The only quarterback worth drafting this year is...

FootwedgeJohnny football. The guy is amazing. Teddy and Mariota's numbers don't come remotely close to Manziel. In addition, the ability to scramble and run is huge. Just ask Seattle Seahawk fans.
The guy will be a Fran Tarkenton clone...and smash records like frantic Fran did.
He's the only q'back the Browns should consider drafting. -
robj55He's too small and he makes way too many mistakes, won't be able to make plays like throwing it in the air to Mike Evans in the NFL. He will be hurt every other week.

Pick6Well now that footwedge has said it, we know all we need to know.
Dont touch Johnny football with a 10 ft pole. -

Pick6for a mid-round pick, I really like Keith Wenning from Ball St.

He's just as big as Russell Wilson....and a good bit better than Wilson in every facet. Fran Tarkenton was 175 lbs. How'd he end up? Manziel...73% completion percentage....and tore Alabama a new asshole 2 straight years.robj55;1535283 wrote:He's too small and he makes way too many mistakes, won't be able to make plays like throwing it in the air to Mike Evans in the NFL. Compare those numbers with Mariota...(61% completion rate) and Bridgewater around 67%. No comparison. -

Russell Wilson is more accurate and has way better intangibles. Wilson has character off the charts and Manziel is getting thrown out of Manning camp for being hungover, his character flaws are enough to stray away from him. Vick can't stay healthy and neither will Manziel be able to. He is nicked up almost every game in college. Also, some of the plays he makes are amazing but also extremely lucky.Footwedge;1535311 wrote:He's just as big as Russell Wilson....and a good bit better than Wilson in every facet. Intelligence typically wins out in the NFL over athletic ability. I don't trust Manziel to be able to read defenses and survive being hit by NFL defenses.Footwedge;1535311 wrote:He's just as big as Russell Wilson....and a good bit better than Wilson in every facet. sleeperI'd draft Manziel...
in the 7th round. -
believerManziel will get drafted...and fade into obscurity as he rides the bench as a back-up for a real NFL QB.

Scarlet_BuckeyeIMO, there's no QBs worth drafting this year. To me, they ALL have major flaws.

Heretic
Considering that players are a lot larger and stronger and faster than they were in the 70s, I'm not sure what the Tarkenton reference was supposed to accomplish. A lot of great players from that era who would be dismal flops today if they were just dropped into the NFL without access to today's training/weight-lifting/etc. techniques.Footwedge;1535311 wrote:He's just as big as Russell Wilson....and a good bit better than Wilson in every facet. Sounds like you haven't watch Johnny Football at this all year then. His accuracy has been great, at the very worst it's very close to Russell's during his JR year @ NCSU and his SR year @ Wisco. He's suffered the past 2 or 3 weeks because of his injuries. Before them, he was pretty spectacular with the delivery and ball placement of his throws.robj55;1535324 wrote:Russell Wilson is more accurate
I'm not advocating him to the Browns though, because of his recklessness. If he can cut down on that, I'm sold. -

Is that because you hate Manziel the person or Manziel the QB? If it's Manziel the person, then I understand.vball10set;1535495 wrote:If this happens, I become a Packers fan immediately -

Guilty as charged. I also didn't like Braylon Edwards the person, but I still rooted for the Brownies--so don't take my threat too literally. -
Terry_TateFootwedge loves Johnny Football as much as I do. Oh no.

se-alumI've watched a couple A&M games, and it just seems like Manziel gets bailed out a lot by his legs and Mike Evans. He uses that toss it up and let Evans get it play quite often, just like Denard did at Michigan. Also, Braxton Miller is completing 73% of his passes this year, is he a first rounder?

Prolly not, but only because of the perception of OSU QB's due to the players drafted in the past. I'd like to see him taken in the 3-5 rounds and make those taken above him look silly. -
AutomatikI'm not sure Miller has a future in the NFL, but I'll be pulling for him. He still has a year to get better, so we shall see.
