Not a fan of Scott taking minutes from Thompson. I think Scott and Smith need to be the interchangeable players. Thompson just adds too much on offense on a team that is looking for an identity on O

Was at the "scrimmage" yesterday. Not sure one can take much away from this game. Walsh seens to have a decent D2 team. But they can't compete with OSU or any big time program.
As for who starts, who doesn't. Matta said this could be interchangable depending on matchups. He played 8/9 players consistantly through the game. WHich I am sure he wanted to see who could do what. When it was all said and done, everyone ended up playing similar minutes. Obviously, depending on who you are playing, this may be possible, and at times, it won't be. But its still nice to have the luxury to be able to do so. It will help in the long run.
One thing I did see, is that Loving has a great basketball body. Needs to get stronger. But I see no reason why he won't be able to contribute at times during the season. Also, Della Valle will help OSU. The kid can flat out shoot the ball, with an very quick release.
What I do see that concerns me, is that physical presence is missing. Ravenal gave OSU some toughness/physical play last year. Right now, I am not sure they have a player capable of giving that. Which is a concern against teams like MSU.

Ohio State up 49-23 at the half. Pains me that this one is not on tv. Shannon Scott has appeared to replace Sam Thompson in the starting lineup though Thompson is still getting plenty of minutes. Lenzelle with a good first half so far based on numbers and Ross has 9 rebounds already.

I was just gonna ask. No TV at all?

BTN fucks with fans to start the year. Its available only streaming I think. Every team has 1 or 2 games that way cause BTN is pushing their mobil shit on customers.

I really liked what I saw from Loving, even thought he competition was weak. H

e needs to hit the weighroom, but from first glance, he looks to be the next big thing at OSU.

It will be shown as a Student U game Tuesday at 3 p.m., I think. Made sure to tell my friend that, so he (hopefully) remembers to DVR it, so we can watch it either before or after their game that night.

If Scott plays anywhere near how he did on Sat..I have no issues with this. And I don't look at it like he is taking minutes. Who starts means nothing. Even if Thompson did start, I think minutes will end up about the same. As Matta said, its all about matchups, or mismatches. Most on the team, even Thompson said that Scott as flat out been the best player for OSU since practice started. I have been skeptical based on his shooting from outside. Well, he knocked down some shots on Sat. Obviously, it was only Morgan State. So I am not getting too excited yet. But its was a good start, great for his confidence.

By all accounts, Scott's shot has improved tremendously. Also, they say Craft has finally got the hitch completely out of his shot. I still contend this team will be better offensively than last year's team.

Scott's shot did look better. And although Craft didn't shoot well, that little hesitation/hitch wasn't there when he did shoot. Again, competition wasn't great. And showing improvement in one game doesn't justify all is great. Consistancy over a number of games and against good competition will be the proof.

Definitely was nice to hear Scott shot the ball well. I turned it on in the car just as he hit his third 3 at the beginning of the game. Very excited to watch the game tomorrow and see if it continues. If he can consistently hit shots he will have a fantastic season.

Today's the day I hope my friend remembers to DVR Saturday's game when it's on as a Student U production at 3 p.m. (I think). So I can watch two in one day, although with the live one, I'll be in this state of uncomfortable angst since they're playing Ohio.

OSU not looking bad tonight. Not shooting particularly well from the outside, but are hitting their foul shots.
  • LJ
I think they look sloppy as hell
  • Pick6
shocked that Ohio has more points in the paint than OSU.
  • Classyposter58
They have to let a little contact in the paint go, it's getting to be too much as far as what they're calling

It's gotten worse in the 2nd half, they're definitely not as good defensively yet as I thought they would be.

    Slam Thompson with another highlight

    Sloppy sloppy sloppy
