National Semifinal Sugar Bowl OSU vs Alabama

I think Meyer would disagree as he has flat out said the OSU wide receivers were just not very good a couple of years ago. They were young. They have improved tremendously and they have a couple young guys who have stepped up. Across the board, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better group of WR in the country.sportchampps;1692126 wrote:The wide recievers weren't really that bad before OSU just didn't throw it as good as they do now because of Braxton Miller. -

I was expecting something more ridiculous. Anger towards Kiffin is legitimate as he's an overrated coach profiting off his name. His hatred towards the QB is a bit much, but other than that kind of a lackluster video as far as outrageous homerism post-game losses are concerned.Automatik;1692173 wrote:lol Bama tool

For a sisterfister, I was impressed by his ability to string a few sentences together without chanting SEC. -
thavoiceDont quite understand why someone would even record their own rant to put on youtube, and then others are dumb enough to watch?

Yeah I felt the same, wasted 5 minutes. I just don't get the point of posting shit like that. He has other, also retarded, videos out there.Commander of Awesome;1692185 wrote:lol why did I watch that whole thing.

Midstate01Just read the entire thread while getting a break from driving back from NOLA. Was fun seeing things I had forgotten about. Game was incredible. Buckeye fans showed up in crazy numbers. Even bama boosters sitting in the suite behind me kept pointing out how loud we were and how many osu fans there were.
Was an amazing few days. Now contemplating if I drive up from San Antonio or not... tickets are insane! -
gerb131When will this be replayed?

FootwedgeDon't know if this was discussed, probably was.
Urban had a bad case of shit for brains in not running the ball 3 times and worse case scenario barring a fumble, Bama would have had to go 80 plus yards in 50 seconds. I like those percentages. As it was, Bama had 80 yards to go with a 1:30 left.
Bad, bad coaching there Urb.
Secondly, what the hell was that non fumble call all about on Bama's last possession? The ball popped out while the pass receiver was standing straight up. That was the worst call I've ever seen. -

Hindsight 20/20. If that play hits, you are lauding the brilliant play call. I admit I about went through the roof when Cardale dropped back, but understand the reasoning, though I would've had Devin out there for the pass.Footwedge;1692282 wrote:Don't know if this was discussed, probably was.

Part of me felt like they were trying to reward Spencer by going deep his way. The drive before he had the nastiest block I've ever seen by a WR that took out 2 guys and sprung EZE. But no, wasn't a fan of the call at all.se-alum;1692299 wrote:Hindsight 20/20. If that play hits, you are lauding the brilliant play call. Yep. Even though it didn't matter in the end, still stupid and could have easily cost them.Benny The Jet;1692305 wrote:Part of me felt like they were trying to reward Spencer by going deep his way. If the play hits, I would not be lauding the call at all. Bad percentage play doesn't change that. I'm a big fan of "still playing" late in the game when nursing a lead. For example. up six with 4 minutes to play...you have to throw the ball. Too many coaches think that grinding out 3 first downs on the ground is the way to go. Not when the defense is selling out to stop the run. But this scenario was a lot different.se-alum;1692299 wrote:Hindsight 20/20. If that play hits, you are lauding the brilliant play call. So what about the non fumble call? Why aren't people bitching about that? Worst call I've ever seen. Ever. Urban should have called a time out and challenged that. If he had, he would not have had to watch 2 last second passes thrown into the end zone. -

Thought that was a very suspect non-call as well. We were going nuts while watching it. I've only seen the angle they showed on TV while watching it live. Is there any other angles out there from the sideline or anything?Footwedge;1692309 wrote:If the play hits, I would not be lauding the call at all. Bad percentage play doesn't change that. SportsAndLadyWhy the fuck are we talking about Urban's coaching in a game we won? Shut the fuck up footwedge.

sleeperUrban Meyer best coach in America.

AutomatikThat deep ball was the only questionable move the coaching staff made the entire fucking game. I was cool with it though, if it hits, ball game. Regardless we won. 2 days later and I still can't stop smiling when I think of it.

But but but what about Urban's decision not to call a timeout to force a challenge to the fumble play?!?!Automatik;1692337 wrote:That deep ball was the only questionable move the coaching staff made the entire fucking game. Lovejoy1984Exactly. Not calling a time out let the clock continue to run, maybe we get the ball, maybe we don't then they have more time and don't have to settle for 2 Hail Marys
Also regarding the deep ball, that's exactly what buckeye nation wanted the entire time we had Tressel as our coach.

No, certainly NOT in that situation. Sorry, that was a piss poor call no matter how anyone wants to spin it. It gave Bama 40+ seconds and saved them a timeout. People wanna say, what if it worked? Well, it didn't and what if Bama had scored with that extra time? That "what if" can go either way. OSU should have never been in that late game situation giving Bama the chances they did. Terrible call, period. And yes we can question it..its a discussion forum.HighRoller74;1692345 wrote: Also regarding the deep ball, that's exactly what buckeye nation wanted the entire time we had Tressel as our coach.

SportsAndLadyIn college there isn't that much of a difference between getting the ball needing a touchdown with 55 seconds left and same situation but with 1:30 left. That playcall was to end the game. Even if you run the ball in that situation (and don't get a first down) you're not going to end the game. The call was a bit unorthodox but it was not "piss poor"
