Really just had to do with comparing how programs operation (insert killing Declan Sullivan jokes) and coming in contact with more and more assholes who root for Ohio State. For the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, I picked a side (although just months earlier I was devastated when Texas beat the Buckeyes). When Terrelle Pryor stepped on campus, I started rooting against the Buckeyes. When I got to see how the players act on campus and interact with some of the assholes on here, now I hope they lose literally every game by a hundred points. I really can't stand Ohio State at this point in time.GoChiefs;1332659 wrote:Serious question, how does your love of a team just fade away? Especially during successful times? I dunno, I just can't imagine a scenario that would make me lose the desire to support the teams I root for.
But it wasn't all "well I dislike Ohio State" stuff, I genuinely like how Notre Dame functions more. I like how athletes there are actually student-athletes, who are put in the random dorm assignments with the regular population. I like how they have to live on campus until they're upperclassman. I like how they graduate literally 97% of their football team, and everyone who graduates does it in 3.5 years with a real degree. I think that's awesome. Personally I don't know how anyone can root for schools like Oklahoma (47%), Cal (48%), Arizona/Washington State/South Florida (53%), etc etc. I hated programs that were all about getting to the NFL (which I generally don't find entertaining at all), and grew to despise their fan bases who made excuses for it. -

I'll bet if you inserted Notre Dame for Ohio State in your experience, especially the part where you "see how the players act on campus", you'd feel the same way about ND that you do now about OSU....and "interacting with some the of the ****s on here", where I'm assuming you mean OSU ****s? Oh, the irony.sjmvsfscs08;1332990 wrote:Really just had to do with comparing how programs operation (insert killing Declan Sullivan jokes) and coming in contact with more and more ****s who root for Ohio State. Like seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? I don't know how Justn keeps you guys around. You and your ilk actually make coming onto this site at best a mediocre experience when in 2009/2010 it was a lot of fun.Tiernan;1333001 wrote:OK Rock Knutne. Well I have friends at Notre Dame and they have said that most of the guys are generally great guys. Guys like Mike Golic Jr are "colossal assholes" though. Yeah, bad apples are everywhere, I am not at all denying that or saying otherwise.vball10set;1333003 wrote:I'll bet if you inserted Notre Dame for Ohio State in your experience, especially the part where you "see how the players act on campus", you'd feel the same way about ND that you do now about OSU....and "interacting with some the of the ****s on here", where I'm assuming you mean OSU ****s? lol @ Golic, and I agree with the bad apples everywhere comment--hope your stay at OSU isn't as bad as you're making it out to besjmvsfscs08;1333008 wrote: Well I have friends at Notre Dame and they have said that most of the guys are generally great guys. The graduation rate indicates that there are fewer who give a shit about anything other than football and *****.Pick6;1333011 wrote:sj- such a naive hypocrit. There arent "good guys? at OSU?
I especially liked partying with Jack Mewhort in February of '11 and having him explain how he failed PSYCH 100 and had a quarter GPA of 1.2. Smooth. -

Interesting. This young man graduated early from St. John's Jesuit with a 3.9 GPA, and is now carrying a solid 2.9 at THE OSU. How do I know this? We're friends of the Mewhort family, so please, tread carefully here.sjmvsfscs08;1333015 wrote:I especially liked partying with Jack Mewhort in February of '11 and having him explain how he failed PSYCH 100 and had a quarter GPA of 1.2. congrats. Like you said there are bad apples at every program. Very naive to think otherwise. Notre Dame has been a down program, which would explain the higher graduation rate. Less talent, players staying in school longer, more players graduating. Makes sense to me.sjmvsfscs08;1333015 wrote:The graduation rate indicates that there are fewer who give a shit about anything other than football and *****.

I mean, ND is so great and OSU is filled with scum bags, but I havent heard of and potential OSU rapes cases being swept under the rug. Michael Floyd and Tommy Rees have had their run ins right off the top of my head. Driving drunk multiple times and assaulting police officers isnt setting a great example to me.
And T Pryor took advantage of your friend or whatever the story is you told on here. Im sure there arent hoes lining up at every big time program to suck these guys' dicks. -

Potential rapes? She accused an ND player of grabbing her breast. Not cool at all if it happened but hardly rape. Both schools have had players get into their fair share of run-in's with the law the last several years. Why can't it just be left at that. -

Carefully? I didn't bomb psych 100 by scheduling all of my experiment sessions on the same day and then not showing up for them.vball10set;1333025 wrote:Interesting. I especially enjoyed taking Biz Mgmt 330 with Sanzenbacher and Saine where we all did well. I even moreso enjoyed working with Dexter Larimore in our group for Biz Mgmt 739 where we got an A.sjmvsfscs08;1333015 wrote: I especially liked partying with Jack Mewhort in February of '11 and having him explain how he failed PSYCH 100 and had a quarter GPA of 1.2. You're a true piece of sh*t if you truly are characterizing players as the same. There are more than just a couple football players who care about the education they get at Fisher. -
sjmvsfscs08
That would make sense for you, wouldn't it? Some facts to know: 1) leaving early, if in good academic standing, doesn't effect the graduation rate, 2) Notre Dame still had a shit ton of talent and the class ranking show that. As people have been saying for years, the biggest problem was coaching. Your assumption that talent = stupid. That, ironically, is stupid. You must be a great football player.Pick6;1333026 wrote:congrats. Like you said there are bad apples at every program. Very naive to think otherwise. I should note, you can be stupid and still graduate on time, even at Notre Dame. The fact that 100% of their black players do so is nothing short of incredible.
I haven't heard of any Notre Dame rape cases being swept under the rug either.Pick6;1333026 wrote:I mean, ND is so great and OSU is filled with scum bags, but I havent heard of and potential OSU rapes cases being swept under the rug. When Michael Floyd got his DUI he was nearly kicked off the team and agreed to live in a dorm with freshman during his senior all-American season so that he would change his lifestyle. I remember when an OSU player got a DUI and his punishment was sitting a quarter against Youngstown State; I'm sure that was rough for him.
As for Tommy Rees, he missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of playing a football game in Ireland and essentially guaranteed losing his starting job. For what it's worth, witnesses said he didn't assault an officer and it was dropped.
Certainly not making excuses for them, but don't like they had a get out of jail free card.
I never told any story like that, at least certainly not involving my friends.Pick6;1333026 wrote:And T Pryor took advantage of your friend or whatever the story is you told on here. Im sure there arent hoes lining up at every big time program to suck these guys' dicks.
