Its probably not as easy to change the way you have played defense your whole life as you think.Classyposter58;1534673 wrote:My lord these fouls are actually annoying me, just too many. Put your hands up people -

They might, but arent they pre-season #5 or 6 in the MAC???gerb131;1534686 wrote:Expected more from Ross. Ou a good test they'll make noise in March. -

Believe so. But I think a lot of that had to do with the uncertainty of life after Cooper. They looked a little better than I thought, even though I think OSU is overrated right now. Not top 10, but prob top 25.Laley23;1534730 wrote:They might, but arent they pre-season #5 or 6 in the MAC??? -

Somewhere like that. Not what I saw on the court tonight though. That big guy ndour needs some polish and he will be a factorLaley23;1534730 wrote:They might, but arent they pre-season #5 or 6 in the MAC??? -

Agreed. Ohio is better than I thought and Ohio State - IMHO - is not a Top 10 team yet.Pick6;1534737 wrote:Believe so. But I think a lot of that had to do with the uncertainty of life after Cooper. centralbucksfanJust flat out ugly game all around. OSU did not look good. They had good looks, just didn't shoot the ball well. Give OU credit. They played hard, harder than OSU. Kellogg and Taylor played great. Bright spot for OSU was Amir Williams. But overall, very lackluster game for OSU. Fouls were just ridiculous both ways. It took the flow out of the game. And although OSU obviously shot more of them..it still brought the game to a hault and slowed it down enough to help OU. Being at the game, anyone who thinks it was an OSU homer is just stupid. The fouls were called VERY close. New rules and players are going to have to adjust. But last night was a little over the top on many of those calls. These officials cannot go from one extreme to the other. Not when these players have learned to play like they have over years. There has to be a middle ground.
Anyway, ugly game as I said. Long season, games like this happen on occasion..look around at scores. Might be good wake up call for OSU and a couple of the players who's effort was very poor(Ross). -
redstreak oneRefs are instructed to call fouls that impede the progress of the offensive player, how about taking away carrying the ball and the two step jump stop if you are going to hamstring the defense! Just like the NFL and concussions, the Ncaa wants you to think they are trying to clean up the game, all they are doing is trying to put more points on the board because your average dumbass fans only understand points on a scoreboard! They cant appreciate a defensive team!
-
WebFireBased on last night's games, it could be a frustrating season to watch if they continue calling fouls the way they are. MSU/Kentucky game was a bit ridiculous down the stretch.
-
Midstate01Plan on missing the first 25+ minutes of youe teams game.if they play in the 2nd slot of games on tv. The fouls are crazy.

well said. A lot of dipshits struggle with the concept that there is another side to the game than offense.redstreak one;1534825 wrote:Refs are instructed to call fouls that impede the progress of the offensive player, how about taking away carrying the ball and the two step jump stop if you are going to hamstring the defense! AutomatikI've been seeing a lot of negative comments regarding the referring last night...in multiple games. I only watched Duke/Kansas.
Did I miss it? Did the NCAA say they were going to call games tighter this season? That will suck come Big 10 play. One of the reasons I love watching that conference so much is because of the defensive battles and the refs letting them bang for the most part. -

Yes, they did. It has been an issue in literally every single game I have watched so far this season.Automatik;1535157 wrote:I've been seeing a lot of negative comments regarding the referring last night...in multiple games. I only watched Duke/Kansas.

The NCAA made a major push in the offseason to have officials enforce rules more tightly this year. The goal is to improve scoring by increasing the freedom of movement and reducing physical play. It’s working so far, as points are up – and so are fouls. -
AutomatikThat seriously pisses me off. Fucking ruiners.
-
se-alumTeams better be working on zone defenses, because one on one defense is going to be virtually impossible.
-
redstreak one^^^^^ Exactly, nothing from the Ncaa about palming or traveling! Just score baby, thats all they care about, because that puts butts in the seats and drives the money train! lol
-
Classyposter58
Have no problem with this, IMO instead they should have just done a 25 second shot clock. That way Wisconsin can't do 30 second possessions and just shoot 3's all day to winredstreak one;1536026 wrote:^^^^^ Exactly, nothing from the Ncaa about palming or traveling!
