7, however 5-6 probably likely.Tiernan;1765638 wrote:OSU is done even if that happens - no way do they let 'em in again.
1.) Clemson
2.) Bama
3.) OU
4.) Iowa
5.) ND
6.) OSU
In the B1G Title game, if Ohio State beats Iowa, that'd be the 2nd Top 10 win in consecutive weeks. Which would also now drop Iowa from contention, leaving only ND ahead of the Buckeyes for a spot. The committee has already shown they don't respect the Big 12, because of no title game, so there really is no confidence in them staying in the top 4, especially after the last to wins by Ohio State.
Clemson
Bama
ND
OSU
TL;DR Version....
While highly unlikely, if Ohio State can make it to the B1G title game against an undefeated Iowa, and win....they should be in. -

Yes. Basically, the rankings have shown that the Big 10 champ, regardless of who it ends up being with the exception being maybe Michigan, will be in the top 4.HighRoller74;1765641 wrote: TL;DR Version....

Disagree. B1G champ is guaranteed at this point, even Michigan. Michigan is 10th right now and they would have a win over #6 and MSU would have to have 2 losses dropping them back. That puts them at minimum 8th where they would get to play an undefeated Iowa who is #3 in the B1G champ game. That's a guaranteed way to jump up to #4 at least.sherm03;1765649 wrote:Yes. I disagree. Michigan has 2 losses. Even if they win the Big 10 championship, they will be just on the outside looking in. Just my opinion. Too many 1 loss teams that would go ahead of them. I think if Michigan wins the Big 10 (highly unlikely, but possible), it's Clemson, Bama, Big 12 Champ, and Notre Dame.sleeper;1765703 wrote:Disagree. Two of those 4 schools will be sitting on their hands while the B1G champ wins a big time game against a quality opponent. Did you watch last year at all?sherm03;1765709 wrote:I disagree. You mean when the B1G team had one loss instead of two and needed to utterly demolish Wisconsin to move ahead of the Big 12 teams?sleeper;1765710 wrote:Two of those 4 schools will be sitting on their hands while the B1G champ wins a big time game against a quality opponent. A two-loss big ten champion Michigan deserves a spot over freaking ND and Oklahoma. Those schools would have 6 losses in the B1G.Heretic;1765723 wrote:You mean when the B1G team had one loss instead of two and needed to utterly demolish Wisconsin to move ahead of the Big 12 teams? -

I did watch last year. Doesn't change the fact that a 2-loss conference champion is on the outside looking in when you have big name 1 loss teams in the mix.sleeper;1765710 wrote:Two of those 4 schools will be sitting on their hands while the B1G champ wins a big time game against a quality opponent. Ohio State, Sparty and Iowa - if any of those teams win the Big 10, they are in. If Michigan wins the Big 10, the Big 10 will be shut out of the playoffs. I'd say to book it. But the likelihood of Michigan winning the Big 10 is so small that this discussion is pretty much worthless anyways. -

Big name 1 loss teams who don't play a championship game. The committee showed last year it doesn't value those teams and maybe this will finally be the correct catalyst to get ND to stop being a prima donna and join a conference.sherm03;1765817 wrote:I did watch last year. TiernanLet's say OSU beats scUM tomorrow (don't think they will but...) and MSU beats PSU...what worthless bowl will the Buckeyes go to? And who would travel to see it?
for me the new motto is "If you ain't in the 4, just shut the fucking door". All other bowls are meaningless now. -

Looking like if they are both left out of the playoffs, prediction is Notre Dame/OSU in the Fiesta Bowl.Tiernan;1765997 wrote:Let's say OSU beats scUM tomorrow (don't think they will but...) and MSU beats PSU...what worthless bowl will the Buckeyes go to? And who would travel to see it?

In a way i agree with you. Anything but the playoffs is meaningless but you can get 6 more weeks of practice. I think you bench everyone who is leaving and use the game as a warm up for next year.Tiernan;1765997 wrote:Let's say OSU beats scUM tomorrow (don't think they will but...) and MSU beats PSU...what worthless bowl will the Buckeyes go to? All of the die hard fans who attend the meaningless bowl would be pissed if zeke, 12-gauge, Bosa and friends did not play just because they (most likely) are bolting for the NFL.superman;1766004 wrote: I think you bench everyone who is leaving and use the game as a warm up for next year.
