Straight from the horse's mouth (Bowl director): Ohio has bigger alumni base in the area, travels bettervball10set;1550725 wrote:Frank Solich. Period.

Dustin Fox suggested they hire Fick immediately. I agree.se-alum;1551181 wrote:BGSU job will be a hot commodity, plenty of talent there to win right now, and move on quickly. -
Pick6BGSU should hire Fick immediately if they want to fall back to an average MAC team. They do currently have talent, though. QB and RB are studs. Not sure what they are losing on defense and Joplin is a great MAC receiver. Dont know if he returns, either.
I know money talks, but lets be real, Wake Forest is a step down. He will probably go there, fail, and then end up coaching Presbyterian or something like Turner Gill. -

For coaches who want to move up the ladder. A new coach can win now, and maybe only have to spend a few years there.dlazz;1551182 wrote:wat -

Grobe seemed to do just fine there and he came from Ohio (which is why Wake was comfortable going MAC). Yeah, they've been horrible the past few years, but he did take them BCS oncePick6;1551188 wrote:BGSU should hire Fick immediately if they want to fall back to an average MAC team. supermanIf fick wants to go to BG, I'll volunteer to help him pack.

Classyposter58BGSU should be very good next season, a young head coach could step in and lead them to a 12 win season. They won't win in Madison but I don't know another game they should lose

Ok? You reckon there might be more than one young coach looking for a head coaching opportunity?dlazz;1551194 wrote:Boise State is a much better position. -
se-alumAlso, seems like Stan Drayton is a hot name going around, he's been linked to FAU and BGSU.

No real point -- just that by bringing up how OU and Akron had the same conference record with Akron having a tougher conference schedule, it sends the impression the teams are equal and possibly slanted a bit towards Akron.Pick6;1550918 wrote:OU gave Akron their worst loss of the year, what's your point? The Zips aren't a good team and only wins came against everybody they were supposed to excluding Toledo.
And as an alum, I will not stand for that sort of thing. NOT IN MY HOUSE! -

Not at all, even though I am happy with Akron's improvement this season and disappointed/surprised by OU's play late in the season. I didn't realize ECU actually seems to be a pretty good team, so it probably doesn't matter who gets to play them.Heretic;1551443 wrote:No real point -- just that by bringing up how OU and Akron had the same conference record with Akron having a tougher conference schedule, it sends the impression the teams are equal and possibly slanted a bit towards Akron.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be leaving work early on that day to watch OU get steamrolled.Pick6;1551575 wrote:Not at all, even though I am happy with Akron's improvement this season and disappointed/surprised by OU's play late in the season. But I'll be leaving work early. And getting drunk. So I'm not complaining. -

He should be. It's Texas for christ sakes, with a loss to Oregon they'll finish the last four years at 30-21 with only one season (2012) ending in a ranking. This program has totally fallen apart, they aren't even competitive with top teamswildcats20;1551662 wrote:Probably because he is going to be fired. -
