You'd think playing to go to the Final 4 would assist with motivation.

Hardaway has been awful....and they are up 14

If I'm a FLA fan, I'm so pissed.

They will probably end up losing this by 4-6, and will flirt with just 1 or 2 breaks from getting back in it. In the end, the atrocious start will doom them.

His Dad seemed to never have a game like this. Every time I watched he shot like Stauskas is shooting.

Burke and McGrary have me agreeing with you....Hardaway keeps shooting like Craft and Florida will finish the rally.

If Duke loses tonight, I'd rather get blasted than lose in the fashion that KU did. They've gotta be reeling right now knowing that they probably would have walked into the Final Four. Florida wouldn't beat anyone playing like this today. Az is definitely right about it stinging when you get that close. In my early years as a hardcore fan, losing to Kentucky in the South regional final in '98 after holding an 18-point second-half lead was just excruciating. I was the saddest kid in the world.

Patric Young should seriously just stop trying to make moves...

Are you guys watching the same game I am? Florida isn't even jogging. They are done.

Imagine making it to the Final Four and then having your absolutely stacked team lose to fucking Utah that year. Talk about excruciating.

Erik Murphy should just follow Pat Young out of the arena.

Absolutely no reason he should have been brought back into the game. Donovan chose to lose with seniors rather than attempting anything to create a spark.

That was easily the worst loss I've experienced as a ku fan. Just absolutely devastating. I blacked out hard Friday night. Fuck Michigan.

Haha yeah. But most of that loss had to do with Makhtar being the victim of a hate crime. :D

Had Duke lost to Butler in 2010, it would have been almost the exact same thing. I know what you are saying; I came very close to enduring that feeling.

To Carolina's credit, that Runnin' Utes team had three future NBA players on it -- Andre Miller, Michael Doleac and Hannah Mottola. Rick Majerus had a loaded gun that year. They were much better than Butler was in 2010 with Gordon Hayward. In fact, the 1997 and '98 Utah teams might be the greatest mid-major teams of the last 25 years.

Definitely did not want to see Carolina that year. UK would've had no answer for Jamison. Turner and Sheppard were a fine back court, and although both Nazr and Magloire were quality bigs, neither could've gone out and checked him.

The good news (maybe bad news) for Florida, is Patric Young should be back...the Gators lose Boynton, Rosario and Murphy, but with the way they have all disappeared in some big games, it might not be a huge loss. Kasey Hill will have a lot on his shoulders, but he might be the best overall guard in the class. Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris are high-impact transfers, both should make them easily forget about Murphy. Chris Walker is very raw, but he's another Patric Young, with a little more offensive skill but less physicality. Shooting the 3 will probably be a weakness for the Gators, unless Frazier becomes a dead-eye shooter and Prather improves his shot.

Indiana won the Big Ten outright, if that isnt an improvement over last year then I have no clue how anyone is ever satisfyied with a season that doesnt end up in a title. Also, to say this is the best chance for Crean EVER is absurd. He has a good 20 more years of coaching at an elite level. Dont show your bias like that Az. I say it isnt a dissapointment, because reflecting after a few days since the loss I can appreciate what this team has done for Indiana. They won 6 (those kids are all gone) then won 12 and 12 games before turning the corner last year and this year was amazing until the Syracuse game. If you step back and take a look at where the program was when Crean took over, you can easily see how this is a fantastic year that ended, unfortunately, earlier than IU fans wanted.

Also, IU has 2 first rounders this year, not 3 (unless you are counting future drafts...which is kind of dumb when the player didnt play much). The team is talented, but they arent as talented as Michigan or Michigan St. No way. Oladipo and Zeller and thats about the extent of elite talent (AT THIS POINT). Yogi is an undersized PG who cant hit a jumpshot. Hulls is a stand still shooter who is horrible defender. Watford is the most inconsistent player I can remember in a long time. Great open 3pt shooter, but cant create his own shot, cannot score inside at all and cannot dribble the ball whatsoever...he is an above average defender however. Sheehey off the bench is very good, but very streaky.

All in all, people over-estimated the talent on this team. They could only play at one pace, fast. If a team could make them slow it down, they lost or realllly struggled. They had no depth. Literally 6 players. Anyone else couldnt play in the big games, they just werent ready or arent good enough.

I even fell into the trap of believing they were better than they were. But once I saw what Wisconsin was able to do twice, then OSU and Minny I knew it was going to be a long shot to beat any bad match-up in the tourney. Syracuse was the worst match-up you can get when you start 2 players under 6 feet. I would have gladly traded places with Duke and gotten to play more up-tempo teams. I had no confidence in them beating Syracuse, Butler or Marquette and really wanted NCST so we didnt have to deal with Temple. Just the reality of watching this team all year.

As for Michigan, if they lost today, they would have nothing to show for the year. A 5th place finish in conference and an Elite 8 appearance. Of course, they arent losing, so this is meaningless at this point.

Maybe it's just me and not watching Florida, but Young has always seemed underwhelming. I remember last year's game against Ohio State in the Schott, he walked by me, and I've never seen a basketball player in person so ripped. I thought he'd be able to use his size and strength well against us, but he didn't.

Yep. He was that way when he came in. The guy is Tarzan, plays like Jane.
  • Azubuike24
BTW, be prepared to hear about it all day, about how sick the Louisville team has been. Pitino will make sure it's noted on the broadcast multiple times, just in case his team doesn't play well, or *gasp*, loses. It will be the best "flu-infested" team he's ever coached.

I'm sure Syracuse-Michigan will be the late game on Saturday. Boeheim is 9-0 vs. Beilein. Of course, WVU was never as athletic as this UM team. It will be interesting. Boeheim is also 3-0 in national semifinal games. I'm hoping those 0's don't go.
