Anybody from Baylor to consider? I dont watch them, but damn that offense puts up numbers.

I agree that the guy now has the fans' and voters' attention, but imo Mariota didn't do anything to diminish his frontrunner status (23 for 32 passing for 327 yards and 2 TDs; 8 carries for 67 yards rushing and 1 TD in 62-38 win over Washington State), but Winston is now the flavor-of-the-week. Time will tell.
At the end of the year, the ballot should not have names. Just a ton of statistical data. It would be interesting to see of the Heismans awarded would be the same.

Antwan Goodley (WR) is 4th in recv yards with 36 catches, 851 yds, 23.6 avg, and 8 tds, and qb Bryce Petty is 102/144, 2023 yds, 15 td and 1 int with a 221.8 rating.

Seastrunk rb is tearing it up on as few carries as he gets with a 9.2 yds/a, only second to melvin gordon

The whole conference is a joke and is substantially overrated outside of Alabama. I have no doubt in my mind that the B10 is better than the SEC this year(SEC might not even be second best) but the media(read: ESPN and their fat contract with the SEC) continues to shove down our throats that the SEC is basically NFL-lite. Mizzou is terrible; let me repeat; MIZZOU IS TERRIBLE and they are winning the East.

I think Alabama drops a game and we'll see Oregon/FSU vs. OSU(on a 25 game winning streak) in the title game. Book it!
I'd be willing to bet more players from the sec will be drafted this year than the big ten. So the NFL must be in on the SEC bias

    OVERVIEW
From the 2003 draft until the 2012 draft, there were 2552 total players drafted, the SEC made up 401 of those draft picks, for 15.7% of the total players drafted. It’s hard to put this in context now, but after I’m able to tally the totals for some of the other major conferences, this will be more telling.

Total players drafted from the SEC/total players drafted from 2003-2012: 401/2552 – 15.7%

BTW, I couldn't find the others, but I'd bet nobody is over 10%. I'd think the B1G and Big XII are pretty close.

but does more talent = better teams? UNC might disagree.
  • Azubuike24
I don't think so. There have been plenty of SEC players who have busted. The odds might give you a slightly higher chance of success, but I think we can all see that systems, coaching and other intangibles matter.

uhh...they're in the link you posted.

From the 2003 draft until the 2012 draft, there were 2552 total players drafted, the B1G made up 339 of those draft picks, for 13.3% of the total players drafted.
From the 2003 draft until the 2012 draft, there were 2552 total players drafted, the Big 12 made up 291 of those draft picks, for 11.4% of the total players drafted.

Instead of looking at total players, why not look at players drafted per team. As the SEC was a bigger league than the Big 10 during that period, so they should have more players overall drafted.

Additionally, as it was mentioned, having more drafted doesn't necessarily make the teams better. College success doesn't always equal NFL draft/success.

So while this is a slightly interesting stat, it really doesn't mean much.

Fact is the SEC wins national championships. I wish it were different. I know being objective is not common in College football. The truth is OSU is a power house program that could compete and win the SEC but the Big Ten is minor league right now and unfortunately that reflects on OSU.

And I bet more B10 players end up with a job with a salary than the SEC. Your point?

Fact is the SEC has NEVER won a national championship.

You are probably right. My point was your SEC trolling makes OSU fans look stupid and I would like for you to quit

And your willingness to roll over and die is pretty pathetic. The SEC isn't as good as ESPN says it is and the only way to convince the masses(read: stupid people) is to constantly rail on the overrated aspects of the league. I'll take Ohio State over any those clowns any day of the week and you can take that to the bank.
  • pmoney25
I didn't say OSU can't win or beat any team in the SEC. I just said the SEC is better than the Big Ten as a conference. And the only way to prove the SEC isn't the best is on the field

This team is no different than the teams of Oregon's past where they put a tiny/fast QB back there and they try and punch you in the mouth quickly. As soon as they face a competent defense and knock off their offensive rhythm, they're in trouble.
This is a joke. Mariota is the best QB probably in school history, up there with Harrington, and torched Washington when the ground game didn't get going. As someone who has watched quite of bit of their football this year believe me this guy is the best player country on the best team in the country

Bahaha the Michigan left! No that's not it, this is the Michigan left...

It's nice because it keeps you always moving but at the same time doesn't move you actually closer. Cuts down on accidents though, which is necessary because public transportation doesn't exist in Michigan pretty much

When does the SEC realign or rename their divisions? Mizzou is in the East Division, but Columbia, MO is located farther west than every West Division school except Arkansas and Texas A&M.
