OSU played really good bball. I dont buy it that they dont have a bench. They played alot and played well. Craft isnt that good. Sure he can play some D but he is terrible on offense.

THis is a Duke team that has won 2-3 games this season that they would usually lose. There is almost no reason to of won last night. OSU just couldnt put it away. Plumlee is a stud.

Pundits are talking about Duke being #1 since they have played and beatin 3 top 5 teams in less then 2 weeks. After watching IU the other night....Duke isnt the best team.
They unequivocally have the best resume, and would be deserving of the No. 1 ranking if they were voted into it based on their impressive sum of wins alone. But you are correct. Duke isn't the best team. People keep saying that there isn't a "Kentucky" in college basketball this year. There is. It's Indiana. By springtime, if they continue to improve and trust in one another to win as "one," the Hoosiers are going to be almost unbeatable. They run as well as any pure running team I've seen since the North Carolina Tar Heels were powered by Ray Felton.

Duke is the clear second best team in the country at this point, at least in my view. I know I am 100% biased, but the Blue Devils are very good this year and I haven't seen another team aside from IU that is quite on their level when the Blue Devils are at their peak. They were at their peak in the final 10 minutes last night, and it was a spectacular display, but, painfully, it wasn't anywhere near as good as Indiana.

Matta also wen't rather deep in his rotation. I know he does this early in the season, but I figured when considering the opponent he would keep it somewhat short. There was some foul issues, so that could be the case, but like I said....no flow.
Lenzelle Smith was looking to take the MOST unbalanced shots he possibly could. He needs to slowwwwwwww down, he gets going at 110mph and it just doesnt work out it looks like.

Thomas I figured would get much much more touches too after he cam eback from those 2 early fouls, but for some reason it did not happen. Craft also looked like he was forcing the issue more than he usually does on offense, and he was not on to say the least. Oh well, its just one game in November

    Go back and rewatch.
I did see they were doubling Thomas on the pick and rolls, But if you have a great player you find ways to get them the ball. Matta I thought would address that at halftime and come up with creative ways to get him touches

I saw this. They stayed home on Thomas and gave Craft the looks....still gotta make adjustments. No reason for Craft to be taking THAT many shots and missing them.

They could have fed him the ball on the block, the fool can fill it up from anywhere.

Oh I 100% agree adjustments could have been made. But with Craft's supposed offensive improvement this year, I'm not so sure Matta wasn't content with Craft getting open looks.

Ohio State had trouble getting a good shot much more in the 2nd half. Duke was emotionless in the 1st half....but played their tails off in the 2nd....AND hit the shots. Duke doesn't always hit the shots but did last night.

On a neutral court I'm calling it a 50/50 game right now....we'll see how much OSU can improve. Duke appears to be the better team and actually for the 2nd time in about 7 years seem like a team that insists on finding a way to win. This Duke team isn't getting beat in the early rounds......OSU has a great coach and the necessary talent. They'll make a lot of noise if they pass the ball effectively.

As for Seth Curry only "living off his brother's name," that's straight ridiculous. He's not his brother -- I don't believe any Duke fan here ever said that he was, even if some here continue to maintain that somebody did -- and for a player known primarily for his shooting, Seth hasn't been as nearly consistent a shooter as I once hoped he would.

But he has put together some remarkable individual games and solid numbers for Duke over his career. The 21 second half points he dropped on UNC in 2011 was one of the most unreal shooting displays in the history of the rivalry. He did hit 64 threes as a sophomore, at 43 percent clip. That doesn't "suck." He scored 26 to lead Duke back from down 20 points in the second half against N.C. State last year. He's averaged 12 points per game for his career and is averaging 15 per game thus far this year, while scoring 55 in three games against Minnesota, VCU and Louisville. Not bad.

And Seth's done it all with a toothpick frame and on one leg. He suffered a severe stress reaction in his lower leg in the preseason that has rendered him unable to practice at all during the week. He essentially only suits up for games. Seth is a tough kid.

Here's what I think is comical. A few things...three to be exact.

    1. Seth Curry has 1595 career points. He will score over 2000 points for his career. People still say he's bad.

    2. Seth Curry is NOT his brother. Guess what? Stephen is one of the best scorers in the last quarter-century.

    3. I like the ESPNU college basketball podcast. I dislike Seth Greenberg's commentary. I really wish he would've NOT screwed up and recruited Seth Curry. He might still be on the bubble...

Exactly. My post above didn't even touch on his career at Liberty. Who cares if it was Liberty. Seth Curry averaged 20 points per game there and led the nation in scoring for freshmen. It's Division I basketball and it's impressive.

And haha at point No. 3. That's funny. That was one of the things I really looked forward to each March. It always brought the lulz.

You guys are CLEARLY forgetting when CC (I think it was him) said Duke was about to go apeshit on college basketball because they got Curry. His reasoning...Look what Steph did at a small school. Seth is even BETTER (in reality, about the same, scoring wise) at a small school. He was all over his nuts saying how they get the next Curry transferring in and just wait. It was comical. So it is fun to poke fun at that.

Curry is a solid player. Probably 5th best on Duke this year, but solid.

Then again, look again and who you quoted...

I'm not sure there were many who felt Seth was better than Stephen. That was obvious about 3 games into Seth's Sophomore year...

Oh, we all knew that. Doesnt make it any less fun to talk about lol.

Indeed. A total bandwagon fan who picks OSU in football and Duke in basketball and knows very little about either sport because the rules are more complicated than gym class dodgeball.

It was a good game between two very good teams who I'd love to see in a best-of-5/7 series just to see who'd win out. Acting like one is way better than the other is the mark of a clown.

The only thing worse than Craft's shots was the reducliously poor anouncing on ESPN. Sounded like Duke's radio network play by play staff. I like the Buck's chances on a netural floor.
