rydawg5Here is the road I think OSU takes to the BCS Championship game. (This road has Baylor winning out as well)
-
rydawg5In my scenario the BCS Bowls would look like this:
BCS Championship game:
OSU vs FSU
Rose Bowl
Oregon Vs Wisconsin
Sugar Bowl
South Carolina vs ucf?
Orange Bowl
Clemson vs Alabama
Fiesta Bowl
Baylor vs Northern Ill
or something like that.. -
rydawg5too bad this board sucks
-
Pick6you have alabama dropping out of the top 10 with a loss to auburn?
-
Azubuike24BCS Predictions as of 11/17 - Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl is the selection order. The Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl will also lose their automatic bids (Sugar #1 and Orange #2), so they will select their first team before the at-larges are picked.
Alabama (BCS #1) vs Florida State (BCS #2) - BCS National Championship
Ohio State (B1G auto) vs Oregon (Pac 12 auto) - Rose Bowl
Baylor (Big XII auto) vs Fresno State (#4 at-large/automatic top 12 non-BCS team) - Fiesta Bowl
Texas A&M (SEC auto replacement #1 pick) vs Wisconsin (#3 at-large)
Clemson (ACC auto replacement 2 pick) vs Central Florida (AAC auto) -
Azubuike24Hey rydawg, we're the same basically. I think A&M will be a big draw if they only have 2 losses and would get picked over South Carolina.
With that said, I kind of want to see A&M drop and end up in the Cotton Bowl vs Oklahoma. That would be AWESOME! -

Yes, I mean Mississippi State. Someone called them one of the worst teams in big time college football and I was pointing out that there are at least 20 BCS teams worse...including almost the entire AAC, ACC and the bottom 4 in the B1G and a few in the Pac 12 and SEC.gorocks99;1537656 wrote:I think in this case MSU is Mississippi State, given the context of the conversation. Could be wrong and Azu is kind of crazy. -
rydawg5No I don't have Alabama out of top 10 - but I think I did on that spreadsheet. I do have them losing to Auburn but staying top 5.

Hopefully (and i think they do) NIU jumps Fresno with wins over Toledo and Bufallo/BGAzubuike24;1537738 wrote:BCS Predictions as of 11/17 - Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl is the selection order. I think Wisconsin/Texas A&M would be entertaining as hell.SportsAndLady;1537750 wrote:Those games fucking suck

I agree on the other ones, but that's what happens when you let the AAC get an automatic bid. It kills the match-ups.
Hey Baylor, you go 12-0, beat the shit out of everyone you play and score 700 points on the season. Your reward? A meaningless bowl game that nobody will watch where you will play a non-BCS opponent who has nothing to lose.
Hell, if OSU and Baylor can't make the title game, I'd love to see them play. Or, A&M vs Baylor. A game that would be ridiculously entertaining. -
Ironman92You also had SC beating Clemson but getting jumped by MSU???
-
rydawg5I was thinking at some point MSU would be a 1 loss team worthy of being over all 2 loss teams, but you are probably right.
-
TiernanSparty's Defense looks like world beaters but then again it goes back to the whole B1G argument of who have they played? Buckeyes cannot give MSU the brush off like they did the Illini or Dantonio will be heading to the Rose.

This ain't the 80's anymore ptown. I would imagine most Buckeye fans care about the NCG more than the Rose Bowl.ptown_trojans_1;1537276 wrote:I do. The Bucks have only been in the Rose Bowl twice since the 90s.
The Rose Bowl is the goal every year for OSU fans.
Sure, the BCS Title game is awesome, but traditionally, it is the Rose Bowl. -
ohiobucks1Am I the only one that wishes there was a way (if we go undefeated and dont make the NC) that we play Baylor? Is it even possible?

For all intents and purposes, no.ohiobucks1;1538191 wrote:Am I the only one that wishes there was a way (if we go undefeated and dont make the NC) that we play Baylor? Is it even possible?
Tradition dictated that the Rose Bowl is the Big 10 vs. Pac 10 champions. When the BCS came into play, I think they made it a rule that they'd respect that when the Rose Bowl wasn't the site for the NC game and if neither conference was in the NC game.
And so it'll be OSU against the Pac 10 champ, regardless of whether OSU vs Baylor makes more sense on every single level other than fucking meaningless pointless tradition.
But that's college football in a nutshell. Great onfield play and the occasional good idea constantly marred by a stubborn reliance on tradition and an ineffectual bureaucracy and (now, as far as at least the Big 10 goes) this stupid-ass idea that good TV markets make a good conference, even if the teams stink. -
Azubuike24Ohio State/Oregon, while that's a "been there, done that" match-up, would still be very entertaining.
Baylor, even if they win out, will not only likely get screwed on the title game, but they will end up in the lowest-tiered bowl (and with the 5th out of 5 at-large selections). They will end up playing Fresno State, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame or some other 2-3-loss team that didn't win their conference.
That's the only gripe with the BCS. Not the rankings. Not the calculations or polls. The lack of flexibility. College football is an unbalanced format and even with a playoff system, the lack of flexibility is concerning. -
Pick6doesnt the B1G and PAC 12 have something to do with that with the tradition of the Rose Bowl being protected, though?
-
AutomatikI asked this a few weeks ago...
Big10/Pac12 locked in the Rose Bowl unless the conference winner plays in the title game, then another team can get the bid.....ala TCU/Wisky a few years back. -
Pick6
yeah, I understand. I'm just saying if you're an OSU fan, and are pissed about lack of flexibility (I wouldn't mind Oregon again), dont blame the NCAA, blame the B1G for wanting to protect sacred "tradition". Playing the same teams over and over again sucks in a bowl game.Automatik;1539045 wrote:I asked this a few weeks ago...

AutomatikI'm curious to see how this will all workout next year with the playoff. What bowls will host the games? Conference winners go out the window? I haven't looked into it much.
