2013 NBA Early Entrant/Transfer Thread

reclegend22One name that is glaringly missing from all the early entry talk is Doug McDermott. I think he comes back, scores 3,000 career points and leads the country in scoring playing one more year for his dad in the Big East. The move to the Big East is what is so alluring for McDermott, in my view.
From a logical perspective, he should go pro due to the weak draft. -
Azubuike24Wiggins has done something very few players can do.
1. Achieve status of the most-hyped and most-discussed player of a recruiting class.
2. Despite #1, leave every single person having no fucking idea where he's going to attend college. -
Azubuike24The negatives of winning a title.
Chane Behanan is likely leaving after his Sophomore year (already reports surfacing on this)
Gorgui Dieng is almost assuredly leaving after his Junior (has been speculated/expected all year)
Russ Smith is entering the draft after his Junior season.
The Cards lose Peyton Siva to graduation and aren't sure about having Kevin Ware back next year, although Pitino says it's possible.
They will probably be a very depleted bunch next year... -
reclegend22Yeah, you gotta love the jerks in your office who think they are John Wooden and are talking about how dominant Louisville will be next year with everyone back. Nobody is coming back, you morons.
The day after the national title game is my least favorite day of the year at work, especially when a local team was in it. Listening to all these Michigan fans talking is enough to make you want to walk to the nearest well of stairs and fall down them. One guy was talking about how Trey Burke can't leave because he's only a sophomore. He has to play one more year like in college football, according to this Dick Vitale character from finance. Fuck stupid people. -
Laley23Victor Oladipo can be added to this list, about 4:05pm today. He has a presser scheduled for 4pm.
Cody Zeller can be added sometime tomorrow. He will be announcing tomorrow.
As for Michigan, I think all 4 should be gone. McGary has the most to lose, he needs to bolt asap with his age and how bigs are typically exposed the longer they stay. -
Azubuike24McGary got kind of exposed last night. I think he has an NBA future just because of his size/strength and he does have decent hands and skill, but I'm not completely sold on him ever being more than a body off the bench. He doesn't seem like he has the highest basketball IQ...
-
wildcats20Russ Smith is gone. And I would like to thank him again for not showing up last night.

In the NBA, he's Matt Bonner without the ability to shoot.Azubuike24;1422260 wrote:McGary got kind of exposed last night. McGary should go pro now. I agree with that stance. Take the money and run. -

Agreed, especially if Burke is gone. It was his drive and dishes that resulted in most of McGary's points, and I don't think he'll have near the success with Albrecht at the point.reclegend22;1422273 wrote: McGary should go pro now. I agree with that stance. Take the money and run. -
Azubuike24Also, if McGary returns, but THJ, GRIII and Burke leave, all of the sudden he becomes one of the main guys, and will be forced to show a back to the basket game. I'm not sure he's got that, despite his hands and offensive skills. I don't see him going, but we'll see...

If he gets a 1st round guarantee, he'd be crazy to return.Midstate01;1422411 wrote:Bleacher report newest mock has all 4 in draft and going in first round. -

Azubuike24Ricardo Ledo leaving Providence, after being academically ineligible for his Freshman year. He was a one-and-done, but not in the same sense that people expected. Apparently, he had issues with the staff this year. Stinks for PC, they were set to have a good team, FINALLY...
-
Laley23Ive heard many say McGary is a lottery pick. I honestly didnt think this was going to be a question, I thought he was gone about a month ago. Mainly, because he is old for a freshman and another year hurts his "potential". Even without this tourney run, I thought he should leave.
-
Laley23Sources are saying Zeller didnt announce today with Victor because the Cavs are in Indy and the whole family will be down tomorrow with him when he turns pro.
I was wondering about why he waited a day, but that makes a lot of sense. He will be official tomorrow sometime. -

Behanan and Dieng will never be heard from again.Azubuike24;1422199 wrote:The negatives of winning a title.

Azubuike24Apparently, Chane has 2 kids and his girlfriend is pregnant. He's only 20...but it sounds like he's really got no choice but to try to play for pay...that could be in Russia though.

Dieng will be around for awhile I think. Athletic, rebound and finishes around the basket. Pretty much what every NBA team looks for in a back-up big man lolse-alum;1422552 wrote:Behanan and Dieng will never be heard from again. -
MulvaI think Dieng has a chance. His offensive game has come miles. 2 years ago he would have had no chance of making a 15 foot turnaround.

Probably closer to Turkmenistan.Azubuike24;1422555 wrote:Apparently, Chane has 2 kids and his girlfriend is pregnant. He's only 20...but it sounds like he's really got no choice but to try to play for pay...that could be in Russia though. -

I think Dieng will be more than serviceable. He has a decent face up game and can block shots.se-alum;1422552 wrote:Behanan and Dieng will never be heard from again.
