The only quarterback worth drafting this year is...

Honestly, I didn't think he could play in the NFL either, but his passing and, more importantly, his ability to go through his reads has improved tremendously. Another summer with Whitfield, and another season, I think he will be a first or 2nd rounder next year.

He's greatly improved in his ability to read a D and go through progressions. I'm actually surprised in how far he's come in that regards.

I'm just not sure if he can handle the physical nature of the NFL. Will he be able to handle the hits?

His accuracy has been great, at the very worst it's very close to Russell's during his JR year @ NCSU and his SR year @ Wisco. He's suffered the past 2 or 3 weeks because of his injuries. Before them, he was pretty spectacular with the delivery and ball placement of his throws.

I'm not advocating him to the Browns though, because of his recklessness. If he can cut down on that, I'm sold.
He is accurate but gets bailed out a lot by Mike Evans, I've seen him make some horrible reads and throws only to have them completed.

Totally agree on the question of him being able to handle the physicality of the NFL, but that question is there for Manziel to, and people have him pretty high on the board.

    Yup

Curious to what the supposed knock on Bridgewater is. Been on his bandwagon since the beginning of the season, and still am.

I'd like to know that as well. He's got the best deep ball I've seen this season. I did tail off on watching Louisville though, it's been a few weeks.

Those aren't mutually exclusive dude. He can still be extremely accurate and get bailed out.

Ever watch Stafford with Calvin? When you have a stud who can catch in traffic, you're much more tempted to just throw it up and let them do their thing. That's the case with Manziel/Evans.

Even Green with Dalton too. But yeah when the play has broken down usually it's just a fuck it I'm gonna throw it to CJ and see what happens. On a side note, CJ has to be the best player of Jackpot in the history of history. Had to of absolutely dominated at recess

A lot of great players from that era who would be dismal flops today if they were just dropped into the NFL without access to today's training/weight-lifting/etc. techniques.
LOL. My allusion to Tarkenton was spot on. Manziel is faster and quicker than Fran was...thus the reference. The crap about today's athletes being this and that...blah..blah...blah...is beyond annoying.

Tarkenton excelled in his era...Manziel is excelling in this era.

Yeah he sure looked dumb as hell as he hung 42 points on Alabama this year didn't he? Lame.

Wilson has character off the charts and Manziel is getting thrown out of Manning camp for being hungover, his character flaws are enough to stray away from him. Vick can't stay healthy and neither will Manziel be able to. He is nicked up almost every game in college. Also, some of the plays he makes are amazing but also extremely lucky.
Stats say otherwise. Try again. As for his off the field antics, he's 20 years old and the best football player in the college ranks. My guess will be that he grows up. He's not a substance abuser...so the worry is pretty remote. Also...who gives a shit if he's a pompous ass? Read Unitas' profile sometime. Or Bobby Lane...list is endless.

And you rationalize your opinion...how? Because he's not an altar boy? Mmmmkay.

All of them have flaws...except Johhny football.

Looks like Aikman and Brees agree with me. But what the fukk do they know?

Maybe because he ran for 100 yards and threw for 460 yards on God's team. 5 td passes to boot.

His name is Johnny Manziel...use it.

Tons of college QB's that put up big numbers and never pan out in the NFL. They're called system QB's, and they can't hack it in the league because they've never had to read a defense past one or two reads.

Because Alabama didn't force Manziel to go through his reads...

You're preaching the fact that Braxton worked with Whitfield, and how much it's improved his read progression and in the same breath discounting the fact that Manziel worked with Whitfield too and also has improved a great ton in progressing through his reads.

Thanks for the laugh, I get a kick out of blatant hypocrisy.

In comparison to those chasing him, he isn't.

    Lol Reps.

As for Manziel I think he has flaws and could be a decent a guy. I'm really not sold on any of the QBs coming out. I'm sure some will be good but it's going to be hit or miss. If I had to take one guy I'd probably go with Aaron Murray.

It's obvious, a lot of people discounting Manziel haven't really watched much of him.

The NFL is as much of a leap from college as college is from HS. Running QB's don't last long and the play is ridiculously fast. I can only think of two college QB's in recent memory that were sure things in the NFL - Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck based on their skill, leadership and work ethic. Everything else is a crapshoot. You might get a Tom Brady or Drew Brees, or you might get a Ryan Leaf or David Klingler.

Even recent media darlings like Newton, Kaepernick and RGIII have taken their lumps in the NFL.

I don't see Manziel (or anyone else in this year's QB class) distinguishing themselves.
